Carrie Underwood is leaving blonde hair in the past for new look: See photo
Carrie Underwood is ditching her famous blonde locks to debut a new look. The "American Idol" judge posted an Instagram photo Aug. 4, revealing that she said goodbye to the bleached tresses that have been synonymous with her life and career since she won Season 4 of the reality singing competition show in 2005. "Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old, but I thought it might be time to give it a second chance. Thanks, @hairbykatelin_ at @parlour3beauty for helping me get back to my roots!" Underwood captioned the snap, adding the hashtags "#NewOldMe" and "#Bronde." 'American Idol' winner Jamal Roberts speaks out about judge Carrie Underwood One of the most famous contestants to ever compete on the show, Underwood returned to "Idol" – replacing pop star Katy Perry on the judging panel – alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan as a judge on Season 23, which premiered in March. The news, first announced on "Good Morning America," was an exciting throwback for "Idol" fans. Underwood's 2005 win happened when the show still had its original judges: Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell. With eight wins, Underwood is the past contestant with the most Grammy trophies to her name. Suspect charged in killings of 'American Idol' music supervisor, husband But there were bumpy moments during Underwood's first season as an "Idol" judge when the Season 23 winner Jamal Roberts threw a bit of shade at the country star after following in her footsteps. In July, when journalist Nate Vinson asked him about the "very strong narrative online" around Underwood's first season as a judge and how "people (who) watch the show that felt like she really wasn't supportive of you like other judges or other people," Roberts said that "Carrie is a country singer and she likes country music." During Season 23, which ended in May, the genre-bending Mississippi gym teacher won over a pair of country singers, John Foster and Breanna Nix. The conversation surrounding Roberts and Underwood reached a fever pitch online all season long. "I mean, I don't think she likes every genre for real. She had her picks, and she had her (choice) of who she really liked, and she stuck with it," Roberts added in the red carpet clip from a BET 45th anniversary dinner. "We applaud her for sticking to her roots and sticking to who she liked, but I feel like the better person won." Contributing: KiMi Robinson

Selena Gomez Shares Never-Before-Seen Summer Photos With Benny Blanco and Surprise 'Wizards' Co-Star
THE RUNDOWN Selena Gomez has been spending her summer largely out of the public eye and away from the paparazzi lens—but it's been a good season for the engaged singer. Gomez shared a glimpse of her downtime, posting a carousel of personal photos on Instagram. 'Good times, good food, good people,' the star wrote. She led the post with a shot of Blanco, followed by selfies and a little Wizards of Waverly Place content. In one photo, she's seen watching an old episode of the Disney Channel show that made her famous. In another, she appears enjoying a meal with her Wizards co-star Jennifer Stone. Gomez has been producing and making guest appearances in the series' reboot, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, which recently finished filming its second season. The Wizards Beyond Waverly Place's Instagram commented '👀' on her post, so make what you will of that. In June, Gomez wrapped filming on the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building, which will premiere on September 9. She is also in the process of launching Rare Beauty's first perfume. In an interview with Women's Wear Daily published last week, Gomez discussed her priorities with Rare Beauty amid rumors the brand could be exploring a sale or IPO. 'I think it's important for me not to focus on the logistics, if that makes sense, for me and my personal well-being,' she said. 'I put my heart into it. I work really hard, and I love our community, especially my fans. They have gotten me through all of the ups and all of the downs of life, and they are with me.' She added, 'I'm so grateful that I'm in this place in my life where, you know, things could have looked differently, and the future for Rare for me is just the fact that we want to continue to create products. There's still so much more room, there's still so much more places we could go. But specifically with the fragrance, I just thought it was time.' While she hasn't specified exactly what she's been up to outside of those projects, wedding planning could be among her summer activities. Last month, Blanco told Jake Shane that they hadn't started yet. 'That's why we both need to chill,' he said. 'We've both been working so much. We got engaged, and then we were filming music videos for our album [I Said I Love You First]... Then it's holidays, then right after the holidays, we had to start all the promo for our stuff, do that. Then she left to film her show Only Murders [in the Building] and then I met her, then we hung out for a week, and then right after that, it's promo. And then I'm writing another book, so then I had to write a book, and then she came back for one day here. And then it was my birthday, and you know.... We're both working on so many things that we hadn't even had time to get into it, but we're so excited. I think this summer we're going to sit down and be like, 'Okay, what are we doing, hun?''

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Food Network is facing criticism online following its recent social media post featuring late chef Anne Burrell. Newsweek contacted a Food Network spokesperson via email for comment on Tuesday. The Context Burrell, 55—who was the longtime host of Food Network's Worst Cooks in America—was found dead at her home in Brooklyn, New York on June 17. A New York City Police Department spokesperson told Newsweek at the time that "EMS responded and pronounced the female deceased at the scene" following a 911 call alerting authorities of a possible cardiac arrest. The celebrity chef's cause of death was "suicide," according to the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner. Chef Anne Burrell presents onstage during Food Network and Cooking Channel's New York City Wine and Food Festival at Pier 94 on October 13, 2018 in New York City. Chef Anne Burrell presents onstage during Food Network and Cooking Channel's New York City Wine and Food Festival at Pier 94 on October 13, 2018 in New York NYCWFF What To Know On Monday, the Food Network posted teaser photos with Burrell on Instagram to promote the latest episode of Worst Cooks in America. Fans argued, however, that the caption was "tone-deaf" for not mentioning the spunky television personality. "It's showtime! The recruits step up to the spotlight in the first-ever Boot Camp Culinary Pageant!" it reads. "Competing head-to-head, they show off their kitchen skills in hopes of being crowned Mister or Miss Boot Camp. Watch a new episode of #WorstCooks TONIGHT at 9|8c!" Season 29 of Worst Cooks in America debuted on July 28 and is Burrell's final season. She rose to fame as a sous chef on Iron Chef America, and hosted her own Emmy-nominated series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. On Worst Cooks in America, the New York native mentored amateur cooks. What People Are Saying Instagram user @juliecordora wrote in a note with 917 likes: "If you are going to run the show, every caption should have a respectful note about the loss of Anne." @chlibby_823 said in a comment with 574 likes: "Another tone deaf post and still no tribute like she deserves. It's obvious you haven't listened to any of the thousands of posts from her fans. Very disappointing." @alyssalaurenarndt remarked in a response with 430 likes: "This is so distasteful. Have some care and decency for Anne and her family." @shannonekeeley said: "This is such an odd caption, in my opinion. At least acknowledge Anne and her legacy in the caption- this is not an 'everyday' type of season premiere and Food Network knows that." @kileydashiell stated in a note: "WORST CAPTION EVER." @markymarkntuc posted in a reply: "Wow who's running your social media? I'll apply for the job with zero experience and still do a better job. Have some class." @sherrieoh said: "It's shocking to see @foodnetwork air the final season without recognizing @chefanneburrell contributions. The omission in the caption is particularly notable. It's disappointing to say the least." Say Yes to the Dress star Randy Fenoli wrote: "I miss my friend." On Facebook, other fans defended the Food Network's decision to air the series. Melissa Thompson said in a post with 165 positive reactions: "It is bittersweet watching knowing Chef Anne is no longer here but I am enjoying seeing her doing what she loved one last time." Britani Joanne Lake shared: "I'll definitely be watching in honor of Anne. no need to cry about 'not watching it.' that's your prerogative." Eric Schlegel wrote: "I've never experienced this. Wanting so bad to see something and dreading it at the same time. To see this last gift Anne left us but knowing it's the last. No one will ever fill that void she left. We love you Anne." What Happens Next New episodes of Worst Cooks in America Season 29 with Burrell air Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on the Food Network.
