Works underway to give Kurnool a fillip on the lines of Vizag, says Industries Minister T.G. Bharat
Industries, Commerce, and Food Processing Minister T.G. Bharat on Friday laid the foundation stones for a cluster of 31 development projects at an estimated cost of ₹12.28 crore in 19 divisions of the Kurnool Municipal Corporation. The works include CC roads, drainage lines, public toilets, pavements, and a display of air-quality boards.
Addressing the public, Mr. Bharat said that efforts are underway to give Kurnool a fillip on the lines of Visakhapatnam. 'The prime focus will be on roads, drainage, street lighting, and sanitation. I urge the contractors and officials to expedite the works and strive for completion at the earliest,' he said.
The Minister also launched the works for a bypass road passing through the SAP camp, which would likely ease traffic snarls on the Kurnool-Bellary road, and facilitate a congestion-free traffic on the Kurnool-Hyderabad road. Mr. Bharat further promised that he would work for a permanent solution to the issue of waterlogging under the Ashok Nagar railway bridge during the rainy season.
The Minister reiterated that the Orvakal Industrial Park would be developed with ₹2,700 crore and the investors are from the areas of semiconductor and electric vehicle manufacturers. 'We propose to operate daily flight services between Orvakal and Vijayawada from June 2. Union Minister Rammohan Naidu and IndiGo officials also responded positively to the proposed move,' he said.
Officials of the Kurnool Municipal Corporation said that the funding included ₹3.59 crore from the general funds, ₹5.84 crore under NCap, and ₹2.82 crore from the 15th Finance Commission. Senior cadres from the alliance parties and officials of various government departments were present.

Sridhar Babu sets 6,000 placement target for TASK; hails record skill training drive
HYDERABAD: IT & Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu on Friday directed the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) officials to set an ambitious target of training at least 6,000 unemployed youth in advanced technologies and facilitating their placements during the current academic year. During a review meeting held at the Secretariat, the minister expressed satisfaction over TASK's proactive role in facilitating job placements for 4,100 candidates over the past year. He said that TASK has made significant progress in equipping unemployed youth and students with industry-relevant skills, thereby enhancing their employability. The academy has been aligning its training modules with industry needs and playing a pivotal role in placing skilled youth in relevant jobs. During the past year, TASK provided training to a record number of 1,37,677 students and 2,791 faculty members across various technical and skill domains, he said. 'TASK played a key role in organising job fairs across 148 colleges in 21 districts and on corporate campuses, helping 4,100 talented individuals secure employment,' he added. The minister, meanwhile, informed that Verisk Analytics, an American company, recruited tech professionals with an annual package of Rs 11 lakh for its Hyderabad campus.

'Just few kilometres away from the place we are sitting right now in Reasi, lithium mineral was found in a huge quantity and I am sure whenever it will comes into use, this region will contribute and pave the way for achieving PM Modi's target of net-zero emission by 2070,' Dr Singh said addressing a huge gathering here at the Sports Stadium. PM Modi after dedicating Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla-Rail-Link (USBRL) to the nation by flagging of Vande Bharat on Katra-Srinagar rail link and inaugurating world's highest train bridge on Chenab in Reasi here addressed a public gathering.
