Young Stunna's rocky relationship with Zim fans deepens after latest no-show
South African Amapiano star Young Stunna has once again found himself at the centre of controversy in Zimbabwe after failing to appear at a much-anticipated weekend gig. This has reignited tensions that have brewed over multiple visits. The ' Adiwele ' hitmaker was billed to perform at Fiesta Fiesta alongside Sha Sha, but his absence, blamed on an 'unforeseen family emergency', turned what had been an energetic night into chaos. As reported by H-Metro , fans, who had been waiting since early afternoon, reacted angrily, with some hurling bottles at the stage and damaging property. Young Stunna issued a 'heartfelt' apology. 'It is with much regret that we announce the postponement of my performances this weekend scheduled for 8th – 10th August 2025 due to an unforeseen family emergency. 'We understand this may have caused great inconvenience for the promoter, their sponsors as well as the fans / supporters, therefore we truly apologies.' 'Posting your cancellation after the show is crazy when fans have been waiting since 1 pm for you. You hate Zimbabwe,' one disgruntled supporter wrote online. Another added, 'The least you could have done was tell us about the emergency before the show, not after seeing an angry crowd.' While some social media users expressed sympathy, wishing the artist well if his emergency was genuine, many accused him of showing disregard for Zimbabwean audiences. This is not the first flashpoint. In 2023, Young Stunna's no-show at Bulawayo's Shorts and Shades event sparked similar unrest, with angry fans throwing objects onto the stage. In 2022, a bottle allegedly struck him during a performance in the country. Despite his chart-topping hits like Bopha and Adiwele , Young Stunna's visits to Zimbabwe have become synonymous with disappointment for many concertgoers — a troubling pattern that risks further straining his relationship with a once-loyal fan base. Shekhinah's 'Less Trouble': a heartfelt surprise album that softens the blow of heartbreak
Surprise! Shekhinah unveils a new body of work that nobody was prepared for; this time, she is giving fans 'Less Trouble'. Image: Instagram/@shekhinahd Shekhinah is back, and while she gave us a few hints last year with lead singles, no one saw the full album coming like this. Late last night, just a minute before midnight, the singer-songwriter announced on Instagram that her brand-new album 'Less Trouble' would be out at midnight. Since 'Risk' and 'Steady' were released in 2024 as lead singles, there were no other rollouts this year. No other teaser single or a hint that she is coming, just a caption that read: 'If you're seeing this, my album, 'Less Trouble', is out now at midnight. Love you all. Until, until, until. See you at Rose Fest.' The 30-year-old talented musician shared the album artwork along with the post. It shows her holding what looks like a book, open to reveal the album's synopsis and tracklist. It is a visual that sets the tone for the album, reflective, intentional and personal. The synopsis reads: 'A book on more heartbreak, but less heartache. The art of going in absolute circles. We are no strangers to falling in and out of love. Put together sincerely by Shekhinah.' That one paragraph captures the core of the album. Shekhinah has never been shy about exploring love and loss, and this time she's doing it with more perspective, showing fans that things do get better. She last dropped an album in 2021, 'Trouble in Paradise'. Like the title says, it's a body of work full of emotional turmoil, heartbreak, disappointment and the struggle to find peace. This new project feels like the follow-up to that emotional journey. 'Less Trouble' does not pretend heartbreak has gone away. It shows that, with time, we might learn to carry it better and love again. The album features appearances by Amapiano sensation Young Stunna, who brings his unique flair and introspective lyrics that he is loved for on 'Spoonky', a love song that touches on enjoying time spent with a significant partner. Besides the Shekhinah and Young Stunna collaboration, another interesting fact about this song is the sample. 'Sponky Ponky' by the legendary Jabu Khanyile inspired the version on 'Less Trouble', and additionally, you can hear Shekhinah's soothing voice in the background as she adlibs in isiZulu. Moily, Mars Baby and Lordkez also make an appearance in the album. Each collaborator brings their own energy, adding layers to Shekhinah's already rich sound. The music remains grounded in her signature blend of R&B, pop, and alternative influences, and this time she also includes the Amapiano log drum on the last track, 'Until Until'. In addition to the album release, Shekhinah is also hosting the latest edition of her all-women music festival, Rosefest, taking place on August 9 at Nasrec in Johannesburg. The event coincides with National Women's Day and aims to spotlight women in the South African music industry. This year's theme is 'Festival of Fantasy', and the festival also pays homage to her 2017 debut album, 'Rose Gold'.

‘I was super nervous and scared to mess up': Nasty C on his debut on news channel as a guest host
Nasty C has worked as a teller at a leading retailer, had a stint at a panel beater and has also experimented in other blue-collar careers. In take-a-girl-to-work style, South African rapper Nasty C has been experiencing what it's like to do regular day-to-day jobs. 'The idea behind the series was to experience normal people's version of working hard. I thought of the idea as a part of a campaign that I was supposed to do for my song, Soft, but after a couple of episodes, I fell in love with the whole thing and decided to continue,' Nasty C said. In recent months, Nasty C has worked as a teller at one of the country's leading retailers, had a stint at a panelbeater and experimented in other blue-collar careers. On Monday, following displays of his love for walking in other people's shoes, Nasty C received an invite to host Dan Corder show as a guest host. 'I chose Nasty C because he's been doing these fun experiments with doing different kinds of jobs,' Corder said. 'That's where the idea came from. What if he hosted a TV show, what if he hosted my kind of TV show.' 'With the Dan Corder show, it was kind of the same thing… I got to step into his shoes a little bit and see what it's like being a TV host,' said Nasty C. 'None of these jobs that people do are easy. I gained so much and learnt a lot from doing these different jobs.' ALSO READ: Dan Corder on his history-making TV deal and building trust with his audience Nasty C the broadcaster Real name David Ngcobo, Nasty C, who often interacts with his fans on social media, said co-hosting Corder's show was quite nerve-wracking. 'I was super nervous and scared to mess up and slow everyone down. You don't want to be the guy that is the reason why they're doing so many takes and slowing things down. It's a lot of pressure when it comes to stuff like this,' the 28 year-old said. Nerves might have had him in a chokehold, but it didn't show on screen as the Juice Back rapper handled it with the standard bravado of a rap artist. 'It was a real pleasure writing jokes for him and writing a script for him. He was so cool and up for everything we tried,' said Corder on Nasty C's appearance. 'It went really well. Now we're thinking who else we can get on,' said Corder. 'Imagine getting like Eben Etzebeth, who is known as this absolute warrior, enforcer striking terror into the hearts of anybody who watches or plays rugby, telling jokes about the news. It could be brilliant.' Nasty C isn't sure about whether he would take a career in broadcasting after his appearance on the political satire show. 'Honestly, I don't know. I'm leaning more towards the no side, but I do enjoy streaming, and I enjoy making content, so maybe if it was a setting where I felt super comfortable and I was part of a team with the homies where I wasn't afraid to talk sh*t or talk for hours on end… maybe…' For Corder it was fun to have someone like Nasty C on the show who isn't known for speaking about the day's breaking news. 'It's nice to push the boundaries with a potential guest like this when this isn't their main thing or something they're used to doing.' The Corder Report was recently licensed for distribution by eNCA, a first for South African television. NOW READ: PICS: Nasty C is gonna be a dad!
