Osher Günsberg reveals why he snapped at Dancing With the Stars judge following tense on-air exchange

Daily Mail2 days ago
Osher Günsberg has revealed why he snapped at Dancing With the Stars judge Craig Revel Horwood this week.
The pair exchanged some tense words on Sunday night after Günsberg and partner Sriani Argaet danced an Argentine tango to the strains of David Bowie 's Fashion.
After Revel Horwood decried the routine as a 'mess', Günsberg wasted no time in challenging the judge's assessment in what was a fiery exchange.
Speaking to Chattr about the incident, Günsberg said the judge could've peppered some compliments into his harsh critique.
'I tried really, really, really hard, and a part of me was like, "Oh, come on man. You know that was a really f**king hard thing to do, and I was never going to be technically perfect at it",' he said

'I'm also not trying to be a professional dancer. So, you know, at least give us a compliment sandwich.
'Start with, "Mate, your hair looked good. Your feet look terrible, but you have a nice smile." You know, give us that'
Günsberg, who was eliminated from the series on Sunday night, admitted that he wanted to draw attention to the 'snarkiness' in Revel-Horwood's comments.
'Sometimes you give it back, it works, and sometimes it doesn't,' he said.
'It was always going to be a risk, but you know… I was coming from a place of reality, and I wasn't particularly upset at him, I was just trying to draw some perspective to the snarkiness of what he was saying.'
And Revel-Horwood did not mince his words with his assessment of Günsberg's tango.
'A right, Royal mess that was,' he said 'I don't know what that step was meant to be coming down the ramp, darling, but whatever it was it was fumbled.'
Visibly annoyed, Günsberg snapped, 'Would you like to try going down that Perspex ramp in those heels, sir? You're more than welcome to show me.'
He continued to rage: 'But I need you to be doing it in a tango step while the person next to you is on one foot kicking, and you're holding their momentum against you. After you!'
Revel Horwood seemed taken aback by the fiery exchange, replying to a fuming Günsberg, 'That is not my job'.
He then continued on with his critique despite the tense atmosphere, which had host Sonia Kruger visibly shocked.
'It was completely erratic,' Craig said, after dismissing Günsberg's remarks.
Revel Horwood told the frustrated TV personality, 'You were making mistakes left, right and centre.'
Fellow judge Mark Wilson did offer Günsberg some words of encouragement, telling him that he admired his determination to improve his dancing skills.
However, the final score was a dismal 15 points and Günsberg was sent home.

Craig Revel Horwood in awkward row with livid TV presenter as fans criticise ‘melt down'

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood was at the centre of an awkward row after criticising a Dancing with the Stars contestant live on air in the Aussie version of the show Craig Revel Horwood was at the centre of an awkward row with a livid TV presenter on Dancing with the Stars. ‌ The Strictly Come Dancing judge, 60, is currently dishing out the cutthroat style that he has become known for as he critiques the celebrities taking part in Dancing with the Stars in Australia, he was met with some backlash after he labelled Osher Gunsberg's Tango a "right royal mess" in the most recent episode. Upon hearing the comments, the former Bachelorette Australia host fired back: "Would you like to try going down that perspex ramp in those heels, sir? You are more than welcome to show me how to do it." ‌ But typically, Craig retorted: "That is not my job." But Craig continued to criticise, as he labelled the dance 'completely erratic' and accused the TV star of 'making mistakes' everywhere. Osher, who was partnered with professional dancer Sriani Argaet, replied: "But I need you to be doing it in a tango step while the person next to you is on one foot, kicking, and you're holding their momentum against you. After you." After Craig dismissed that suggestion as something they could do 'some other time', the video went viral on social media after broadcast and fans were quick to call out the on-air 'melt down'. ‌ One viewer wrote on X: "You got a low score Osher because you argued with the judges and were arrogant. Just take the feed back and be humble," and another said: "Osher is kinda annoying stop fighting with the judges." A third viewer ranted: "WTF was that attitude from Osher? The judges are there to give you constructive criticism, you think you danced amazingly and you just didn't, mate. Check your ego bro." A fourth said: "Thank goodness Osher's out. He was voted to stay the first couple of weeks due to his popularity, but the man can't dance," and a fifth said: "Osher seems to have trouble accepting reality, he's just a bad dancer". However, another fan was more sympathetic towards the TV host and instead took issue with Craig, as they wrote: "I dont think Osher has ever said he could dance. He is giving it a go and Craig is just downright rude." Osher and Srianri received a total score of 15 for the episode, and he was eliminated from the competition at the end of the episode. Speaking out after the viral incident had taken place, Osher claimed that Craig was doing his job as the 'baddie judge' with his negative comments but insisted that he had tried 'really hard' during the show. ‌ Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, he added: "But at the same time, I worked my a** off and I tried really hard. I was never going to be a technically perfect person at it, but it was like, come on, man! If you're going to critique me, give it a shot yourself and let's see what happens! I thought it was pretty fun! "Don't get me wrong, his critique is not without warrant. He has fair points. I watched the show, I know he wasn't inventing it. It was just an opportunity to kind of play with that dynamic and see what would happen," he continued. Osher's exit from the show leaves KIIS network presenter Brittany Hockley, actress Felicity Ward, Olympian Harry Garside, Home & Away actor Kyle Shinning, social media influencer Mia Fevola, newsreader Michael Usher, comedian Shaun Micallef, and former AFL star Trent Cotchin all vying to be crowned champion of this year's series. On the Australian iteration of the programme, Craig judges alongside former professional Sharna Burgess, Helen Richie and Mark Wilson. Earlier this year, Craig, who sits among judges Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse, on Strictly Come Dancing in the UK, claimed that the show's continued success was down to him as he is an original member of the panel. Craig adopted the role of Mr Nasty since the show first aired back in 2004 and by his own admission during a recent interview he enjoys playing the villain. The TV judge who prides himself on being harsh with his comments to the professional dancers and their celebrity contestants, said: "There is no other judge. I created it. They are either dead or have been sacked." He added in his interview with The Sun: "I get booed heavily but I enjoy playing the villain." Craig has been on the BBC show for 21 years.

Love Island's controversial star Harrison sparks fix row as he shares big villa secret

LOVE Island has been hit with fresh 'fix' claims after controversial star Harrison Solomon was caught spilling behind-the-scenes secrets in a fan-recorded TikTok. In the viral video, Harrison, 22, is approached inside a London Boots branch by a fan who recognises him and immediately grills him about the show. 5 He says in disbelief: 'I swear you're the guy from Love Island, innit? There is no way,' before diving into questions about Harrison's antics on the show. The admirer adds: 'Mad guy innit? Bouncing between two gyal and them things there. But you know what? I rate it though.' Harrison, who found himself at the centre of a love triangle in the villa, responds: 'Appreciate that man… Lauren was one of the gyal in the triangle, man. And I chose Lauren. Now I'm back home.' When asked what the villa is 'really like' behind the scenes, Harrison - joined by 26-year-old Lauren Wood - replies: 'Bro it's crazy… challenges, everything, all sorts man. Drama every day.' The fan presses on, asking whether the drama is genuine or played up for the cameras. Harrison insists: 'Yeah, it's real. It's real. Mad.' But it's his next comment that's raised eyebrows among viewers. Harrison admits: 'They'll like put people together and stuff like that to have conversations and stuff like that.' The fan then chimes in with: 'I know one of the Love Islanders, they told me like, yo they'll tell you like, cool, just bless you with that person.' Harrison replies: 'Yeah yeah yeah. They'll say that shit. Fair enough.' The clip sparked speculation that producers may be manipulating scenes for entertainment. Love Island's Harrison and Lauren cosy up on romantic double date with villa couple just days after his shock show exit In response, a Love Island spokesperson told The Sun: 'I think it's worth pointing out that he says twice in that clip that the drama is real himself. "For guidance, the opinions the Islanders have, decisions they make and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves. "What is shown is an accurate representation of villa life.' Harrison decided to quit the show in a surprise move after Lauren was dumped from the villa. Lauren begged him to go with her, but he said he wanted to sleep on it. The following day, Harrison announced to the Islanders that he was leaving the process. Harrison and Lauren had sex while in the villa together, which caused divided opinions among viewers. Upon his exit, Harrison was asked how he felt about his mum and dad knowing what he had done on television. He said: 'I hope they didn't see. But listen, it was a natural thing. 'I don't think I intended to have sex in the villa, but in there all the Islanders could tell we were so attracted to each other. 'Naturally, it was going to happen. 'The spark between us was crazy. 'I probably wasn't thinking about my parents and them watching it, but it naturally happened and I don't regret it.' The controversial Islander was then slammed for his "scripted" apology after he appeared on Aftersun on Sunday. Harrison said he felt the point that his romancing of both girls went too far was after he'd slept with Lauren. "I think maybe when we did bits," he said. "Probably took it a little bit too far talking to Toni after that. "I obviously regret that massively and I apologise to both the girls but, yeah, it wasn't good for me." He then said if he had his time again he would have had up front conversations with Toni and Lauren earlier to save them getting upset. But viewers weren't buying his latest apology, with one writing on X: "Harrison has CLEARLY wrote a speech and memorised it this is not genuine." Another said: "Harrison has gotten away with what he's done way too easily." A third posted: "Harrison's not sorry for sh*t." A fourth said: "Is anyone buying this with Harrison? "I'm glad no one clapped at Harrison's poor excuse of an apology." Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. 5 5 5 5
