It Ends With Us actress Isabela Ferrer accuses Justin Baldoni of harassment amid his legal battle with Blake Lively

Perth Now3 days ago
It Ends With Us actress Isabela Ferrer has accused the flick's director Justin Baldoni of 'harassing' her for information after she was subpoenaed amid his legal battle with Blake Lively.
Lively filed a lawsuit in December against Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios team, along with their publicist and crisis PR representatives, alleging sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign. The defendants have denied the allegations.
Baldoni's $400 million countersuit was dismissed by the judge in June.
Ferrer was subpoenaed by Lively in February, and has since been subpoenaed by Baldoni.
And, the up-and-coming actress' legal team has filed a rebuttal "for improper purposes" with "the aim of harassing' on August 12, according to People.
What's more Ferrer - who portrayed a younger version of Blake Lively's character Lily Bloom in the 2024 romantic drama - has alleged that when she came to request Baldoni's production company, Wayfarer Studios, pay her legal fees, she didn't receive anything and was allegedly told she would have to 'relinquish control of her response to the Lively subpoena to Wayfarer.'
Her lawyers stated in the court documents: 'From that point forward, Baldoni has tried to manipulate, threaten, control and otherwise act inappropriately towards Ms. Ferrer."
They added that it's 'yet another attempt to manipulate the press, to create havoc on a young, up-and-coming and talented actress and to violate this Court's policies on the publishing of non-party personally identifying information.'
Her team accused Baldoni of bullying her.
They said: 'Ms. Ferrer has already had to resist Baldoni's inappropriate conduct in connection with her response to the Lively Subpoena.
'Unfortunately, the Motion is just the latest in a broader pattern of conduct by Baldoni to bully Ms. Ferrer.
'While Ms. Ferrer will faithfully comply with her legal obligations under any subpoena, summons or court order, she obviously will not be intimidated or extorted by any party to otherwise participate in the proceedings.'
Ferrer has asked the court to "deny the Motion in its entirety and impose appropriate sanctions against Baldoni."

John Mayer is 'going with the flow' and doesn't know when he'll release his next album

John Mayer has enough songs to put out a new album - but he's taking a "breather" for now. The 47-year-old rock star hasn't put out a record since 2021's Sob Rock, and while he's been enjoying freely making music and touring, he's admitted he wants to continue living in the moment and has no plans to release a follow-up for the time being. He told People: "I don't know when it's coming out, but I've been going around making music, touring, making music, touring for a lot of years, and I think it would make sense at this stage in my life [to] just take a breather and figure out when I want to do it and how I want to do it. "So I'm enjoying just taking it day-by-day and doing the projects I love." He continued: "I have enough songs that I could put a record out right now. "But if I put a record out right now, I would want to go on the road, and I just want to take a minute and practice this newfound going with the flow." Mayer has been inspired to "let go" by the Grateful Dead, who he's been touring with since 2015. On what the legendary band has taught him, he said: "Let it happen — and I have to relearn that all the time." He expanded: "The number of times that they've winged it or we've winged it, and I said, 'You can't wing it.' No. I realised the irony. This is the [Grateful] Dead, or this is Bob [Weir] and Mickey [Hart] and Billy Kreutzmann from the Dead, but my thing was always, 'Oh, you got to stretch it. "Some of the best shows we've ever played were just letting it go and playing, and so it's taught me how to do that."

The Kelly Clarkson Show reportedly won't be delayed following Brandon Blackstock's death

The Kelly Clarkson Show's filming schedule reportedly won't be impacted by the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. The talent manager died on August 7, aged 48, of natural causes after battling malignant melanoma. Kelly postponed her Las Vegas residency in order to spend more time with their children, River, 11, and Remington, nine, right before his death. In an update regarding her work schedule, a source told Deadline that Kelly missed one shoot for The Voice earlier this month following his passing, but that she was returning this week to film the NBC talent show. Reba McEntire, who was stepmother to Brandon, also filmed her appearance for Season 28. As for her eponymous talk show, production is said to be due to kick off as planned in a matter of weeks. As reported by the outlet, the programme is "on track to start production in early September as scheduled, with tickets available on studio audience sites." Brandon's death was announced by a family representative on the day he died. They told People at the time: "It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. "Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time." The 43-year-old pop star - who endured an acrimonious split from the talent manager - had announced on X shortly before his passing: "Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. "While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children's father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them." Although the singer revealed that Brandon was ill, she didn't share any other details about his sickness.

Aubrey Plaza describes grief as 'a giant ocean of awfulness' following suicide of husband Jeff Baena

Aubrey Plaza has described her grief as "a giant ocean of awfulness" following the death of her estranged husband, Jeff Baena. The screenwriter and director took his own life on January 3, aged 47, with his body discovered at his home in Los Angeles, California, by his dog walker. Plaza - who had separated from Baena in September 2024 - admits every day is a "struggle" as she continues to mourn the painful loss seven months on. Asked how she is doing by her Parks and Recreation co-star Amy Poehler on her Good Hang podcast, she said: 'Right in this very, very present moment, I feel happy to be with you. Overall, I'm here and I'm functioning. I feel really grateful to be moving through the world. I think I'm okay, but it's like a daily struggle, obviously." She continued: 'This is a really dumb analogy and it was kind of a joke at a certain point, but I actually mean it. Did you see that movie The Gorge? It's like [an] alien movie or something with Miles Teller. In the movie, there's like a cliff on one side and there's a cliff on the other side, then there's gorge in between and it's filled with all these like monster people that are trying to get them. 'I swear when I watched it, I was like that feels like what my grief is like … or what grief could be like. 'At all times there's like a giant ocean of awfulness, that's like right there and I can see it. Sometimes I just want to dive into it, and just like be in it. Then sometimes I just look at it, and sometimes I try to get away from it. But, it's always there.' Breaking her silence on his death three days later, Plaza had said in a statement given to People: "This is an unimaginable tragedy. "We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. "Please respect our privacy during this time."
