A wild comment has left Reese Witherspoon's daughter grossed out

News.com.au17-06-2025
A wild comment about her romantic relationship has horrified Reese Witherspoon's and Ryan Phillippe's daughter.
Ava Phillippe, 25, has recently been on a TikTok posting spree, sharing cute videos of herself and her musician boyfriend, Dakota Brubaker, to her more than a million followers.
It was all going well until someone decided to compare her and her current boyfriend to her parents - yes, her parents.
'Close enough. Welcome back, Reece and Ryan,' the person commented.
The 25-year-old posted a video response to the accusation, yelling, 'No, no, no' while waving her hands around in protest.
'You guys … what,' she captioned the video.
Her objection didn't really work.
It just made more people comment, claiming that her boyfriend looked like her dad and that she looked like her mum.
'If not cruel intentions why cruel intentions shaped?' One asked.
'I see it. Literal Reese and Ryan,' someone claimed.
'Your parents are iconic. Own it,' another instructed.
Ava's movie star parents met in the 1990s, starred in Cruel Intentions together, got married in 1999, had two children, Ava and Deacon, and divorced in 2008.
Outside of being disgusted that people are comparing her relationship to that of her divorced parents, Ava often goes viral because she looks so much like her mum.
People have gone so far as to claim they look like 'twins,' and Ava's life is pretty unrelatable because of her celebrity upbringing.
She attended The University of California but has dabbled in modelling and has most recently turned her hand to acting with guest roles in shows like Doctor Oddessy.
While Ava has stayed away from mainstream media, her mum, Reese, did open up about parenting adult children on the US Today Show.
'First of all, you're managing them a lot when they're little, and it's very physical, and then it's more emotional support. And suggestions, not telling them what to do when they get a little bit older,' she said.
She also stressed that you must 'nurture' your adult relationships with your children while still giving them 'space and respect' to become who they are.
Witherspoon went on to emphasise the importance of maintaining a healthy bond with her children.
'You have to really nurture your adult relationship with your children too. And give them respect and space to become who they are, not who you want them to be,' she said.

‘Too much free time': Brooklyn Beckham's vow renewal doesn't go down well

Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz-Beckham's decision to renew their vows less than three years into their marriage, has gone down like a lead balloon. The couple, no strangers to being called 'out of touch,' recommitted to each other in a private celebration at the Peltz family estate just outside of New York City and it has already become a controversial event. The pair re-said their vows fresh from a European vacation – although it's unclear if either of them actually had 9-5 work to take a break from. Once they'd said 'I do' all over again, they both separately flocked to social media to share photos from their intimate vow renewal. It quickly became very clear that none of Brooklyn's close family were in attendance. Brooklyn's siblings and parents are all on vacation together in Europe, Posh Spice was AWOL but Nicola's billionaire gang was front and centre. This has certainly done nothing to squash rumours that Brooklyn has fallen out with his famous family – a rumour that been plaguing the 26-year-old since he tied the knot three years ago. It was spotlighted by the fact that Nicola opted not to wear one of Victoria Beckman's designs on her wedding day. For their vow renewal Nicola continued to not wear a Victoria Beckham design and instead paid homage to her own mother. She wore a repurposed version of her mum's wedding dress from 1985. She even added a tiara. On Instagram, Brooklyn shared their new wedding photos, captioning them, 'Forever my girl.' In another post, he wrote, 'My only love', but their lovefest didn't go down well on social media. In fact, their vow renewals raised eyebrows for two separate reasons. Firstly, people are not fond of the grand display of wealth during a cost of living crisis. 'Just a bunch of rich kids wondering what to do with their parent's money and excessive free time,' one claimed. 'It is a gratuitous display of wealth. A completely unnecessary event,' another argued. 'When you're rich and have too much free time on your hands,' someone else joked. 'Renewed vows already? I think they need jobs,' one said. 'This is so cringe and desperate,' someone else said. 'Too much money and too much time. No goals and nothing else better to do,' one noted. If people weren't fuming over what some claimed was an 'unnecessary' second wedding, they were stunned that the 26-year-old would have a second wedding with none of his immediate family in attendance. 'Heartbreaking for his parents,' one wrote, while another called it 'spiteful' and someone else declared it to be 'awful behaviour'. 'Such an embarrassment. What are you doing?' another asked. Yet another social media user went as far to claim the photos looked 'staged' and said the vow renewal looked like a thinly veiled attempt to 'piss off' his parents.

Reese Witherspoon cried 'working 14 to 17 hour' days as as single mom

Reese Witherspoon was "deliriously tired" and "cried" when she was "working 14 to 17 hour" days as as single mom . The Legally Blonde star has opened up about raising her two children - Ava, 25, and Deacon, 21 - following her split from their father Ryan Phillippe in 2006 while trying to maintain her career in Hollywood and she has confessed it left her feeling totally wiped out. In a post on Instagram, Reese, 49, shared a series of pictures of her with her children when they were younger and admitted it was "really hard sometimes". She wrote,: "Someone asked me what raising three kids and building a career in Hollywood looked like ... "It looked like spending a lot of time in trailers together ... It looked like always being on the road together ... It looked like my kids constantly giving me career advice! ... It looked really hard sometimes ... " She added: "I'd cry working 14 to 17 hours, sometimes all night long and still woke up early for carpool. I was deliriously tired. "It looked like trying to say something positive about work when I got home at night. So my kids would know that my work was meaningful to me and could be fun!' Reese ended her post by declaring the tough times were all worth it, writing: "In conclusion, even though it was challenging at times, having kids gave me perspective about what was important in life. "Nothing was better than getting to come home and hug them and hear about their day! Grateful to stand alongside other moms in this beautiful, messy journey ... Tag the working mom who needs this." Reese was in her early 20s when she first became a mom and she previously admitted she was "terrified" about becoming a mother at such a young age. During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Reese explained: "To be completely candid, I was terrified ... "I got pregnant when I was 22 years old, and I didn't know how to balance work and motherhood, you just do it. "I didn't know if I was going to have steady work, too. I made movies but I hadn't established myself as someone who could demand that it shoot close to my kids' school ... "I was just like every other mom and dad trying to figure it out. There's a lot of compromise. Every bit of that sacrifice is truly worth it. You feel like that's what makes me wake up on a Sunday, it's not movies or my job, it's my kids."
