The market regulator on Wednesday mandated the use of a Common Contract Note (CCN) with a Single Volume Weighted Average Price (VWAP) effective June 27, 2025. This move comes with a view to simplify post-trade processes and boost ease of doing business for institutional investors.
Until now, institutional investors and market participants were burdened with separate trade confirmations from each exchange, leading to cumbersome reconciliation, settlement complexities, and increased compliance headaches. Responding to long-standing demands from industry stakeholders, regulators, in collaboration with exchanges and clearing corporations, developed a single consolidated contract note mechanism with a uniform VWAP.
Under the new system, all trades executed across multiple exchanges will be consolidated into a single, harmonised contract note, drastically simplifying post-trade reporting. This eliminates the need for investors to process and reconcile multiple contract notes, streamlining the settlement workflow.

Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav has reiterated the state govt's commitment to implementing 27 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs). He said the matter had been delayed in court due to the earlier announcement being made without proper survey or preparation. Officials have now been instructed to draft a bill for the Assembly based on factual, data-driven findings. Yadav said the state govt was actively working to extend the benefit of reservation to those who were left out under the existing 14% quota. Delhi court declares arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari fugitive
New Delhi: A special court here on Saturday declared absconding arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari a fugitive economic offender (FEO), finding force in the Enforcement Directorate 's (ED) case accusing him of money laundering . Significantly, the Court did not find "any substance" in the ground taken by Bhandari's counsel that since the UK High Court (in February) turned down the Indian government's extradition request , Bhandari has a right to reside in the UK. The court rejected the argument of Bhandari's counsel that the failure of India's extradition request in the UK High Court in February gave him the right to reside in the UK. "FEO proceedings are another way of making one come back to India to face trial by coercing him to return by attachment, confiscation of the properties of such fugitive economic offender and proceeds of crime and by dis-entitling such fugitive economic offender from putting forward or defending any civil claim," the order said. Therefore, when he chooses not to return, "he cannot take the plea of avoiding all the legal consequences including that of Section 14 of the FEO Act," the special court said.
