In Pudu, wife shocked after learning policeman husband was stabbed during KL patrol
Norfazliana Osman, 35, said she was at their home in the Pudu police quarters when Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, contacted her around 1 pm on Thursday.
'They said they needed to operate immediately and asked for consent as part of his intestines might need to be removed due to the stab wound,' she told reporters at the hospital today.
Her husband, Corporal Mohd Nadzri Sudiman, remains in stable condition but is still weak and requires pain management, she said.
'I understand the risks of his job as a policeman, but as a wife, the fear is always there,' said Norfazliana, who has two children aged 11 and seven.
She said it is uncertain how long her husband will remain hospitalised, but confirmed their children have been informed of his condition.
Earlier, Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay visited Mohd Nadzri at the hospital.
Also present were Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, Bukit Aman Management (Administration) deputy director Datuk Azizee Ismail, Wangsa Maju district police chief ACP Mohd Lazim Ismail and Cheras district police chief ACP Aidil Bolhassan.
Mohd Nadzri was seriously injured after being stabbed in the abdomen by a 56-year-old local man while patrolling with four other officers in Pudu Market, Jalan Yew.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and has been remanded until next Thursday. The case is being investigated under Section 307 and Section 186 of the Penal Code for attempted murder and obstructing a public servant, as well as Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — Bernama

IGP: Stop circulating unverified content on Zara Qairina's murder
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have warned the public against spreading inaccurate information and images related to the Zara Qairina case on social media. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail said such actions could jeopardise the ongoing investigation and deny justice to those involved. "The police have detected the circulation of false claims and photographs of a child allegedly linked to the case, which have been uploaded and shared by certain individuals. "The information being shared is inaccurate and has the potential to mislead the public. "Such actions can not only compromise the ongoing investigation but also jeopardise justice for all parties involved," he said in a statement. Khalid reminded the public that such acts are offences under Section 15 of the Child Act 2001, which prohibits the disclosure of information on the identity, address, school name, and photographs of children involved; Section 203A of the Penal Code for disclosure of information; and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities or network services. He said all investigation processes, including the post-mortem, were being carried out in accordance with existing procedures and legal provisions. He said that compliance with the law was fundamental to the nation's peace and wellbeing, warning that any violations would be met with stern action. Earlier, the Attorney-General's Chambers (A-GC) called on the public to stop circulating unverified information, including images of children allegedly linked to the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir. It has returned the full preliminary investigation report on the death of Zara to the police. Decomposing body of elderly woman found in locked flat
The body of Halimatun Yusoff was found in the living room of her residence after firefighters forced open a locked door. PETALING JAYA : The decomposing body of an elderly woman was found at her residence in Flat Sri Guchil, Kuala Krai, Kelantan, this afternoon. Kuala Krai fire and rescue station operations commander Khairul Duha Abdul Halim said the body of Halimatun Yusoff, 69, who lived alone, was found at 2.08pm in the living room after firefighters forced open a locked door. 'We received a distress call at 2.04pm from police seeking assistance to open the door to the unit following a complaint of a foul smell. 'After the door was opened, our team found the decomposing body of an elderly woman who had died in the living room,' Bernama reported him as saying today.

Elderly man beaten to death, son nabbed
Kuala Krai police chief Mazlan Mamat said the suspect would be taken to the magistrates' court tomorrow for a remand application. PETALING JAYA : An elderly man is believed to have been beaten to death with a blunt object in Kampung Baru Kuala Gris, Dabong, Kelantan early this morning. Kuala Krai police chief Mazlan Mamat said police received an emergency call about the incident at 7.30am from a member of the public. He said a team from the Kuala Krai police headquarters and Dabong police station rushed to the location and found the 74-year-old victim lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen. 'Initial investigations show the victim was struck on the head with a blunt object, which caused serious injuries. He was confirmed dead at the location. 'Police detained the victim's 30-year-old son and seized a broken chair,' Bernama reported him as saying. Mazlan said the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine in initial urine tests. He was a former inmate of the Batu Jong satellite prison in Kuala Krai for drug trafficking, having been released in early July. 'Since his release, the suspect has been living with the victim and his mother. Checks also found that the suspect has seven previous criminal records, five related to drug cases and two cases of criminal intimidation,' he said. Mazlan said the victim's body was sent to the Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital's forensic unit for a post-mortem. The suspect will be brought to the magistrates' court tomorrow for a remand application. He said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
