Tipner boat crash: Body found in search for missing man
A body has been found during the search for a man who went missing following a boat crash in which another man died and one was taken to boat, a rigid-hulled inflatable - an inflatable boat with a hard bottom - crashed near Tipner on the edge of Portsmouth Harbour on Thursday at about 19:20 and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the body of a man had been recovered on Tuesday morning and although formal identification had not yet taken place the family of the missing man had been the crash, a man aged in his 60s from Emsworth was pronounced dead in hospital and a man in his 50s, from West Sussex, was treated in hospital. The force said officers and the man's family would like to thank everyone who shared their appeal, contacted them with information or helped with the investigating officer, Det Supt Abbie Leeson, said: "We are aware the community has been both saddened and shocked by this incident and we want to reassure you that our inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing."The force added the boat was not stolen, it belonged to one of the occupants, did not sink and has since been police said previously officers were liaising with the Marine Accident Investigation Branch during the early stages of an investigation to establish what had happened. Teen arrested for questioning over death of Irish Rail worker Ian Walsh
A teenager has been arrested for questioning in connection with the murder of Irish Rail employee Ian Walsh, who was found dead at his home in Co Tipperary on August 4th. The young man is being detained at Clonmel Garda Station after being arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of the 49-year-old. Mr Walsh was found with stab wounds in a downstairs room at his home in Ravenswood Estate on Cregg Road in Carrick-on-Suir. There was no sign of forced entry at the property. It is understood that gardai believe that whoever murdered Mr Walsh was known to him and that he possibly admitted his killer to the house. A postmortem by State pathologist Dr Yvonne McCartney confirmed Mr Walsh died by violent means. Advertisement Mr Walsh was last seen alive on the evening of August 1st. A cremation service took place on August 12th in the Island Crematorium in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork. In a statement, Irish Rail said Mr Walsh was a well-known and popular colleague both in his working life from catering to signalling, and for his passion for railway and transport tourism and heritage. Man charged with arson after Clacton fire
A man has been charged with arson after three shops and several homes were damaged by fire. Emergency services were called to West Avenue, in Clacton, Essex, on Monday at 00:35 BST to reports of a 40 firefighters were sent to the scene, and 70 residents were evacuated from their homes and taken to a refuge centre set up in a nearby hotel, before later moving to a leisure centre. There were no reports of any injuries. Christian Capes, 42, of Beach Road, Clacton, was charged with arson with intent to endanger life.
