Birdland Caravan gives Orioles fans early taste of baseball, chance to mingle with players
"My husband and I are big Orioles fans," said Orioles season ticket holder Stefane Moscati. "We have season tickets and we just enjoy trying to go to any event that the Orioles put on."
The annual Birdland Caravan is this weekend where fans can mingle with their favorite Orioles player at various locations throughout the Baltimore region.
On Thursday, Guinness Open Gate Brewery hosted fans for some drinks and to get up close and personal with many of the Orioles players.
"I am a big Jackson Holliday fan, and I really like [Ryan] O'Hearn, and I just love all the players," said Orioles fan Kate Whipp.
Jackson Holliday was a popular guy at the event. Other orioles in attendance were Albert Suárez, Chayce McDermott and Ryan O'Hearn. They interacted with fans, served drinks, took pictures and answered hard-hitting questions.
"Who on the team would you least like to date your sister?" a young fan asked Ryan O'Hearn. "Colton Cowser," O'Hearn replied.
Some fans also set very high expectations for the team this season. The Orioles made the playoffs last season for the season year in a row, but also for the second year in a row, they lost in the first round.
"We're going to win the World Series this year," Orioles fan Bill Weiman said while proudly showing off his orioles tattoo on his leg. "103 wins. We're going to sweep those Dodgers and we're going to save the country."
Birdland Caravan continues
Gunnar Henderson, Adley Rutschman, Colton Cowser and Jordan Westburg are some of the bigger names expected to be in attendance for Friday's caravan event at PBR Baltimore.
Here's a list of the weekend's events.
The Orioles' first spring training game is scheduled for February 22 against the Pittsburgh Pirates from Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota. Their season opener is in Toronto on March 27 and their home opener is against Boston on March 31.

Kyle Schwarber Delivers Heartfelt Message to Phillies Fans As Free Agency Looms
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Kyle Schwarber is keenly aware that this could be his last season with the Philadelphia Phillies. Schwarber has bounced around with three teams since he was non-tendered by the Chicago Cubs. He was great for the Washington Nationals, but they traded him. He was great for the Boston Red Sox, but they let him walk in free agency. And now, he's been even greater in four years as a Phillie. Before the 2022 season, Schwarber got a four-year, $79 million contract. He's worth at least that this time around, as he's in the middle of the best year of his career, and though the Phillies are a big-market team with the league's third-highest payroll, one never knows how they'll value him until the offseason begins. (Photo by)So with free agency only a couple of months away, Schwarber recently reflected on his previous departures from other teams, and hoped he had done enough already to leave a lasting impression on Philadelphians. "When I first came into the big leagues with the Cubs, even when you make the playoffs and win the World Series the next year you think, 'Oh, I'm gonna be here for forever. We're gonna be here for forever. We've got such a great core,'" Schwarber told USA Today's Gabe Lacques. "And then the business side happens, right? I think as a player, you want to make an impression, a lasting impression on a fan base and an organization. And I don't think that's something you take lightly. "I hope I did it in Chicago. I hope I did it in Washington and Boston, for a short amount of time. And I hope, if this is it after the year, that I did that here. "Because you pour so much of everything you have on a daily basis into the organization, into the city, into your teammates and trying to win. You just hope that people – I don't want to say appreciate it, because that's what we do – but I know how much we pour in that it becomes home." Schwarber has been great on the field, but if there's anything that would really make losing him tough to stomach, it's the fact that he's become the heartbeat of the Phillies' clubhouse. The 32-year-old always knows just what to tell the demanding Philadelphia fan base. And as three other fan bases know all too well, it could sting for a long time if the Phillies let him get away. MLB Rumors: Mariners, Dodgers named suitors for Munetaka Murakami
The post MLB Rumors: Mariners, Dodgers named suitors for Munetaka Murakami appeared first on ClutchPoints. The MLB Hot Stove never fully turns off. It merely just simmers in the background, teasing baseball fans with possibilities from afar until the World Series concludes. Nevertheless, rumors of where Japanese superstar Munetaka Murakami could call his first MLB home are still thriving. Baseball insider Jon Heyman listed the Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Dodgers among four potential fits for the Japanese slugger, as shared by B/R Walk-Off on X (formerly Twitter) Wednesday. 'Potential fits for Japanese slugger Munetaka Murakami, per @JonHeyman: Mariners, Dodgers, Mets, Red Sox,' posted Bleacher Report's baseball focus account on Wednesday. Heyman also listed the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets as fits for Murakami. The 25-year-old could garner one of the biggest contracts in history for a Japanese player if he's posted by the Yakult Swallows, his NPB team. While the Dodgers, Mariners, Red Sox and Mets are all fits, there will definitely be others interested in bringing in the corner infielder. The New York Yankees would be one. The Chicago Cubs, another. If the Swallows decide to let Murakami test the MLB waters, which franchise could reel him in? Dodgers, Mariners, others poised to chase Munetaka Murakami's signature Murakami would help all of these contenders. He can play first and third base, as well as the outfield. The Mariners traded for Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suarez to help them at the corner infield spots, but Suarez is a free agent after this season. The Dodgers have the aging Max Muncy at the hot corner. The Red Sox could use Murakami at first base, especially if Triston Casas doesn't return from injury at his previous level. As for the Mets, Pete Alonso will be a free agent after the season, while the young duo of Mark Vientos and Brett Baty have failed to impress at third base. In reality, any of these contenders would love to add a bat like Murakami's to the lineup. He's only 25, so any team that signs him would get him during his prime years. Murakami has shown a smooth stroke and great power, most notably helping the Japanese team win the 2023 World Baseball Classic. The fact that he can play two positions (first and third base) considered scarce in talent at the major league level right now is notable as well. Will the slugger call Los Angeles or Seattle home? Or will he remain in Japan for another campaign? Related: Pirates OF gets real on Brewers' insane win streak Related: 1 Padres' player who will make or break 2025 playoff chances
