Iran Israel war: Iran declared war against Israel in name of Haider and Khyber... what's the 1400-year-old connection...
The Iran-Israel war seems to be taking a terrible form. Statements by US President Donald Trump and Israeli PM Netanyahu have already indicated this, but Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said in an Instagram post on the sixth day of the conflict that the war has begun. Khamenei wrote on Instagram, 'In the name of the great Heydar, the battle begins. Ali returns to Khyber with his Zulfiqar.'
There is a possibility of uproar in Israel after this post. Ali Khamenei used 4 such words in his post, which have attracted everyone's attention. These include Haider, Ali, Zulfikar and Khaiber. Let us try to know the meaning of these words, their history and their relation with the recent war.
Haider and Ali
Haider is a name often used for Hazrat Ali, whom Shia Muslims consider the first Imam and successor to the Prophet Muhammad. He was a central figure in Islamic history and Sunni Muslims consider him the fourth Caliph.
He was also the nephew of the Prophet Mohammed and the husband of his daughter Zehra Fatima. Ali means 'lion' in Arabic, symbolising strength, courage and leadership. The Supreme Leader's use of the word 'Haider' while declaring war is a reminder of Ali's legacy and is often used to garner support in times of conflict.
Meaning of 'Zulfiqar'
Ali Khamenei wrote in his post, 'Ali returns to 'Khyber' with his 'Zulfiqar'.' Zulfiqar is the double-edged sword of Imam Ali, which in Islamic tradition symbolizes divine justice, power and victory. It is often shown in posters and banners at Shia ceremonies and represents Ali's rule.
Ali Khamenei's use of Zulfiqar in his post shows readiness for war and the imagination of Allah's help against enemies. It is also a symbolic declaration of strength and resolve.
Khayber where Muslims defeated Jews
Khayber is associated with one of the historic battles of Islam. The Battle of Khayber was fought in 628 AD, in which Prophet Muhammad and his followers led by Imam Ali defeated the Jewish tribes of Khayber in the Arabian Peninsula. The Battle of Khayber symbolizes victory over a dangerous and harmful enemy.
Khayber of Arabia was a prosperous and strategically important area, which could pose a threat to Medina. The Jewish tribes here had strong forts and military resources. Prophet Muhammad and the Muslims attacked Khayber and took control of this area and ensured the safety of Medina, so that no other attack could happen in the future.
Khyber's connection with today's war
Iran is trying to portray the war between Israel and Israel as a war between Muslims and Jews. Iran attributes its hostility to Israel to the occupation of Palestine and the oppression of Muslims there. The third holiest mosque of Islam, Al Aqsa, is located in the occupied Palestinian city of Jerusalem. In Iran, 'Khyber' is often used as a code word for opponents of Israel or Jews, which reminds of the victory of Muslims over Jews in history and gives it a religious form.

Illegal immigration orchestrated drive to change demography, says PM, announces counter-move

NEW DELHI: Airing concerns over infiltration and illegal immigration and their impact on national security and demographic character of border areas, PM Narendra Modi Friday announced the setting up of a 'high-powered demographic mission' to address these challenges. Elaborating on the decades-old problem of illegal immigration from across the international border, Modi said it is part of an orchestrated campaign to alter the nation's demography. "Illegal immigrants are snatching the livelihoods of young citizens. They are targeting our mothers and sisters and capturing lands of innocent tribals. This will not be tolerated," he said. "When there is a demographic change in border areas, it threatens national security. It compromises national integrity, sovereignty and progress and creates social tension. No country hands over its territory to illegal immigrants. It is our duty towards our forefathers, whose sacrifices brought us Independence, not to tolerate such acts," Modi said. He went on to announce the mission to address illegal immigration in a planned manner and within a time frame. Modi, during his Independence Day speech, also hailed the successful counter-operations against Left-wing extremists (LWE), saying tribal youths are now no longer misguided into picking up the gun. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like He is our only child, we cannot see him suffer. Help us! Donate For Health Donate Now Undo Stating that the number of districts under LWE influence is down to 20 from 125, the PM described the reclaiming of large tracts of tribal land from Maoists and saving of tribal youths from losing their lives to violent extremism, as a fitting tribute to tribal icon Birsa Munda on his 150th birth anniversary. The first-ever govt initiative to address illegal immigration, which has over the decades seen alleged Bangladeshi settlers alter the demography of border areas in Assam, West Bengal and even Bihar and Jharkhand, with an exponential rise in Muslims as share of the population, comes even as opposition parties are up in arms against the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of Bihar's electoral rolls, which requires electors registered after 2003 to submit proof of citizenship. The exercise has seen the exclusion of 65 lakh electors from the draft roll, including around 1.2 lakh who could not be traced. EC suspects these may be illegal immigrants. Dealing with illegal immigrants is a complex matter as the powers to detect and deport foreigners are delegated to states, and political and votebank considerations often keep those governed by opposition parties from taking any action. The demography mission may suggest ways to get around these challenges. On the Naxal front, Modi said there was a time when Bastar was identified with Naxalism, guns and bombs. "Today the same Bastar is seeing its youth participate with enthusiasm in the Bastar Olympics. The areas once known as 'Red Corridor' are now becoming 'green corridors' of development. Areas once marked by 'Red' terror on India's map now have the tricolour of the Constitution, law and development flying high," he said.

PM Modi's Speech Signals Clear Counteroffensive In Demographic War

The next elections—maybe up to 2029 and beyond—will be fought on demography, the biggest marker of Bharat's destiny Invisible to incurious eyes, the Red Fort has an Overton window. For nearly seven decades since Independence, it shifted with each Prime Minister's speech on August 15, albeit slowly. It pointed to the direction the nation was taking. With the arrival of Narendra Modi in 2014, the Overton window has started shifting decisively, sometimes even dramatically. The unspeakable has been spoken from the Red Fort ramparts in the last 11 years. The need for toilets. Sanitary pads. And now, about demographic change. India's biggest danger was its best-kept secret. It used to be whitewashed or spoken about privately in hushed tones by its leaders, because they believed Muslims might get upset. PM Modi on Independence Day has not just mentioned the unmentionable, but declared a full-frontal counteroffensive against the demographic war being waged against India for a thousand years. He promised to go after 'systematically planned demographic takeover" and 'deliberate infiltration". He announced a 'high-powered Demography Mission", the contours of which are not yet known. There were signs that a strong and determined pushback against demographic change was on its way. Home minister Amit Shah made it amply clear in his speeches. The special intensive revision (SIR) of Bihar electoral rolls, in which 65 lakh dead, fake, or nonexistent voters have been deleted, followed. CMs of opposition-ruled states like Mamata Banerjee and MK Stalin have reacted to this with alarm, because Muslims, including illegal Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, form their loyal vote bank. Meanwhile, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma started a massive evacuation drive of infiltrator-occupied land in his state. Uttarakhand has brought a strict anti-conversion bill. The Yogi Adityanath government is busting module after module of conversion and love-jihad racket in UP. The Gujarat government was at the forefront of detecting, detaining, and deporting illegals. Maharashtra and Delhi have followed. Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha administrations have been alert about missionary activity and deceitful conversions. The Andhra Pradesh government has been freeing Hindu temples from non-Hindu control of management, a scourge that spread like termite during Jagan Reddy's rule. Even in Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, many Pakistani families living illegally for decades with all government facilities have been identified and rounded up. And now, PM Narendra Modi's Red Fort speech puts all these actions in context. He has made his intention clear. The demographic war on India will no longer go unanswered. There will be a cogent, planned response. Interestingly, right after the PM's speech, RSS ground teams have gone into a huddle on how to take the mission forward. Blueprints are being drawn up locally and nationally. There is little doubt that one of the main motifs of Modi's third term will be the pushback against demographic change. The next elections—maybe up to 2029 and beyond—will be fought on demography, the biggest marker of Bharat's destiny. Abhijit Majumder is a senior journalist. Panel set up to curb infiltration, says PM

New Delhi: India's demography is being changed as a part of a well thought-out conspiracy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged on Friday as he announced a high-powered demographic mission to tackle the 'massive crisis lurking over India'. Prime Minister Narendra Modi salutes during address to the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort on 79th Independence Day. (ANI) 'Today, I want to tell you about a challenge. The country's demography is being changed as a part of a well thought-out conspiracy. A new crisis is being created. And these intruders are snatching away employment opportunities for our youth... They are targeting our sisters and daughters. This will not be tolerated. These intruders are usurping the land of innocent tribals. This country will not tolerate such acts,' Modi said in his customary address to the nation on Independence Day. He added: 'When there is a demographic change, especially in the border states, it creates a crisis for national security. It creates a crisis for the country's unity, integrity and development and creates social tension. No country can give away its land to illegal immigrants. No country in the world can afford to do this. How can India allow this to happen?' Referring to the struggle for India's independence, Modi said: 'Our forefathers have sacrificed themselves to give us freedom and an independent India. It is our duty towards them that we do not tolerate such activities in our country. That will be the real tribute to them.' 'I want to say from the Red Fort, we have decided to start a high-powered demographic mission. With this mission we will tackle the massive crisis lurking over India,' he said, adding that the mission will work within a stipulated time and with a well thought-out strategy. The PM's comments come amid a major political tussle over the identification and deportation of undocumented Bangladeshis in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled states. The Opposition has attacked Modi over the 'harassment' of Bengali-speaking Muslims in the garb of this exercise. Undocumented immigration is a major issue in Assam and West Bengal, the two border states going to the polls next year. Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched what he calls a drive to evict and send back Bangladeshis. In June, Sarma said 330 illegal Bangladeshis were sent back. In July, a political slugfest broke out between West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and her Assam counterpart Sarma on social media on July 19 with the two leaders accusing each other of engaging in divisive and appeasement politics Banerjee alleged that the BJP was persecuting Bengali speakers in Assam. 'This divisive agenda of the BJP in Assam has crossed all limits and people of Assam will fight back. I stand with every fearless citizen who is fighting for the dignity of their language and identity, and their democratic rights,' she posted on X on July 19. Soon after, Sarma hit back stating: 'Didi (Mamata Banerjee), let me remind you—In Assam, we are not fighting our own people. We are fearlessly resisting the ongoing, unchecked Muslim infiltration from across the border, which has already caused an alarming demographic shift. In several districts, Hindus are now on the verge of becoming a minority in their own land,' he wrote on X.
