Everything inside the £250 Harrods beauty advent calendar 2025

Independenta day ago
Harrods is renowned for many things, from its Grade II listed building to its green-robed doormen and its over-the-top Christmas decorations. But another thing stands out at Christmas: the brand's beauty advent calendar.
It sounds ludicrously early, but every August, the big luxury department stores drop the first glimpses of their beauty advent calendars for the festive season ahead. This year, Liberty was the first to debut its Christmas countdown (in July, no less), with Harvey Nichols, Selfridges (explore my full list of 2025's best beauty advent calendars) and Harrods following shortly after.
Last year, the retailer's 25-day beauty haul came wrapped up in its signature green hue, but one year on, the brand has taken things down a notch with minimalist taupe packaging, complete with subtle gold accents. However, there are some similarities to 2024's advent calendar, with return appearances from fan-favourite brands including Augustinus Bader, 111 Skin, La Mer and more. Plus, if you like a bit of a shake-up, you'll be pleased to discover an extra seven products in 2025's line-up – all for the same £250 price point (Harrods.com).
Scroll on for all the juicy details, including my honest review of everything inside. Spoilers ahead.
How we tested
Receiving the Harrods calendar on 29 July (22 days before its market-wide dispatch on 20 August), I've had three weeks to explore the 32 products within, testing them as part of my day-to-day skincare, make-up, fragrance, haircare and body care routines. While unboxing and reviewing them, I noted the following factors:
Packaging – Some of the appeal of a luxury advent calendar is often the possibility that you could repurpose the packaging the following year, so I wanted it to look good and feel robust. I also weighed up the pros and cons of the brand's neutral colour choices versus a traditional Christmas theme.
Sizing – I considered whether or not the number of full-size and mini formulas was impressive for the retail price, and judged the sizing of each item relative to its use. For instance, is an 8ml SPF cream an asset or just clutter?
Brands – I considered the worth of the brands included and their quality. Ideally, I want a healthy mix of buzzy beauty and timeless brands. I wanted both practical, effective beauty as well as some extravagant, luxury products.
Performance – After using the products included, I recorded any that wowed me, and any that felt like fillers.
Distinctive qualities – Compared to other beauty advent calendars on the market, I took time to assess whether or not Harrods' offering stands out from the crowd or is much the same as competitors.
Lucy Smith has been writing about the best beauty advent calendars for several years, covering 2024's Sephora advent calendar and 2025's Charlotte Tilbury, Boots and Space NK calendars. Having worked in the industry for more than five years, she's seen many Christmas countdowns and knows the brands – like Mac and Rodial – that are frequently featured, plus the ones making a splash in new offerings for 2025. Given that she is constantly testing the latest and greatest brands (such as her tests of the new K18 heat protectors and Clinique nude honey lipsticks), Lucy is across all the trending products to expect in advent calendars this Christmas. Here's what she thought of Harrods' latest iteration.

Holly Ramsay shows off her incredible abs in a white co-ord as she enters her 'bridal era' on weekend away ahead of Christmas wedding to Adam Peaty

Holly Ramsay showed off her incredible abs in a white co-ord as she entered her 'bridal era' on a weekend away ahead of her Christmas wedding to Adam Peaty later this year. Influencer Holly, 25, and Adam, 30, announced their engagement in September last year after dating for three years. And this weekend she shared snaps from a 'bridal getaway' at The Grove hotel in Watford as she showed off her very impressive toned abs in a white bralet and glittering long skirt. She also enjoyed a cowgirl themed night out where she wore a leggy white dress, boots and a white cowgirl 'Bride' hat. As part of the weekend she enjoyed a pottery making class and had stickers with Olympic swimmer Adam's face on. She penned in the caption of her newest Instagram post, which didn't specify that it was an actual hen do - : 'Bridal era is so far my favourite era.' Earlier this summer Holly revealed which famous face inspired her wedding dress style ahead of her nuptials. Plans for her winter wedding are well and truly underway with the influencer having already selected her gown for the big day. Speaking to MailOnline at the Sport Industry Awards she said of her dress: 'I'm very excited. I'll not say whether it's traditional or not, because I don't want to give anything away.' But she did add: 'I've always been a huge fan of Kate Middleton 's wedding dress, and the lace, and how traditional it is, so I took a lot of inspiration from her.' She also told how all her family are so excited for the nuptials, writing: 'Everyone has wedding fever! We're all very excited, and the countdown in on. 'There's just something so English about getting married in the winter. I love summer, but winter is my favourite time of the year. 'I want the Christmas magic feeling of everyone coming together, to celebrate and have a great time.' Her chef father is also overseeing the food on her big day. It comes after Holly and Adam announced their engagement last year with a slew of sweet Instagram snaps from their holiday in Mallorca. Influencer Holly was the first to share the news as she posted a series of sweet snaps together and wrote: 'I am marrying my best friend. I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now. 'I still remember how big my smile was the morning I got home from my first date with you.' 'Thank you for letting the little girl inside of me feel loved, seen and happier than ever. I love you & I cannot wait to be your wife.' She went on to reference Adam's son George, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Eirianedd Munro. Holly continued: 'I promise to always be there with you and George, I'm so grateful to be in his life and I cannot wait for more.' 'And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13'. Adam also shared a gushing post announcing the news, which came after he decided to take a break from swimming. In his heartfelt post, he praised his fiancée for sticking with him through his 'lowest times', following his highly-publicised battle with alcoholism and mental health. He penned: 'I can't believe you're going to be my wife. I'm truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side. You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace.' 'You have been with me when I've been at my lowest and helped me understand myself to navigate my own darkness.' 'You have also celebrated the highs which have been so many, as for the first time in my life, I'm happy with the man I've become. You came to church with me and joined the incredible community we have there without a question.' Adam continued: 'Your family have always treated me so generously with their time, emotion and trust. I can't wait to be joined with them too.' 'I've always believed that when two people are engaged and later married that we are no longer two people but we join as one and it's the biggest privilege to share that with you.' 'Seeing you show the love you give to the most important person in my life, George, even from day one, there was never a question about you becoming my wife one day. I'm looking forward to our life together and the many challenges we'll face.' 'I promise to always love you with all my heart.' 'Matthew 19:6 'So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.''

TK Maxx launches huge yellow sticker sale with massive discounts on brands including Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger

TK Maxx shoppers are racing to stores after the retailer kicked off its famous yellow sticker sale, with prices dropping to as little as 30p. The mega-clearance is held twice a year and sees thousands of items across fashion, homeware and beauty slashed to rock-bottom prices. 3 3 Shoppers are told to look out for yellow labels on tags, which mark the very final reductions before stock disappears from the shelves for good. Eagle-eyed bargain hunters have been flooding social media with their finds. One shopper posted in Facebook's Extreme Coupons and Bargains group, showing off trousers for £1, designer kids' sandals for £4 and Calvin Klein swimwear for just 70p, For reference, a similar Calvin Klein bikini bottom retails for £41, which means this eagle-eyed shopper saved herself a massive £40.30. She also saved a hefty amount on the kids shoes, as Tommy Hilfiger kids' sandals currently retail for £69 on the website, but this bargain hunter found them for £4. She's not the only shopper taking advantage of the massive sale. Another proudly revealed they had bagged a "Steve Madden handbag, reduced from £40 to £18". The discounts have become something of a cult event for savvy savers, with some shoppers even describing this summer's edition as 'the best one yet'. TikTok deal-hunting star Becky Chorlton, known to her 445,000 followers as @beckysbazaar, urged fans to 'run, run, run' to TK Maxx after finding items cheaper than car-boot sales. Among her haul were a 30p top, a £6 Calvin Klein bikini and a pair of Abercrombie trousers, originally £82, reduced to just £5. Watch as shopping expert reveals secret TKMaxx codes that help you spot genuine bargains She also pointed out that the sale stretches beyond fashion. Shelves are stacked with discounted homeware, beauty products and accessories, with prices so low that some shoppers are even stocking up on early Christmas gifts. Bargains spotted included a £3 viral bagel candle and £2 sequin coasters. But the sale doesn't last forever. While rails are initially crammed with cut-price gems, regulars warn that stock can vanish fast, with shelves often left bare within weeks. Accessories can also be hit-and-miss, with some items missing pieces, like packs of clips with one short. Shoppers on TikTok and Facebook have been quick to share their 'yellow sticker flexes', with one bragging about a Juicy Couture set, another revealing they found a Zara dress for just 20p, and a third claiming they'd picked up a £230 Calvin Klein top for £13. With high-end brands including Kate Spade and Juicy Couture among the discounted labels, it's no surprise bargain hunters are dashing to stores to snap up deals before they're gone. One shopper summed it up simply, saying: 'Most things are cheaper than a cup of coffee.' How to decode TK Maxx labels to bag the top buys & discontinued goodies According to Grace Forell, who posts under The Sustainable Shopper, many shops such as TK Maxx have secret codes on their products. She claims the 'secret' codes will help you 'spend more wisely' when you are doing a shop. In a video on her @graceforell account, Grace broke down the things to look out for at some popular retailers. The savvy shopper claims you should look for a single digit on TK Maxx price tags. She added: 'The most common numbers are 1, 2 and 7. 'From what I've researched - '1' means the product was made specifically for TK Maxx - so is unlikely to be a 'wow bargain'. ''7' is a 'packaway' item - usually from a previous season. 'It's probably discounted.' However, she said you should really look out for a '2' as that is the 'thriftiest number. Grace explained: 'These are usually designer bits, being sold at a cut price, that have been bought as part of a deal. 'THESE are the wow bargains.' How Does TK Maxx Flog Designer for Cheap? TK Maxx follows an off-price business model to get designer products for cheap It buys merchandise from various brands and designers at a discount and then sells it to customers at lower prices than traditional retail stores The selection at its outlets often includes overstocked items, last season's styles and goods from cancelled orders. The Gold Label is a premium collection of designer and luxury products offered by TK Maxx. If you love designer clothes, this is the tag you want to look out for on pieces.

Topshop confirms location of first UK store in major return to high street after relaunching website

Find out what happened to Topshop SHOP TO IT Topshop confirms location of first UK store in major return to high street after relaunching website Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) TOPSHOP is officially back, and it has chosen one of the UK's most iconic fashion destinations for its big return to the high street. The British brand, once a staple for teens and twenty-somethings, has confirmed Liberty will be its first UK stockist. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 4 Topshop has announced its first UK stockist 4 The Liberty department store in London will be the UK's first Topshop stockist The news was teased on social media with a short video showing the famous Liberty façade and W1 postcode, sparking frenzied speculation among fans. Liberty later confirmed the collaboration, with its group buying and merchandising director Lydia King describing the partnership as 'really exciting,' referencing the nostalgia surrounding Topshop's cultural heyday in London. It marks the first time in four years that shoppers will be able to buy Topshop clothing in a UK store, after the collapse of Arcadia and its 2021 takeover by Asos forced the chain entirely online. The comeback follows last week's relaunch of Topshop's standalone website, separate from Asos, with a 40-piece collection fronted by model Cara Delevingne. The line, featuring fresh staples, was showcased in a fashion show at London's Trafalgar Square and was Topshop's first runway outing since 2018. Fans can also shop old favourites like its much-loved skinny jeans. Internationally, Topshop is re-establishing itself through partnerships with Irish department stores McElhinneys and Shaws, France's Printemps and Denmark's Magasin du Nord. But the Liberty tie-up is the brand's most significant move yet, signalling its official return to the British high street. Michelle Wilson, managing director of Topshop and Topman, had hinted earlier this year that the brand was planning a 'semi-permanent presence' in the UK. She also stressed the new era of Topshop won't be a copy of the old model, but a reimagined brand fit for 2025, aiming to compete in today's fast-changing fashion landscape. Topshop teases high street return WHAT HAPPENED TO TOPSHOP? The rise of e-commerce and the shift in consumer behavior towards online shopping caught the brand off guard. While competitors like Zara and H&M quickly adapted to the digital landscape, Topshop struggled to keep pace. Additionally, the brand faced criticism for its fast fashion model, which became increasingly scrutinised for its environmental impact and labour practices. The rise of more ethical and sustainable fashion brands further eroded Topshop's market share. Financial troubles began to surface within the Arcadia Group, exacerbated by Sir Philip Green's controversial business practices and personal scandals. In 2019, Arcadia Group entered a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) to restructure its debts, leading to the closure of several Topshop stores. Now, with Liberty on board and a brand-new website up and running, the label that once defined a generation is banking on nostalgia and reinvention to win back shoppers. 4 The new collection was showcased in a catwalk show at London's Trafalgar Square Credit: getty
