A Tata Curvv. EV owner surprised the internet by using his V2L charging model to pump water in a pit made of plastic sheets for construction purposes.
While Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging has multiple use cases, the feature hasn't been explored enough in the automobile industry. Tata Nexon EV was one of the first electric vehicles that came with a V2L charging model, before it was also incorporated in the Tata Curvv. EV. Now, a video shared online has highlighted the V2L's multi-benefits facility, as seen in the Tata Curvv.EV was seen powering a 1hp water pump at a farm in India.
For beginners, V2L is the technology that helps you use the EV to charge electric tools or gadgets. It comes to your rescue during power outages, emergencies and other scenarios and can reduce reliance on fossil fuel-powered generators and inverters.
Curvv.EV Parking
In the video, one can see a Curvv.EV is parked on a curb. The vehicle has a V2L adapter plugged into its charging port. An electric pump connected to the Tata Cruzz.EV is turned on, which is pumping water from under the ground into a small reservoir. A pit has been designed by the user with plastic sheets spread across to store water that the vehicle's engine is pumping. By the looks of it, the water is being used for cement creation and construction purposes.
The person who is filming the video moves closer to the EV and shows how the water is flowing smoothly with V2L in action. They also claim the vehicle's AC is working at the same time. However, they may have heard the vehicle's battery cooling system working and mistaken it for the AC's sound. As is known, for V2L or even V2V charging facilities, electric vehicles use their battery cooling systems to maintain an optimum temperature range.
Energy Mechanism
The flow of electrical energy, both during charging and discharging, causes the production of heat inside the vehicle. It makes it necessary for efficient and strong cooling systems to be in place for all EVs when they operate on V2L and V2V powering structures. Often, such vehicles have liquid-to-air or liquid-to-liquid heat exchangers installed.
The video grabbed the attention of internet users, who couldn't help but smile watching this Curvv.EV owners pump water by employing the V2L charging. While most manufacturers demonstrate V2L capacity by powering camping equipment, this owner flexed his by pumping water in a pit aimed at storing water for construction purposes.

GK: Top 10 Countries With The Fastest Mobile Internet In 2025

The UAE tops the global mobile internet speed chart in 2025 with 546.14 Mbps, followed by Qatar and Kuwait, as per Speedtest Global Index's latest data. Check full list here. In today's hyper-connected world, where over 5.56 billion people are online globally, mobile internet is increasingly outpacing desktop use, thanks largely to the worldwide rollout of 5G. As internet speeds surge, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has emerged as the global leader in mobile connectivity, boasting the fastest mobile internet in the world. According to the Speedtest Global Index (June 2025) by Ookla, users in the UAE enjoy a median mobile download speed of 546.14 Mbps — a staggering figure that reflects the nation's aggressive investment in digital infrastructure. Closely following are other Gulf countries including Qatar (517.44 Mbps), Kuwait (378.45 Mbps), and Bahrain (236.77 Mbps), further establishing the Middle East as a hotspot for high-speed mobile internet. Interestingly, Brazil (228.89 Mbps) and Bulgaria (224.46 Mbps) have also made their way into the top 10, alongside South Korea (218.06 Mbps), China (201.67 Mbps), Saudi Arabia (198.39 Mbps), and Denmark (196.27 Mbps). The report notes that global median mobile speeds have jumped by more than 80% over the last two years, driven by broader 5G adoption and the growing demand for seamless mobile connectivity. Meanwhile, India has climbed to the 26th position globally, recording a median download speed of 133.51 Mbps. This marks a notable improvement of three spots from its previous ranking, reflecting steady progress in network performance across the country. While the United States, despite its tech dominance, sits at 14th place with 165.57 Mbps, the latest rankings underscore how Asia and the Middle East are leading the world in mobile internet performance in 2025. Hero MotoCorp to roll out slew of new products in Q2

Hero MotoCorp is gearing up for a series of product launches this quarter as part of a broader strategy to strengthen its position in the domestic and international markets. The country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer has lined up new offerings across electric vehicles, internal combustion engine motorcycles, and its premium Harley-Davidson portfolio. These launches are aligned with Hero's renewed focus on expanding its international business footprint. ETAuto had earlier reported that Hero lost its top spot in retail sales in July to Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India. The upcoming launches are expected to serve as a counter to this growing threat. The top management confirmed at the company's Q1 FY26 earnings call that the new models were being developed keeping specific global market requirements in mind. 'We are now making products specifically suited to these global markets,' it added. In the ICE segment, the company plans multiple motorcycle launches in the 125cc category during the current quarter, aimed at strengthening its position in one of the most competitive segments. As for EVs, Hero will expand the Vida range based on evolving consumer needs. 'There will be more offerings in this space as we build consumer requirements into the product portfolio,' said Kausalya Nandakumar, Chief Business Officer, Emerging Mobility. Hero will also roll out its second motorcycle developed under its partnership with Harley-Davidson in Q2, based on the 440cc platform. 'One will be launched very soon... and going forward there are a couple of exciting products which will come in 2026,' said Vikram Kasbekar, CEO, Hero MotoCorp. Global ambitions The company is targeting 10-12 international markets with models tailored to regional demand. 'We would like to have 10 per cent of our revenue and volumes coming through from the global business. So we are quite aggressive as far as the global business is concerned,' said Vivekanand, Chief Financial Officer. The company remains optimistic despite supply chain and geopolitical challenges with the management indicating that production plans remain unaffected in the near term. Rare earth availability is a concern across the auto industry since it affect production of key components in EV motors and sensors (engine speed, wheel speed, bank angle sensors). However, Hero MotoCorp has this shortage covered for both ICE and EV production for this quarter, said the management.

The Fold Test: Can Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 Handle Over 200,000 Fold And Survive?

Samsung's new Galaxy Z Fold 7 model has gotten lighter but how does it handle the durable folding test? Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 version has become lighter and thinner than ever before. The new fold is easy on the pocket (size-wise) and the dimensions make it easy to use with one hand. But has that sleekness come at the cost of durability? One YouTuber decided to test the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with around 200,000 folds using hands in real time to see if the foldable can last these rough challenges and still work as normal. IT Tech is the channel that has tried out this ambitious test and even decided to tell its viewers how the Fold handles thousands of folds at every interval. The YouTuber claimed that the Z Fold 7 rebooted between 6,000 and 10,000 folds without giving the exact reason. Then, around 75,000 folds, they noticed a liquid coming out from the hinge mechanism of the foldable which is never a good sign. The foldable started making a crackling sound by the time the Fold 7 reached 100,000 folds. And just a few thousands of folds later, the crease on the screen started becoming more visible. Having said that, the platform said despite all these issues, the foldable was working in normal condition. He did notice the speakers on the Fold 7 fail around the 175,000 mark but did notice the device working and surviving the total of 200,000 folds. These tests can be subjective, based on how many folds you handle in a day but the person actually putting it through a real life test shows you the improved durability of the Z Fold 7 which can handle a few years of these folds quite easily. The new Galaxy Z Fold 7 is priced at Rs 1,74,999 in India and you get it in a shiny blue colour this year. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, gets 120Hz LTPO displays on both sides, and features a new 200MP primary camera. The device has gotten thinner but the 4,400mAh battery will have some people worried about its efficiency in daily usage. view comments First Published: August 07, 2025, 16:10 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
