Iconic crime boss Tommy Shelby is set to return to our screens in the coming months in the Peaky Blinders film.
After six hugely successful series on BBC One, the movie is set to spark a surge of interest. But a major announcement has shifted fans' expectations of what will become of Cillian Murphy's gangster Shelby.
It has been confirmed that a seventh series of the BBC show will follow closely on the heels of the movie. The series, scheduled for 2026, will be set in the 1950s, marking a twenty-year leap from when we last saw the show on our screens.
The news will undoubtedly surprise fans who thought the sixth series was the end of the road for the characters. A TV insider revealed to The Sun: "The sixth series was supposed to be the last and the movie was meant to be the final farewell for the story.

"But show boss Steven Knight couldn't resist coming back to the story - his most famous creation - and he's been dropping hints he wanted to return to do more. The fact that it's been officially green-lit by the Beeb and wheels are in motion on pre- production will be a huge thrill to fans of the show, which was a huge hit for the BBC."
Filming for the latest series, which will see the Birmingham lads enter an era dominated by infamous London gangsters the Kray Twins, is due to start in September. The previous series was set in the 1930s, while the upcoming film, titled The Immortal Man, will take viewers to the 1940s during the Second World War, reports the Express.

Jumping forward to the 1950s will have a huge impact on Shelby's character development, as he will have aged significantly since last appearing on our screens. Murphy is rumoured to be making a comeback, but given the time jump, Shelby is expected to step into a new role as a "father figure" to the younger members of the gang.
This exciting update follows writer Steven Knight's enigmatic hint: "The world of 'Peaky' will continue." The show will surely be a huge hit with viewers when it airs on BBC One in the UK and streams on Netflix internationally.
Furthermore, fans are also eagerly anticipating Barry Keoghan's appearance in The Immortal Man after it was previously confirmed that the Saltburn sensation would be joining the cast. The BBC has been contacted for further comment.

Bleary-eyed Dan Osborne stumbles out of hotel after-party with Christine McGuinness while Jac Jossa was in I'm A Celeb
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) BLEARY-EYED Dan Osborne was seen stumbling out of a hotel after-party with Christine McGuinness while his wife Jac Jossa was in the I'm A Celeb jungle. The 2019 images have resurfaced after The Sun revealed reality stars Dan, 33, and Christine, 37, comforted one another amid their marital woes. 8 Bleary-eyed Dan Osborne was seen stumbling out of a hotel after-party with Christine McGuinness in 2019 Credit: James Curley 8 The Sun revealed the pair comforted one another amid their marital woes Credit: The Mega Agency The pair sent flirty texts and model Christine said Dan had joined her for raucous nights out that helped lift her spirits after her split from radio and TV host husband Paddy. The former Towie star was enjoying a night off parenting duties at London's Butterfly Ball, mingling with fellow TV personalities - including Christine - while Jacqueline was Down Under. Arriving on the red carpet, the father-of-three looked sharp in a black suit paired with a skinny tie. As the night progressed, Dan appeared more relaxed, having undone a few buttons and removed his tie. It seemed the influencer, who had been dismissed from Towie in 2015 following threats made to his ex-girlfriend, was enjoying himself at the event. Later in the evening, a dishevelled Dan was spotted laughing and smiling as his friends propped him up and helped him walk on the pavement. The bash also saw Dan mingle with other reality TV personalities, including Christine, Amy Childs, Imogen Thomas and Holly Hagan. Inside, he was pictured enjoying a private chat with Chrstine - who, at one point, bursted into laughter at something he'd said. At the time, reality star Dan was still building bridges with his actress wife over previous cheating claims. EastEnders star Jacqueline and Christine are both represented by the InterTalent agency. Jaqueline Jossa & Dan Osborne spotted spending secret night together at his home as they battle to save 8-year marriage Dan is adamant nothing happened romantically between the pair, even suggesting that the text messages between them were 'deep fakes or AI' when asked. Earlier this year, The Sun revealed Dan had moved out of his and Jacqueline's home and into a property he had bought behind his wife's back. Both temporarily removed their wedding rings. It was the second time they had parted ways over the past few years. Although it was claimed mum-of-two Jacqueline was furious, she later insisted the property purchase was for investment purposes only. Christine, married to Paddy for 11 years — and who has won an award for her documentary about her autism struggles — recently pulled out of Channel 4 show, Celebs Go Dating. In recent weeks, she has revealed she dated both men and women since she was a teenager. Another friend added: 'Christine is in a great place. 'She and Paddy are getting on well, everything is amicable, and she's super-excited about the future. "Life is good. 'Her friendship with Dan seems a lifetime ago. 'They don't really speak now.' 'Positive vibes' Christine and Dan have been involved in charity football matches with Sellebrity Soccer together, including in February 2023. She also managed Dan and other celebs in a game in February last year, in which he captained the team and scored in a 6-4 win on the Isle of Sheppey, Kent. Proudly celebrating their victory, Christine wrote on online: 'It was my positive vibes I was sending. 'My men never let me down, we only do winning.' Dan has previously been hit by claims of cheating. But a pal insisted this behaviour was all 'very much in the past'. Just months after fan favourite Jacqueline was crowned Queen of the I'm A Celeb Jungle, Dan admitted to infidelity. He told The Sun he 'takes full responsibility for being crap'. He said: 'I've made mistakes. 'I've done things I shouldn't have done. 'Me and Jac have spoken about that and she has forgiven me. 'I know in the past I've denied things when they're not true, then when something has been true, I probably just kept my mouth shut. 'I was a different person.' 8 The former Towie star had been enjoying a night out at London's Butterfly Ball Credit: James Curley 8 They were seen enjoying a private conversation inside the event Credit: James Curley 8 She bursted into laughter at something he'd said Credit: James Curley 8 His wife Jac Jossa was Down Under in the I'm A Celeb jungle Credit: Rex 8 Earlier this year, The Sun revealed Dan had moved out of his and Jacqueline's home Credit: Getty

Nadiya Hussain says BBC has not renewed her cookery show
TV chef Nadiya Hussain has announced her cookery show has not been renewed by the BBC for another series. Hussain has fronted several food programmes for the BBC since winning The Great British Break Off in 2015, including Nadiya Bakes, Nadiya's Fast Flavours and Nadiya's Simple in a new post on Instagram, Hussain said the BBC had "decided they didn't want to commission the show anymore", which she described as a "huge turning point".A BBC spokesperson said: "After several wonderful series we have made the difficult decision not to commission another cookery show with Nadiya Hussain at the moment." The statement continued: "Nadiya remains a much-valued part of the BBC family, and we look forward to working together on future projects."Hussain's other series for the broadcaster have included Nadiya's Everyday Baking and Nadiya's Cook Once Eat Twice, as well as the documentary Nadiya: Anxiety and make decisions on which shows to commission based on a number of factors, including viewing figures and value for money, while some shows are rested to make way for new talent. Hussain told her followers: "The BBC have decided that they didn't want to commission a show. And for me, that was a huge turning point because it's something I've done for the past 10 years. "I was already on this steady trajectory of change and I was thinking about where I wanted my career to go, and when the BBC decided they didn't want to commission the show anymore, it really did kind of solidify everything for me, and it made me dig my heels in and think 'OK, I know where I want to be'."Hussain is one of the best known contestants to have appeared on Bake Off, and one of the few to have gone on to front her own cookery programmes for a major TV network. In the same five-minute video message, Hussain discussed her place in the food industry, as well as her position on Gaza."I'm way more mindful of who I work with, brands I work with, especially if they are brands that support the genocide," she said. "I've made sure I'm actively working with brands that align with me. "It's been interesting because there have been lots of changes in my career, that I'm really excited about, I'm excited about taking back a bit of ownership of what I do, how I do it and who I work with, and that's given me a freedom I haven't had in the last 10 years."Many high-profile brands are currently being scrutinised for any links, perceived links, or public positions on either side of the Gaza conflict. Reflecting on her career, Hussain also said she had occasionally struggled while working in the food industry due to her background and the way she is perceived by some."It's really difficult," she said. "As a Muslim woman, I work in an industry that doesn't always support people like me or recognise my talent or full potential. "There's a lot of gaslighting, making me feel like what's actually happening isn't happening."Hussain said she was moving in a "positive direction", adding: "I'm working on some new things, but for me it's about being my most authentic self, and working with people who believe my voice has a platform, and believing in my talent."

Meghan Markle's 'business like' approach to royal rift with Harry exposed
Meghan and Harry have been estranged from the Royal Family for five years, with the Duke of Sussex recently expressing his desire to reconcile with his relatives Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to take contrasting stances on managing their distance from the Royal Family. Reports have suggested that the Duchess of Sussex adopts a rather "business" mindset towards the situation. The duke and duchess stepped back from royal duties five years ago back in 2021, and carved out a new path in the US with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Since then, they have been attempting to launch their careers in new directions. Despite having levelled numerous critiques at the Royal Family over time, recently, Prince Harry has signalled his desire for reconciliation. New insights, however, suggest that while Meghan is very supportive of Harry's legal battles and the "painful rift" with his family, she is perceived as having a more pragmatic "business"-like perspective, reportedly wishing Harry could be less affected "by the past and more present in the life they've built together". It is believed that the Sussexes feel excluded from intricate royal affairs taking place in the UK, reports the Express. "They [Harry and Meghan] are aware of everything going on in England, but they're being left out of the details - there's clearly no trust," a source speaking to People magazine remarked. Finding it challenging to be fully informed about his father, Prince Harry reportedly struggles to receive precise updates regarding King Charles. Last month, the duke expressed to the BBC his concern over the lack of communication with his father and his uncertainty about the time the King may have left. Moreover, he voiced a hope for mending ties with his relatives, saying: "Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things, but there's no point in continuing to fight anymore." Prince Harry expressed his desire for reconciliation, stating: "I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious." However, Sally Bedell Smith, a royal biographer, suggested that trust remains a significant hurdle. In an interview with People magazine, she revealed: "The King and William don't trust Harry and Meghan with any kind of confidential conversation." Valentine Low, another author, noted that although Harry's BBC interview wasn't intended as a direct attack on the Royal Family, "it would be seen as one," making it even more challenging for Charles to extend an olive branch. Elsewhere, the Duke of Sussex was reportedly left furious after the King and British officials caused "repeated delays" in issuing his children's passports, leading to a name change. Prince Harry allegedly considered changing his family name to Spencer following "repeated delays by British officials" in issuing passports for his children, Archie and Lilibet. The Duke of Sussex had reportedly "discussed the issue" with his late mother's brother, Earl Spencer. He allegedly "actively explored ways" to make the switch while in the UK, but it is said that "the legal hurdles were insurmountable". The claims have been rejected as "completely untrue" by sources close to the Sussexes, sparking debate among commentators who believe such a move could worsen tensions within the Royal Family.
