Play For Dream MR Headset Powers Next-Gen LBE Experiences at AWE USA 2025
Play For Dream MR headset demonstrates commercial-ready solutions for arcades and entertainment venues, backed by ecosystem partnerships and SteamVR breakthroughs.
LONG BEACH, Calif., June 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Play For Dream, a global pioneer in spatial computing, showcased the world's first Android-based spatial computer at Augmented World Expo (AWE) USA 2025, featuring an 8K Micro-OLED display with world-leading 14ms VST latency plus hand and eye tracking. The device drew record crowds to Booth #631, where attendees queued for immersive demos while venue operators explored large-scale deployment opportunities, validating its mission to make "Spatial Computing Get Real" in commercial entertainment.
Transforming Location-Based Entertainment
Play For Dream MR delivers turnkey solutions for arcades and family entertainment centers (FECs), addressing core industry challenges of low throughput and passive interactions. Attendees experienced three revolutionary demos: In the Gesture-Controlled Jellyfish Aquarium, users manipulated virtual marine life with natural hand movements via precision tracking—no controllers required. The Dino Expedition transformed physical spaces into primeval forests where photorealistic dinosaurs reacted to real-world obstacles, demonstrating seamless environment blending. At the Floating Chess Arena, holographic pieces stabilized flawlessly on physical boards through advanced spatial anchoring, enabling competitive multiplayer matches.
Wireless AAA Gaming Performance
Beyond LBE applications, the headset achieved industry-leading SteamVR streaming for titles like Half-Life: Alyx. Leveraging Wi-Fi 7 and Virtual Desktop optimization, users experienced uncompromised visual fidelity with under ultra-low latency—proving standalone device can deliver desktop-grade VR wirelessly. This breakthrough eliminates tethering constraints while maintaining cinematic immersion.
Strategic Ecosystem Accelerates Deployment
Play For Dream's partnership ecosystem—featuring LBE content partners such as Story Studio and MixWorld—now delivers premium-quality content to broader venues. Story Studio's no-code MR engine, previously developed for Vision Pro, now enables FECs to customize experiences (e.g., dinosaur themes) in hours, not weeks. MixWorld's outdoor XR solutions, proven in high-end headset deployments, now extend spatial entertainment to theme parks and cultural sites at mass-market scale. This integrated "hardware-content-venue" model reduces deployment costs by over 30% while unlocking recurring revenue streams.
Market Validation and Future Vision
The spatial computing revolution is reshaping commercial entertainment, with Location-Based Entertainment (LBE) emerging as a $100+ billion global opportunity by 2030, according to MarketsandMarkets' latest industry analysis. Play For Dream's technology aligns with Disney and Universal's push into mixed-reality attractions. The company also revealed complementary applications in development: A medical rehabilitation program with Tobii leverages attention computing for cognitive therapy, while education-focused deployments are underway across Japan and Southeast Asian museums.
"Think beyond screens—spatial computing sets your creativity free," said Ryan, CMO of Play For Dream Technology. "Whether you're building immersive attractions, developing content, or expanding entertainment venues, our open platform helps you turn bold ideas into reality. Let's collaborate to redefine what's possible." The company invites venue owners, content creators, and distributors to explore partnership opportunities at bd@pfdm.ai.

Photos of 1980s African-Caribbean life in Bradford to be displayed
A selection of photos by a Bradford-based photographer are to go on display at a museum. Victor Wedderburn's photos, which capture 1980s African-Caribbean life in the city, will be shown at the National Science and Media Museum as part of Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture. The photos feature local landmarks such as Lumb Lane's Roots Record Shop and the Perseverance Hotel, as well as sound system parties. Originally from Jamaica, Wedderburn arrived in the UK in 1971 at the age of 16, joining his Windrush Generation parents in Bradford. After losing his job at Crofts Engineers to redundancy in the early 1980s, he used his redundancy pay to buy a second-hand camera and film developing kit. He then began documenting life in the city. A spokesperson said: "Wedderburn's images, in a colour format rarely seen at the time, are an intimate portrait of the world and people that surrounded him." The new display follows Wedderburn's debut exhibition, Frontline 1984/1985, at Loading Bay in Bradford, and consists of a selection of photos from that exhibition. The photos, in the National Science and Media Museum foyer, will be available to view until October 29, 2025. For more information and to book free admission, visit

‘Ed the Zebra' mural painted in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Ed the Zebra has garnered national attention over the last week and a half. Now he's immortalized on a Nashville art piece. The artist who goes only by 'Bandit' is a Los Angeles-based artist. He painted the zebra on a wall along 8th and Edgehill Avenue, if you want to go check it out yourself. 'Bandit' is a traveling artist who does a lot of research on what is going on in cities before he shows up. He usually paints politically motivated murals, but saw that Ed the Zebra was creating a ton of buzz in Nashville so this time he switched it up to something lighthearted. 'Ed the Zebra' captured after 8 days on the loose in TN 'Bandit' says the children in the painting are meant to represent the child-like joy the zebra chase gave to Tennesseans. 'Just showing how we're a bunch of kids chasing animals all the time, it seems like. It seemed like a rat race to catch this zebra. Children always add a humorous, satirical feel to the work as well.' The artist says he did not get permission to paint this mural. News 2 did reach out to the property owner, Graybar Electric Co., and they said they do not mind that the new mural is there. Do you have news happening in your neighborhood? 'Clash of the Cans' mural contest transforms empty lot in Holyoke
HOLYOKE – The Beyond Armour Yard lot on Race and Main streets will come alive with creativity as artists compete in the 'Clash of the Cans' mural contest, while visitors enjoy the interactive BeND sculpture, offering a blend of art and play. Beyond Walls, in collaboration with the city of Holyoke, Mayor Joshua A. Garcia, and local groups, is leading the transformation of the empty lot at Race and Main streets into the vibrant, art-filled space. The event runs until June 14 and promises family fun with art, food and music. The project features six large shipping containers decorated by muralists like Golden 305, Ruben Ubiera, Micaela Levesque, Michael Rice, Corey Pane, Brian Wentworth and Holyoke-based artist Repo09. Besides the murals, the new outdoor space will have areas for refreshments, a flexible setup for future events, and BeND, an interactive sculpture that offers seating, a canopy and a play area. The container 'park' is a semi-permanent installation, secured through a two-year agreement with the city of Holyoke. Funding for this project came from a Mass Development Creative Catalyst Grant, Holyoke Gaming Restitution Funds and the Carlos Vega Social Justice Fund. On June 14, from 5-8 p.m., there will be a free event called 'Clash of the Cans' with live painting, food from Crave Restaurant, beer from White Lion Brewing, and music by local DJs. Residents are encouraged to watch artists race to complete their murals and interact with the community.
