Taylor Denies Leading On Olandria During ‘Love Island USA'

Cosmopolitan3 days ago
As we wait for another Love Island USA episode with bated breath, Taylor Williams is giving us more than enough intel to hold us over. In case you missed it, Taylor and his partner, Clarke Carraway, were booted off the villa on July 8 after America voted for their favorite couples to remain in Fiji.
The reality TV personality went on a mini press tour once he touched down in the States, where he dished on everything from closing off his relationship with Clarke to his previous connection with Olandria Carthen. More specifically, he broke his silence when it came to leaving Olandria for Clarke when the bombshell landed in the villa from Casa Amor.
'I definitely was interested in her,' Taylor told E! News of Olandria, who is now coupled up with Nic Vansteenberghe following Cierra Ortega's sudden exit. 'If me and Clarke never did hit it off, then I would have kept rocking out with Olandria, because it was something that was real.'
He added, 'We had a strong connection. We had the strongest connection in the house, so we definitely genuinely did like each other—but what I had with Clarke, it was different from what I had with Olandria.'
During a joint interview with Us Weekly, Clarke learned that Taylor referred to her as 'the one,' and they shared where they stand since leaving the Villa. While Taylor is from Oklahoma City and Clarke resides in Columbia, South Carolina, they're looking forward to traveling so they can 'see each other' and 'keep going' with their relationship.
'Get her turned into a little cowgirl and see how well she does being a cowgirl,' Taylor cheekily shared. 'It is something that we're going to keep going.'
As Clarke and Taylor continue their blossoming romance, he still has love for his past connection. 'I have no problem with Olandria. I'm rooting for her and Nic,' he explained to E! News. 'When her and Nic were a couple kissing each other in the challenges, I was right there cheering 'em on. I have no bad blood with nobody in the villa.'
He doubled down, telling People, 'They've been, you know, day 1, Olandria picked him as one of her kisses and then they end up coupling up with each other in Casa Amor, and then they went back—well, she was single and Nic went back to Cierra, and now they're back together.'
He concluded with, 'It's just like—the universe keeps putting them together for a reason.'
Good to know Taylor is all about Nico Freako, just like the rest of us!

‘Love Island USA' Narrator Responds to 'Visceral Reaction' From Fans to Jeremiah Joke

Iain Stirling, the voice behind Love Island USA, swears all his jokes on the hit Peacock reality series come 'from a place of love.' The comedian has been narrating the U.K. version of Love Island for 10 years, and the U.S. version since season four. And while he enjoys getting to see the episodes before the world does and writing jokes for them, it doesn't come without its challenges. I'm so bad,' Stirling, who returns to America in October for his new stand-up show Iain Stirling Live, tells The Hollywood Reporter with a laugh. Below, Stirling talks about the reality hit's buzzy season seven, hosted by Ariana Madix, including his Jeremiah waiter joke that received a 'visceral reaction' from fans, his process of writing the scripts and jokes for each episode, and relating to the 'Islanders that are slightly ostracized from the group.' *** When it comes to writing the script and jokes for each episode, do you get excited that you know what happens before America does? Putting the script together is probably the fun bits. There's not a script per se when we first get in, we get given the show as it airs. Where the voiceover would be, the producers have recorded some temporary voiceover, so we just start writing it. We pause it when we hear a voiceover, put a little time code for where it goes and then just start writing the jokes. We go through act by act and just write them all, record them, send them to the channel. The way it's uploaded to Peacock, we get it a couple of days before anyone else, so it's sort of crazy. I'm glad I live in the U.K. because I wouldn't have the willpower to not tell loads of people what's going down on Love Island today. (Laughs.) I'm so bad. In the U.K., when I started doing bigger interviews and stuff, they just stopped telling me things because then I was like, 'If you don't tell me anything, then I can go, 'I don't know.'' You've been narrating , between the U.K. and U.S. versions, for 10 years now. What do you make of the whole experience, and do you hope to keep doing both of them in the future? I think so. I really do hope I get to do them. They're such an intense part of my year, but because I do them both together, I take a semi-retirement from the world for two months. I only have my hair cut because I was doing these [interviews] today. It's nice just retreating away from the world. I can still do school runs and pickups and be around at home, which is so important to me. It's one of the the main reasons I work, so I can have that family time. I hope I do it for ages. It's such an honor to work on a television show that becomes this weird cultural phenomenon. I did that on the U.K. one, now it's happened again in America. It sounds so wanky, but I'm really trying to be present. This is so cool that this has happened again. People don't get to do it once, let alone twice, and not with the same show. Can you talk about what it's like coming up with your cheeky commentary, such as when you got fans riled up a few episodes back when you said after Jeremiah got dumped from the villa, 'You won't believe this, but their [Nic and Olandria] waiter for this evening is Jeremiah. OK, I'm just joking about that last bit.' The Jeremiah thing, we genuinely thought that was a really cute, lovely nod, because we never mentioned former Islanders once they've left. We were like, 'Oh, that'll be really funny,' and I do think what I underestimated was, I said, 'Oh, the waiter's Jeremiah,' and I went, 'Ha, only joking. Still, Nick and Ondreania, that's good, right?' But I think what happened is when I said Jeremiah, everyone just lost their minds and stopped listening to what I was saying. So I upset a few people that day and I really apologize about that. It came from a place of love. But it's mad that you can make literally millions of people have a visceral reaction with a sentence. Like, how powerful is that? That's so cool. Do you find yourself rooting for couples each season, or do you try to remain neutral? Try to remain neutral, but I'm not going to lie, and a therapist would definitely identify it as coming from my time at high school, but I identify with any of the Islanders that are slightly ostracized from the group and don't really fit in, because that was my entire time at high school. Like when Huda isn't quite fitting in or when Austin couldn't quite find the girl that liked him, those are the characters that speak to me. I think it's quite a British thing as well to be like, 'I want the person least likely to win to win.' Like when Amaya was really struggling and the boys were telling her to stop calling them babe and it's just so intrinsically her, I was like, 'I've been that person where who you are as a person, it doesn't quite fit with the environment you're in and it's really tricky.' So yeah, Amaya, Huda, Austin … it's funny calling them rejects or oddballs because obviously they're also incredibly articulate and beautiful people, but by the weird Love Island law that we live in, that's what they are, I suppose. *** Love Island USA season seven is currently streaming on Peacock. ‘Love Island' Trio Leah, Serena and JaNa Are About to Get Vulnerable on ‘Beyond the Villa' Spinoff

For Love Island USA fans who have been missing their favorite girl group, PPG (Powerpuff Girls), worry no longer: Leah Kateb, Serena Page and JaNa Craig are back together in Peacock spinoff Love Island: Beyond the Villa. The trio skyrocketed to fame during season six of Love Island USA last year, which became a cultural sensation thanks to plenty of iconic moments between the Islanders in the Villa as they all searched for love. Kateb, Page and Craig found just what they were looking for — they're all still together with the men they met on the show, Miguel Harichi, Kordell Beckham and Kenny Rodriguez, respectively — and more, as the trio also formed a close-knit bond as friends that America also became obsessed with. Craig describes season one of the spinoff as a 'beautiful roller coaster,' adding, 'It's gonna be so much fun. There's a lot of vulnerable moments. You get to see more and more of our personal lives.' Beyond the Villa also features season six Islanders Aaron Evans, Kaylor Martin, Connor Newsum, Liv Walker and Kendall Washington, as well as appearances from other former Islanders. Below, Kateb, Page and Craig open up to The Hollywood Reporter about how they maintain their close friendship, navigating their relationships a year later and what Love Island USA fans can expect from the rest of season one of Beyond the Villa. *** How do you navigate keeping a close bond between you three while also having your own lives and relationships? CRAIG Thank God for group chat. PAGE Right, group chats, and it's like any other adult long distance, not even long distance because she's [JaNa] basically 45 minutes away. So it's like any like adult relationship you would navigate. You text, you catch up when y'alls schedules align, y'all go to dinner. It's like any regular like friendship. But we actually probably spend a hell of a lot of time together. CRAIG We have dinner after this. Serena, you mentioned in episode one of that you have some separation anxiety with Kordell when he travels for work. How do you balance growing your relationship while also each chasing your personal goals? PAGE Actual separation anxiety was a stretch and a bit dramatic (Laughs). We've been away from each other all of two weeks total, so let's just put that into perspective. I was being dramatic. But it's weird to have him not around. We both feel weird because we'll both have a full day of work, but we usually come to one of our houses by the end of the night. So it's weird when we're in different states, but it's work. I've done a long-distance relationship before; communication is key. Can you all tease what viewers are in for during the rest of this season of ? CRAIG A beautiful roller coaster. It's gonna be so much fun. There's a lot of vulnerable moments. You get to see more and more of our personal lives. It's a lot, you'll see. A year after leaving the Villa, what do you make of how far you all have come as friends as well as in your individual relationships? And what do you hope for the future? PAGE Going forward, we each have such amazing opportunities and aspirations, so honestly just being each other's biggest cheerleaders. Same goes with our men and vice versa, and just rooting for each other and taking it day by day, because you never know what the next week will bring. There will probably be something in a few days that one of us has to announce. What's your favorite part about showing a new side of your lives in ? KATEB It's been really fun being able to see us in different ways and honestly different clothes even (Laughs). We get to wear jeans, a lot more casual. It's still the same us but it's in a different setting, so you still feel that familiar feeling with us, but it's all different. We're doing different things like it's really fun. Are there any moments this season that you're most excited for fans to see? PAGE Malibu Wines. KATEB It was a PPG day and that was really fun. My favorite days of filming. We got to drink. *** Love Island: Beyond the Villa is currently streaming on Peacock, with new episodes dropping every Thursday.
