A group of teens have been arrested following an alleged brawl at a shopping centre, which police say broke out after a man in his 60s was assaulted.
Police were called to a shopping centre in Helensvale, in the northern Gold Coast, just before 3:00pm on Thursday.
Early reports from police indicate that one of the teenagers allegedly assaulted a man in his 60s, after which a brawl allegedly broke out between several other teenagers.
The man was injured in the attack and assisted by paramedics at the scene. He has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said security personnel and an officer were also allegedly assaulted during the incident with the teens.
Footage obtained by 9 News Queensland captures the moment several are handcuffed and taken into custody.
They are assisting police with their inquiries.

New Kensington constable accused of impersonating police officer

A constable in Westmoreland County is accused of impersonating a police officer. In May, Herman Staple II was pulled over by a New Kensington Police Department officer near the intersection of Industrial Boulevard and Freeport Street because he was driving a black Chevy Tahoe decked out to look like a police vehicle. Officials said the vehicle was complete with blue, red and yellow lights, tinted windows, an interior laptop mount and cameras, and a logo on the rear tailgate that read "police." Staple claimed to be a retired Pittsburgh Bureau of Police officer. The problem was that Staple was not a police officer, not then or ever. Staple was a constable and a member of the New Kensington Fire Police. The fire police aid the fire department during a fire with things like traffic and crowd control. A constable is a bit more involved. According to the Pennsylvania State Constable website, a constable is an elected or appointed law enforcement officer who has the authority in Pennsylvania to arrest by warrant and serve warrants anywhere in the Commonwealth. They also have the power to conduct warrantless arrests for felonies and breaches of the peace committed in their presence. But nowhere does it say that they can act as a police officer. Staple was arrested for presenting himself as such, and police seized a loaded 9mm handgun from him at the time of the arrest. But just last month, unrelated to Staple's impersonation of a police officer, he had a protection-from-abuse order placed against him. He was required to turn over all of the firearms in his possession to the Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office, but he didn't. "At the time of the PFA service, some firearms were relinquished," said Jennifer Shipley, chief deputy with the Westmoreland County Sheriff's Department. "But after the fact, our investigation indicated that additional firearms existed." What the sheriff's found when they searched Staple's house was a trove of guns and ammunition. Some guns were hidden in the house, and some were even ghost guns. "Due to him failing to comply with the protection from abuse order, he was charged with a contempt for violating that court order and then additional charges as well for the possession of the firearms," Shipley said. As of Thursday morning, Staple was released from the Westmoreland County Prison on bail. His preliminary hearing for the gun charges, as well as his formal arraignment for impersonating a police officer, will both be held later this month.

Amherst man charged with impaired driving while riding e-bike

A 42-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving after an e-bike was seen weaving in and out of traffic in Amherst, N.S., forcing several vehicles to pull to the side of the road. The man was arrested June 23 around 7 p.m. after an off-duty officer with the Amherst police department spotted the e-bike swerving in front of vehicles. In a news release Thursday, police said the off-duty officer approached the cyclist, who was not wearing a helmet and appeared to be intoxicated. Police were called and the cyclist was arrested. The Amherst man was also charged with operating a vehicle while prohibited from driving. He was initially held in custody due to prior convictions for impaired driving and charges for driving while prohibited, police said. He appeared in court and was released on conditions. Four people stabbed near shopping mall in Finland's Tampere

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) -Four people were injured in a stabbing attack near a shopping mall in the Finnish city of Tampere on Thursday and one person was arrested, but there were no indications of a terrorist or racist motive in the incident, police said. A police statement gave no further details on the injuries from the attack in the Nordic country's third largest city but said the situation was under control and there was no further threat to the public. "According to (our) current information, there is no reason to suspect that the act had a terrorist or racist motive," police said later in an update that gave no information on the arrested suspect. Public broadcaster YLE earlier reported that traffic in the centre of Tampere - located some 180 kilometres (112 miles) north of the capital Helsinki - was at a standstill. The daily Ilta-Sanomat reported that a witness saw bystanders giving first aid to two people lying on the ground at the time police arrived, and that, according to its information, the person arrested was a Finnish man in his twenties. In May, three pupils were injured in an attack at a school in southern Finland and a fellow student suspected of carrying out the assault was apprehended. Last year, a 12-year-old boy shot dead a fellow sixth-grader and severely injured two others at a school in the town of Vantaa. The boy said he had been a target of bullying and that this had motivated his attack.
