The Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark were expected to be WNBA Finals contenders heading into the 2025 season. Unfortunately, Clark has been dealing with a lot during her second campaign.
In the 31 games the team has played, Clark has only participated in 13 of them.
She has dealt with multiple different injuries throughout the year. Most recently, she has been forced to the sideline due to a groin injury. Clark has missed a lot of time due to the injury and there is no telling when she'll be able to get back on the court.

Throughout the 13 games she has played this year, Clark has averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, five rebounds, and 1.6 steals, while shooting just 36.7 percent from the floor and 27.9 percent from the three-point line.
Obviously, those are not the numbers she was targeting. After being considered a top-tier WNBA MVP candidate at the start of the season, that hype has cooled.
Despite the rough second season Clark has gone through, one NBA legend spoke out with strong words to the rest of the league about her.
Bob Cousy, who was a star with the Boston Celtics, revealed his opinion about Clark.
"It's a saleable product, and Clark's done a really good job selling it. She's exceptional," Cousy said. "She's had a tremendous impact on that league and their earning potential. They should be kissing the ground she walks on, not trying to foul her and get her out of the game."
He is 100 percent right about the impact Clark has made on the WNBA. She has taken the league to a level that it never thought possible in such a short amount of time. The interest level in women's basketball around the world is at an all-time high.

Granted, there are plenty of other talented women playing in the WNBA, but Clark was the main reason for the big jump the league took.
Hopefully, Clark is able to get back to full health and play basketball again this season. The WNBA simply isn't the same without her on the court.
Only time will tell, but fans are anxiously awaiting her return for the Fever.

NYC man wearing Beavis and Butthead T-shirt wanted for throwing sex toy at Liberty game: NYPD

A man wearing a 'Beavis and Butthead' T-shirt is being sought by police for throwing a lime-green dildo during a New York Liberty game and nearly striking a 12-year-old girl, according to cops. The man with tattoos up and down his arms is shown in security cam footage at the Barclays Center wearing a red and black hat, black shorts, and donning the depraved cartoon duo on a T-shirt, according to Crime Stoppers. On Tuesday, an unruly attendee at the Dallas Wings vs New York Liberty launched a green sex toy towards the court. The sex toy at the Barclays Center did not hit the hardwood — but instead startled a 12-year-old girl sitting with her mother in section 116. 'When it landed, the girl started screaming/freaking out (understandably) for like 30 [seconds] and got the attention of most people within the surrounding rows,' according to the witness. Barclays Center officials snatched the sex toy up and the Liberty game continued uninterrupted with the home team taking the wind out of the Wings with an 85-76 victory. The Brooklyn dildo incident was one of two WNBA games to see rubber phallic doohickeys thrown in stadiums last Tuesday — with Indiana Fever Sophie Cunningham star directly hit by a green dildo during a game against the Los Angeles Sparks. Kelsey Mitchell Makes Honest Caitlin Clark Admission After Indiana Fever's Setback originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Despite missing all three of their point guards, Kelsey Mitchell and the Indiana Fever were able to snap a two-game skid, defeating Kamilla Cardoso and the Chicago Sky 92-70 on Saturday evening. The Fever remained without Caitlin Clark for a 10th consecutive game as she is still dealing with a groin injury. However, Indiana's most recent setback came in Thursday's loss to the Phoenix Mercury, when Sydney Colson (torn ACL) and Aari McDonald (foot) saw their seasons come to an end. And Mitchell recognizes the impact of not having Clark and the other point guards on the court. Kelsey Mitchell Discusses The Fever's Injuries During the game, Mitchell and other Fever players playfully booed coach Stephanie White after she called a timeout with a big lead. The boos were meant as a lighthearted joke, picking fun at their coach. Following the win, Mitchell joined CBS Sports, which broadcast the game, for a postgame interview. When asked about the booing, she said that being without the team's three point guards is 'big,' and added that laughing is essential amid the injury struggles. "We got to laugh to keep from crying," Mitchell said. "Losing Syd was big. Losing Aari McDonald was big. And not having CC is even bigger. Those three not being here, we gotta take every joy that we can and we're going to enjoy it while we can enjoy it, but also respect the game." Mitchell Steals the Show Against Chicago With Clark out, the Fever are missing one of the top playmakers in the league, averaging 8.8 assists per game. White elected to put Cunningham into the starting point guard slot, but it was Mitchell who led he team in finished the night with 26 points on 9-of-18 shooting and 4-of-8 from distance. She also added a season-high eight assists and three rebounds. Cunningham recorded two assists in her first start at point guard. Without Angel Reese for a fifth-straight game, Rachel Banham led the way for the Sky with 11 points. Up next for the Fever (18-14), a battle with Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
