Val Kilmer was bedridden for years before his tragic death: report
Val Kilmer was reportedly bed-bound for years before he tragically died from pneumonia at the age of 65 on Tuesday.
Sources close to the 'Batman Forever' star told TMZ Wednesday that he suffered from a lack of energy due to his past cancer treatment.
According to the outlet, Kilmer became 'frail' and his health declined in the past week. His loved ones visited him in the hospital in the days before his passing.
He had previously been hospitalized earlier this year, though the reason is unknown.
Per the outlet, Val's daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, 33, and son, Jack Kilmer, 29, are planning their late father's funeral.
Before becoming bedridden, he was last seen in public with his daughter at the Thespians Go Hollywood Gala in 2019.
Reps for Val weren't immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Val's health issues started in 2015 when he was diagnosed with throat cancer. However, he was declared cancer-free in 2021.
The 'Willow' star lost his ability to speak after undergoing two tracheotomies during chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Despite not being able to talk, the actor reprised his role as Lt. Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky in the 2022 film 'Top Gun: Maverick' and spoke with the assistance of artificial intelligence technology.
Mercedes, meanwhile, confirmed to the New York Times that the 'Top Gun' star had died at his Los Angeles estate on Tuesday.
She and her mom, Joanne Whalley, were photographed embracing outside her West Hollywood, Calif., home, the following day.
Val and Whalley met in 1986 while filming the 1988 film 'Willow.'
The exes wed in 1988 and divorced in 1996 shortly after the actress gave birth to Jack.
Val previously told the Tampa Bay Times that he found out about his 'divorce while watching CNN in a hotel room' and referred to it as 'the second most expensive in New Mexico.'

Canfield author publishes new book
BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — One Canfield Native is celebrating the release of her new book filled with fantasy, adventure and rock 'n' roll. When Joan Reardon was a kid, her mom would bring her to the Boardman Barnes & Noble, where she gravitated toward fantasy books like 'Harry Potter' and 'Percy Jackson.' 'There has never been a time in my life where I wasn't writing,' Reardon said. 'My parents love to tell a story of when I was a baby and I would just scribble on pieces of paper and stack them on top of each other and say, 'I wrote a book.'' Twenty years later, she returned to that same store to find her own new book, 'Dad Rock Dragon Quest,' on the shelves — right next to the books she once fell in love with. 'It's about a family that's a blended family that goes on an adventure to rescue a dragon from magical poachers,' Reardon said. 'Simultaneously, it also features, you know, a lot of rock and roll, plenty of references to like 'Top Gun' and eighties action movies. So it's kind of a story for the whole family.' This is Reardon's second book to be published and sold in thousands of stores across the country, but it holds a special place in her heart. She says many aspects of the story are based on her husband, whom she married shortly after finishing the book in 2023. 'We did, I think, one round of edits, and then we sent it out to the publisher, and we didn't hear back for about two months,' Reardon said. 'And then, the night of our rehearsal dinner, we got news that it was going to be published. So two reasons to celebrate.' Reardon wrote the book in between her law school classes, and, over the past year and a half, she has worked with Simon & Schuster publishing company to get ready for the book's grand release, which was on June 3. 'There's a lot of love and work that goes into the book from, you know, dozens of people. And so everyone's very, very excited to finally have it in stores,' Reardon said. So far, the book has already received a starred review from Publishers Weekly and been picked as a gold standard selection from the Junior Library Guild. But she's not stopping there — she's already putting the finishing touches on the first draft of her next book. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Brooklyn Beckham Intensifies Family Feud With Strict Warning
The drama within the Beckhams' household continues, with Brooklyn Beckham allegedly choosing his in-laws over his family. The oldest of Victoria and David Beckham's four children has been making waves for a strained relationship with his parents and siblings over his marriage to Nicola Peltz. From skipping out on his father's 50th birthday to other non-appearances at significant family events, Brooklyn Beckham has repeatedly raised eyebrows for seemingly pushing the Beckhams away. However, other sources blame the tension on his parents, especially Victoria Beckham. According to new reports, Brooklyn drew the line with his parents and siblings by warning them to stay away from him and his wife. A source alleged that he wanted zero communication with them, saying: "Brooklyn told his family he wants no contact, and he's not responding to those that try to connect." The media personality's decision to stay clear of his family follows reports of his blossoming relationship with his in-laws. Page Six noted that other sources claimed Brooklyn had grown closer to his wife's parents, billionaire Nelson Peltz and his wife Claudia. Their bond allegedly deepened thanks to the rift with his parents, including the drama linked to his 2022 wedding. The outlet's source, who alleged Brooklyn demanded his parents and siblings stop contacting him, claimed David and Victoria respected his wishes by not telling him about the patriarch's knighthood. However, another insider shared a different narrative. The source explained that Brooklyn and his wife found out about David's big honor "through the media." They implied the couple would have wanted to hear the news directly from the football icon, saying: "Brooklyn is so happy for his dad as he knows it was something important to him, but there was no communication, and no one from the family reached out." More sources blamed the lack of communication between Brooklyn and his parents on him, claiming he was at fault for not contacting his family. Others echoed similar sentiments, noting the media personality and his wife allegedly skipped David's 50th birthday bash intentionally. Previous reports noted the couple skipped the event over Brooklyn's "situationship" with his younger brother Romeo's then-girlfriend Kim Turnbull. However, sources claimed he and his wife excused themselves by alleging they had to be in NYC to prepare Peltz's outfit for the Met Gala. Despite their claims of needing to attend a dress fitting ahead of the event, it was eventually revealed that they were not invited to the annual Gala. Another reason for the tense relationship between the couple and the Beckhams reportedly stemmed from their bond with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Last month, The Blast shared that the reported tension between the Beckham-Peltz couple and the Beckhams had seemingly influenced their decision to protect their image. They hired British solicitor Jenny Afia, the same lawyer the Sussexes used for their "reputation management." Meghan, per reports, referred the lawyer to the Beckham-Peltz couple after bonding with the actress over their image as "the women to tear apart their husbands' families." The Duchess of Sussex and Peltz grew closer during an intimate dinner party in Montecito hosted by Brian Robbins, chief executive at Paramount Pictures. A source claimed the bond between the Sussexes and the Beckham-Peltz couple did not sit right with Victoria and David, who were once pals with Meghan and Harry. The Beckhams fell out with the royal pair after they were accused of leaking stories, allegations that reportedly left them "furious." The root of the problems between the Beckham-Peltz couple and the Beckhams reportedly started in 2022. The Blast covered the story, reporting that sources blamed Victoria for inciting the bad blood by intentionally ruining her daughter-in-law's wedding ceremony. They accused her of stealing Peltz's first dance with Brooklyn, noting Marc Anthony had promised to perform a song at the event as his gift to the couple. The night started fine, with the groom taking the stage at the singer's request, but he called Victoria to join him instead of Peltz. "It was such a jaw-dropping moment that it left the whole room in absolute shock — you could hear a pin drop…It wasn't appropriate," a source recalled. They claimed the incident broke Peltz's heart, and she ran out of the room crying, completely devasted by Victoria's betrayal. Will Brooklyn Beckham and his wife ever reconcile with Victoria and David Beckham?

Brad Pitt admits to mistakes after Angelina Jolie divorce is finalized: ‘Learn from it and move on'
Brad Pitt admitted to he's made mistakes in his life after he and Angelina Jolie finalized their drawn-out divorce. The 'Fight Club' actor got candid about having to navigate through life's ups and downs while chatting with 'Entertainment Tonight' at the 'F1' premiere in Mexico City Monday night. 'No matter the mistake, you know, you just learn from [it] and move on,' he told the outlet when asked what's making him 'feel grounded.' 'It'll lead to the next success,' the 61-year-old dad of six, who showed off his new buzz cut, added. Pitt, who is now dating Ines de Ramon, said that at his age, he sees 'how important it is to surround yourself with the people you know, the people you love, the people that love you back.' 'Friends, family, and that's it,' he added. 'From there, we get to go make things. It's a pretty simple, I think, equation.' Pitt's comments come two weeks after he broke his silence on finalizing his split from Jolie, 50, after eight long years. When GQ asked the 'Meet Joe Black' star if he felt 'relief' when he and the 'Maleficent' actress legally settled their split at the end of last year, he replied: 'No, I don't think it was that major of a thing.' 'Just something coming to fruition. Legally,' he added. The exes settled their divorce in December 2024, more than eight years after Jolie had initially filed for the dissolution of their marriage in September 2016. 'More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family,' the mom of six's lawyer, James Simon, told Page Six at the time. 'This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.' The 'Maria' star's legal team filed court documents stating that she had waived 'any right to receive' spousal support from Pitt 'forever.' The 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' co-stars share six kids together: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16. None of the children are on speaking terms with Pitt and several of them have even opted to drop his last name.
