No change in schedule of Mega DSC: Andhra Pradesh govt
VIJAYAWADA: The State government has made it clear that the Mega DSC-2025 examination will be held as scheduled from June 6, dismissing the widespread demand on social media from aspirants for its postponement.
In a statement issued on Friday, the School Education Department clarified that any delay in conducting the exam will jeopardise the future of 2.45 lakh candidates, and disrupt the academic year for lakhs of school students.
The government reiterated that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu signed the Mega DSC file on June 13, 2024, soon after assuming office as part of his commitment to strengthen the education system in the State, and fulfil the aspirations of unemployed youth.
Under the leadership of HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, the government initiated the process to fill 16,347 teacher posts, and ensured that the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) was conducted transparently twice.
The Mega DSC syllabus was uploaded on the official website in November 2024, giving aspirants more than six months to prepare for the exam. Responding to the aspirants' plea for over a 90-day preparation period post-notification, the government explained that the recruitment process was initiated with the issuance of GO No. 27 on June 13, 2024, and candidates were given ample time to qualify through two TETs.

YSRCP is trying to defame TTD, destabilise govt: NDA
1 2 Tirupati : Leaders of the National Democratic Alliance ( NDA ) have accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of attempting to sow conspiracies along religious lines to defame the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) with the intention of destabilising the incumbent govt. It may be recalled that on Friday night, a devotee in the Sarvadarshan queue created ruckus by accusing the TTD management of subjecting devotees to extreme hardships by not providing them with food and other refreshments during their hours-long wait in the queues for the darshan. The incident had immediately gone viral on various social media platforms. In an immediate response to the accusations, when the TTD administration reached out to the devotee, he retracted from his previous statements, stating he was feeling uncomfortable in the queue lines and hence, had levelled the accusations against the management. He also acknowledged that there was a continuous supply of food, milk and other refreshments for devotees waiting in the queues. Considering this was done with malafied intention, TTD additional EO Ch Venkaiah Choudary warned people to excercise restraint before resorting to malicious propaganda against TTD as it is linked to sentiments of millions of devotees of Lord Venkateswara. After an enquiry was carried out regarding the incident, the ruling TDP labelled the man, who had allegedly raised slogans in the queue line, as a YSRCP activist. HRD minister Nara Lokesh posted on X that the devotee who had tried to resort to false propaganda at Tirumala was a YSRCP activist identified as Baddili Acha Rao, a resident of Timmapuram village in Kakinada rural mandal. "Yet another conspiracy of the YSRCP at the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala has been exposed. While trying to execute their plans to perfection, miscreants recorded the propaganda and circulated it on social media. TTD management, led by its chairman BR Naidu, are committed to the welfare of the common devotees visiting Tirumala. Such conspiracies by the YSRCP on the sacred hill town will not be tolerated, and rather, will be dealt with in a stringent manner," the HRD minister warned .

From reviving religious places to Op Sindoor, govt has been drawing inspiration from Ahilyabai Holkar's life: Adityanath
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that his 'double-engine' government has been drawing inspiration from 18th-century Maratha queen Ahilyabai Holkar and linked her legacy to the grand revival of spiritual centres like Kashi Vishwanath Dham, the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, among others. He also said India's strong reply to Pakistan through Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terror attack was inspired by the principles of self-defence espoused by the Maratha ruler. Speaking at an event in Agra held under the ongoing 'Punyashlok Lokmata Janma Trishatabdi Varsh Smriti Abhiyan – 2025', the chief minister said: 'During the Mughal period, when foreign invaders destroyed and corrupted the symbols of India's identity and faith, especially the temples, Devi Ahilyabai did the great work of their revival two and a half centuries ago.' 'She renovated many religious places, including Puri's Jagannath Temple, Gaya Temple, Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Kedarnath Dham, Mahakal Temple, Omkareshwar Temple, Somnath Temple, Bhimashankar Temple, and Rameswaram Temple with her personal funds instead of using state assets… She lived for only 70 years, but her personality remains a beacon of inspiration,' Adityanath said. Adityanath started his speech by addressing Agra as 'Brajbhoomi' and described it as a historical land that was graced by Lord Krishna's presence. Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, his wife Sudesh Dhankhar, and Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya also attended the event, organised by Union Minister SP Singh Baghel. Stating that Ahilyabai Holkar's contributions to women, artisans, farmers, youth, security, and India's cultural heritage remain unforgettable and commendable, he said the double-engine government' key welfare schemes, such as Lakhpati Didi, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Matru Vandana Yojana, and the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign draw inspiration from Lokmata's life. He added that Ahilyabai Holkar had empowered the Malwa kingdom with self-defence capabilities—an approach that resonates in India's modern military actions. 'Today, our armed forces strike back with strength, as seen in surgical and air strikes against terrorism. When Pakistan supports terrorists, India responds across the border. Our air force even destroyed their air defense system—this resolve draws inspiration from Lokmata's visionary legacy,' he said. 'When under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the brave Indian jawans destroyed the air defence system of Pakistan through Operation Sindoor… compelled the enemy to bow, it was inspired by the actions and principles of self-defence that the Lokmata espoused during her reign,' Adityanath said, adding that no force can stop a society inspired by its national heroes, and cited Ahilyabai Holkar's life as a shining example. The chief minister also announced that a medical college in Auraiya has been named after Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. Hitting out at the previous Samajwadi Party government, Adityanath said: 'In the past, some people used to change the name of the degree college built in her (Holkar's) name, but we are honouring her legacy. Today, the double-engine government has named the medical college in Auraiya after Lokmata.

'Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar's birth anniversary not historical event, but philosophy of life for all': Dhankar
Agra (UP), Jun 1 (UNI) Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said on Sunday that the birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar is not a date or a historical event, but a philosophy of life for everyone. Addressing a seminar organised under the Tercentenary Year Smriti Abhiyan-2025 of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, organised at GIC Ground, Pachkuiyan, the Vice President said, "We will have to take a pledge that we will follow her ideals. Lokmata was the representative of India's great tradition in difficult times, where religion-culture and governance flow in the same stream. So many temples including Somnath Gujarat, Kashi Vishwanath, Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Bhimashankar, Rameshwaram Gokarna were revived by her hands. Veerangana Ahilyabai Holkar is an inspiration for us." He said that creation and preservation of culture is very important. "When invader Aurangzeb brutally attacked Kashi Vishwanath, 100 years later Ahilyabai Holkar showed foresight and built a temple of Kashi Vishwanath," he said. Discussing the current scenario, Dhankar said that the entire country is overwhelmed by the miraculous change that has come there. "One feels happy to see the picturesque ghats there. This work has been done by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath under the leadership of PM Modi," he said. He said that Yogi Adityanath is a visionary and believes in work. "In December 2021, he unveiled the statue of Adi Shankaracharya and Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar at Kashi Vishwanath. The work done by Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar was done by Yogi Adityanath. He transformed UP," he said. He said, "After Kashi Vishwanath and Ayodhya, work will also be done in Mathura. The coming generations will remember the work of Yogi in the same way as we remember Lokmata today. The Vice President said, "let us take a pledge that like Lokmata Ahilyabai, we will also consider duty as religion and will advance rights through service. Like the creation of law, Ahilyabai's thinking has also come in Yogi Adityanath," he said. Recalling the valour of the Indian Army, he said that on April 22, the enemies showed cowardice in Pahalgam, they were answered. Congratulating the Indian Army for the success of Operation Sindoor, the Vice President said that due to the valour of the army, the enemy had to chew iron grams. "The army gave a message to the world that India has changed. India will end terrorism, we will completely destroy anyone who tries to harm us," he said. Addressing CM Yogi, he said, "how great the military production on your land is, it will keep echoing in the ears of the enemy. "The Brahmos manufactured here destroyed them by entering the hideouts of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba," he said. Dhankar said that Yogi Adityanath has completely changed the image of UP during his tenure. "Today UP means good governance and rule of law. Development is not possible without the rule of law. UP has now become Uttam Pradesh," he said. He further said, "we are Indians, Indianness is our identity and nationalism is our religion. Nation is supreme. Whatever we do for the nation is less," he said. The Vice President said, "My head is held high with pride because Ahilyabai Holkar also belonged to a farmer family. She was a lover of justice. She set very high standards for women empowerment. She formed a contingent of women in her army. Women empowerment is at its peak in today's India. There is reservation for women in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies as well. Ahilyabai Holkar did a lot for the farmers. Farmers are determined, so India will develop," he said. He said that today's UP has become a wonderful example of cultural heritage. "Miraculous work beyond imagination has been done here. It started in 2014, when Narendra Modi chose Kashi as his political area. It gained momentum in 2017, when Yogi became the CM. Yogi has the pride of running the largest province continuously for so many years. The world was surprised to see the organisation of Maha Kumbh. The message of India's culture went all over the world," he said. Programme coordinator Union Minister and Agra MP Prof S P Singh Baghel welcomed the guests. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Vice President's wife Dr Sudesh Dhankhar, Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairman Prof Ramshankarrao Shinde, former Deputy Chief Minister of Goa Chandrakant Babu Kavlekar, MP V K Parthasarathy, Bastipati Nagaraju were present in the programme.
