How are you preparing youth to be more job-ready?
Answer- I have the unique distinction of handling both Bharat and India-education for Bharat, and IT and electronics for India. It's not just about educating our youth but also about creating job opportunities. So we are revamping our curriculum from KG to PG to make it future- and skills-ready.

With initiatives like the upcoming Quantum Valley in Amaravati and the rise of AI and machine learning, we need to upskill our young population. Under Mr Naidu's leadership, the Telugu community led the IT revolution. Now, we must prepare them for the next wave-in AI, ML, and quantum computing.
Q: What is your approach under the Taliki Vandanam scheme?
It began during my padayatra. I noticed deeply rooted gender stereotypes, even in early education. When I became minister, I reviewed first and second grade textbooks. All household work was shown being done by women. I asked-why should it be this way?
My wife Brahmani and I lived in the US and shared responsibilities equally. I believe such values must start from primary education. So, we changed visuals in textbooks, and we're speaking out against phrases like "don't cry like a girl" or "are you wearing bangles?"
Taliki Vandanam is more than a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme. It's about instilling respect for mothers and women. The Mega PTM is part of this broader cultural shift-to get blessings from mothers and honour them in society.
Q: Were you ever scared of PTMs as a schoolboy?
Lokesh: I'm my mother's son. My father was usually away, so my mother raised me. She attended the PTMs, and I was quite a naughty child. So yes, I got a proper scolding at home afterwards!
Q: Do you support the National Education Policy, especially the three-language formula?
Lokesh: Absolutely. The TDP's support for the Prime Minister is unconditional. We believe in his leadership. When I met Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhanji, he emphasised the importance of mother tongue-not Hindi imposition.
We support teaching multiple languages-three, four, or even five. Job markets are global, and we are teaching Japanese, German, and more. We should embrace Hindi too-it's our national language, and we have no objection.
Q: But does the three-language policy threaten the Telugu identity?
Lokesh: Not at all. Why are we pitting languages against one another? That's politically motivated. Our conversation with the Centre is about strengthening education in the mother tongue. Language isn't a threat-it's a bridge. The more languages our children learn, the stronger our unity as a nation.
Q: How has parenting changed over generations? What's the biggest challenge today?
Lokesh: Earlier, joint families taught us to share, serve elders, and communicate. Today, with nuclear families and work stress, children are often raised by Instagram or Inshorts. Socialization has moved online.
We still live in a joint family, and I encourage all parents to involve grandparents. That generational value transfer is crucial. As a nation, we must revive the strength of family systems.

Hyderabad, Aug 19 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy today appealed to all political parties across the Telugu states to rise above politics and support Justice Sudarshan Reddy, who has been declared as the Vice-Presidential candidate by the INDIA bloc. Addressing a press conference at his residence in Jubilee Hills, the Chief Minister said the announcement has brought immense pride to the Telugu people, particularly Telangana. 'After PV Narasimha Rao, it is a matter of honour that a Telugu son from an agricultural family is being fielded for such a high constitutional post,' he said. Reddy contrasted the INDIA alliance's decision with that of the NDA, which he accused of 'vote theft and mocking democracy.' He stressed that the INDIA alliance is fighting to uphold the Constitution with the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi. Calling Justice Sudarshan Reddy a non-political legal expert of high repute, the Chief Minister said, 'He does not belong to any political party. He is a constitutional expert and Chairman of the Independent Expert Committee. This candidature is beyond politics, and it is the responsibility of every Telugu to ensure his victory.' Revanth recalled the political maturity shown in 1991 when TDP founder N T Rama Rao extended support to P V Narasimha Rao, who contested from Nandyal. 'Today, the same wisdom is needed,' he remarked. The Chief Minister appealed to leaders, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, the Left parties, and even BJP MPs from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to support Justice Sudarshan Reddy. For Veep Battle, Revanth Reddy's Challenge To Andhra, Telangana Parties
New Delhi: The NDA move to pick a Tamil leader as its Vice-Presidential candidate -- in another effort to play the Tamil card -- appears to have led its southern allies into a dilemma as the Opposition INDIA bloc came up with an equally strong response. The NDA has picked CP Radhakrishnan, one of BJP's party's tallest leaders from Tamil Nadu, to wrong-foot the state's ruling DMK in the coming state elections. The choice before the DMK was tricky - go for a Tamil candidate or against him and support the INDIA Bloc pick. The shoe is now on the other foot. The INDIA bloc has attempted to turn the tables on the NDA, picking Justice Sudershan Reddy, a retired Supreme Court judge, this afternoon. His Telugu heritage is helping the Opposition bait not just NDA ally Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party, but also the state's Opposition YSR Congress and the Telangana's Opposition Telangana Rashtra Samithi. While the Opposition is hoping that Mr Naidu would alienate his Telugu voters with his refusal, the TRS stands the risk of being called the "B Team" of the BJP in case they refuse. Both TDP and YSRCP have promised to support the NDA candidate. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy laid the groundwork today with an open invitation to Mr Naidu, Jaganmohan Reddy of YSR Congress, TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM -- the Hyderabad MP -- to support the Opposition candidate. "When the Congress conducted census in Telangana, Justice Sudarshan Reddy was the chairman of the independent advisory committee. With his advice, the cabinet and the assembly passed the 2 per cent reservation for the Other Backward Classes. That is now pending with the President," Mr Reddy said in a dig at the NDA. "On the other hand, the NDA stopped the 42 per cent reservation going against the constitution. Justice Sudershan Reddy is the representative of those who tried to wrong the OBCs. Justice Reddy is not OBC but he stands with the OBCs," he added in a clear message to the people. The NDA candidate, CP Radhakrishnan, belongs to the OBC community. He was picked with a keen eye on the caste equation as was Jagdeep Dhankhar, a Jat and Droupadi Murmu, who belongs to the ST community. Two former vice presidents -- Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and R Venkataraman -- were Brahmins. Going by concrete numbers, the NDA clearly has an edge. With the combined strength of both houses standing at 786, the majority mark is 394. The NDA's combined strength in the two houses is 422 -- 293 members in the Lok Sabha and 129 in the Rajya Sabha. But the Opposition is keen not just to force an election and reinforce their unity but also to pitch the contest as a larger ideological battle -- especially after their long confrontation with Jagdeep Dhankhar in the Rajya Sabha.

Sudershan Reddy's candidature strengthens our collective resolve to safeguard democracy, says Stalin
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin congratulated retired Supreme Court judge B. Sudershan Reddy on being named INDIA bloc's Vice-Presidential candidate. 'I wholeheartedly congratulate Thiru B. Sudershan Reddy on being chosen as the vice-presidential candidate of the Opposition,' he said. Mr. Reddy was a jurist of integrity and independence, and a champion of civil liberties and social justice, and upheld constitutional values throughout his career, Mr. Stalin said. 'At a time when our institutions are under strain, his candidature strengthens our collective resolve to safeguard democracy and protect the spirit of the Constitution,' he added. Contending that all the independent institutions meant to safeguard democracy had been turned into the 'subsidiary bodies of the ruling party', and that the Constitution was in danger, he said, 'In such a situation, the responsibility before us is to support only the one who believes in India's fundamental ideals of secularism, federalism, social justice, and unity in diversity.' Mr. Stalin alleged that the BJP-led government at the Centre was 'continuously inflicting injustice on Tamil Nadu' — refusing to accept the State's rightful demands such as exemption from NEET, recognition of Keeladi's antiquity, fairness in fund devolution, and release of educational funds. 'Through Governors, it has been running a parallel government and blocking the functioning of State governments, while engaging in efforts to weaken institutions of higher education.' The DMK was consistently and vociferously raising its voice in Parliament against the unconstitutional denial of the State rights, the centralisation of power, the rising tide of hate propaganda, and the relentless imposition of Hindi and Sanskrit — 'all of which dig a grave for the Constitution and attempt to bury it', Mr. Stalin said. The DMK president said 'secular-spirited people of Tamil Nadu' had, in successive elections, overwhelmingly voted for the MPs and MLAs of the DMK-led alliance to defend the rights of the State and safeguard the Constitution. 'This decision stands as both a reaffirmation of the people's faith and a mark of respect for their mandate and sentiment.' 'As someone who can create space for constructive debates in Parliament, conduct the House by giving the rightful place to the voice of the Opposition, and as a democrat who has faith in the Constitution and in the principles of federalism, pluralism, social justice, and linguistic rights — Mr. Sudershan Reddy stands. As the opposite of anti-federalism, authoritarianism, and the trend of spreading hatred — Mr. Sudershan Reddy stands,' he said.
