and I'll often lead those by sharing data - bowler by bowler, their patterns, phases, matchups. What's brilliant is how Virat contributes," Wilde said.
'He picks up stuff that the data doesn't always show. He's not someone who asks for loads of data, but what's reassuring is how his gut instinct often lines up perfectly with the analytics. That, for me, is genius,' he added.
Kohli remains active in ODIs and continues to dominate, with 14,181 runs, 51 centuries, and 74 fifties in 302 matches.
In the IPL, Kohli has been the face of Royal Challengers Bengaluru since inception, amassing a record 8661 runs in 267 matches, which includes 8 centuries and 63 fifties.

Jorrel Hato completes Chelsea switch, leaves Ajax after strong season

Club World Cup champion Chelsea has completed the signing of Netherlands defender Jorrel Hato from Ajax in a deal worth a reported 37 million pounds ($49 million). The 19-year-old Hato, who has been capped six times by his country, has signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge. He becomes the Blues' eighth signing of the summer transfer window. I'm very excited, Hato, who can operate in central defense or at left back, told the Premier League club's website. I thought a lot about my future and wanted to take the next step in my career. Chelsea is the best place for me to do that so I'm very happy. Hato joined Ajax's academy from hometown club Sparta Rotterdam in 2018 and signed his first professional contract aged 16 four years later. He scored four goals in 111 appearances for the Eredivisie team, with his international debut coming as a substitute in a 6-0 win against Gibraltar in November 2023. Chelsea starts its Premier League season on Aug. 17 at home to Crystal Palace.

'Is it too late to call Virat Kohli out of retirement...': Shashi Tharoor urges BCCI as India struggle at The Oval

Virat Kohli and Shashi Tharoor Millions of Indian cricket fans are felt what Shashi Tharoor said. The Congress MP has urged Virat Kohli to come out of retirement as India is on the verge of yet another prepares series defeat since 2007 in England. During the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Tharoor missed Kohli's presence on the field throughout, but he missed him the most during the final Test at The Oval, when India was unable to break the crucial partnership between Joe Root and Harry Brook. With 268 more to win, England was down to 106/3 after centuries from Root and Brook. Tharoor took to social media and wrote on X (formerly twitter) making a heartfelt plea to the BCCI and asking if there's still a chance to convince Kohli to reconsider his decision. Shashi Tharoor on missing Kohli onto the field 'I've been missing Virat Kohli a few times during this series, but never as much as in this Test match. His grit and intensity, his inspirational presence in the field, not to mention his abundant batting skills, might have led to a different outcome. Is it too late to call him out of retirement? Virat, the nation needs you,' Tharoor tweeted. I've been missing @imVkohli a few times during this series, but never as much as in this Test match. His grit and intensity, his inspirational presence in the field, not to mention his abundant batting skills, might have led to a different outcome. Is it too late to call him out… — Shashi Tharoor (@ShashiTharoor) August 3, 2025 On May 12, a few days after reports emerged that Kohli had decided to say goodbye to the format he loved so much, he announced his retirement from Test cricket. Following his heartbreaking Instagram post, Kohli is yet to provide a suitable explanation, but he still holds Test cricket in the highest regard. After RCB won their maiden IPL trophy Kohli said that he keeps Test cricket five levels above the rest after RCB IPL win, and just last month he said that, 'you know it's time when you have to dye your beard every four days.' Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the format five days before Virat Kohli. He also made an appearance at The Oval on Saturday. Kohli, meanwhile, has kept a low profile, except for his appearances at Wimbledon and an event hosted by Yuvraj Singh in London.

Stuart Broad subs salt on Washington Sundar's wounds as India all-rounder made to eat his words: ‘That made me smile'

Remember the Lord's Test between England and India in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy? Shoaib Bashir's delivery to Mohammed Siraj comes to mind. The India No.11 played a perfect forward defence only to see the ball rolling back onto the stumps as England registered a famous 22-run win to gain a 2-1 lead in the series. The five-match series hangs in the balance with all results possible on the final day of the fifth Test at the Oval, and ahead of the upcoming crucial day, former England pacer Stuart Broad revealed his favourite moment from the series, and it is from the Lord's Test, where Ben Stokes was adjudged as Player of the Match. Stuart Broad rubs salt on Washington Sundar's wounds. (PTI) Chasing 193, India lost four wickets in the final session on Day 4 with Yashasvi Jaiwal, Karun Nair, Shubman Gill and Akash Deep losing their wickets. However, at stumps, Washington Sundar exuded confidence, saying India would definitely win the contest. However, the next day, India failed to do so and to make matters worse, the all-rounder fell for a duck off the bowling of Jofra Archer. Broad recalled Sundar's words and then the subsequent failure as his favourite moment of the series. 'My favourite moment from the series was when Washington Sundar, in an interview before batting, said that 'India would definitely win this Test',' said Stuart Broad on Sky Sports. Also Read: R Ashwin tears into Gill, Gambhir for 'lack of game awareness': 'You can't commit these mistakes in today's day and age' "Washington Sundar chipped one back to Jofra Archer, beautiful catch, and he went back for zero. It did make me smile," he added. Nasser Hussain's favourite moment The Lord's Test marked the beginning of heightened tensions between India and England. On Day 3, Zak Crawley got under the skin of India captain Shubman Gill as the former employed time-wasting tactics, ensuring the visitors didn't get a second over in before stumps. Seeing Crawley's tactics, Gill went close to the stump mic, asking the England openers to 'grow some f****** b****.' Days later, Gill revealed that England were 90 seconds late to the crease, and this was the main reason behind his frustration. 'Day 3 at Lord's, Crawley and Ben Duckett. Stalling, not only to get out in the middle, but when they got out there, Crawley backing away as Bumrah ran in. Shubman Gill asking Crawley to grow some. Mohammed Siraj, as ever. Whenever there is a round, Siraj pops in and joins the fun,' said Hussain. Speaking of the fifth and final Test at the Oval, England need 35 runs to win the series 3-1. On the other hand, India need four wickets to make it 2-2. There is everything to play for on Day 5 of the Oval Test.
