EastEnders exit story confirmed for two characters in early BBC iPlayer release
Two EastEnders characters are set to leave Albert Square behind after being gifted an opportunity in recent scenes.
Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) made the difficult decision to sell the Queen Vic in recent weeks, and tonight the sale was finalised.
Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) was determined to get her hands on the local boozer, and things were looking promising when Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) offered her the money from Martin Fowler's life insurance.
However, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) also had his sights set on the pub, not to mention local developers who were interested in demolishing the building.
By the time the auction began, Stacey had changed her mind about the money, having been told by Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) that Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) desperately needed to pay people off.
With Kat out of the running, the auction continued, though Mo and Jean Slater (Laila Morse and Gillian Wright) did everything they could to delay proceedings.
Meanwhile, having been talked round by Jean, Stacey paid Kat a visit and revealed that she was giving her the money after all.
As Kat and Stacey raced across the Square to the Vic, the auction attendees flooded out, after Jean set off the fire alarm in a bid to prevent a developer from buying the pub.
Having learnt that Kat was back on board, Linda decided to pull out of the auction altogether, instead accepting Kat's offer. More Trending
With the future of the Queen Vic secured, and Kat having agreed to a house swap, Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) suggested that Linda and Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) take some time away from Walford.
It didn't take long to persuade them to accept the cruise, much to the disappointment of Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy), who believed she was taking the holiday.

Max Murray has landed a role in EastEnders alongside legendary stars but it has now been revealed he comes from a long-line of actors and singers in his family. The youngster has been portraying character Joel Marshall since February this year but it turns out he is actually following in his famous mum's footsteps. Max is the son of actress Gina Murray, who has starred in a number of well known programmes including The Bill, Doctors and The Hunt for Raoul Moat and appeared in the BBC soap back in 2014 playing Helen. Gina's character Helen arrived in Albert Square as a hair specialist to help Carol Jackson, who was struggling with losing her hair as she fought off cancer. It was Helen's role to help Carol find a wig. Max is also the nephew of Mazz Murray, who is a successful TV and theatre actress, starring in Sunset Boulevard, Mamma Mia and Chicago to name but a few. In 2004, Mazz also starred on EastEnders as a waitress called Miranda who had a brawl with Heather Trott and Shirley Carter. The youngster has been portraying character Joel Marshall since February this year but turns out he is actually following in his famous mum's footsteps In 2017, Mazz returned to Walford but this time was playing a character called Julie, who was a divorced woman who hired Keanu Taylor as a male escort for a night of fun and frolics. Max's character Joel is the step-son of Vicky Fowler, who returned to the square for the funeral of her uncle Martin Fowler. Her new boyfriend Ross is played by Alex Walkinshaw. At the time when Max's role was announced, he told the Mirror: 'It's an absolute privilege and honour to be joining such a wonderful production full of a lovely cast and crew. 'I'm really looking forward to introducing Joel to EastEnders viewers and telling his story.' It comes as EastEnders favourite Nicholas Bailey will make a shock return as Dr. Anthony Trueman to the soap, more than a decade since he was last seen in Walford. The character – son of Patrick Trueman (played by Rudolph Walker) – will be back on screens in scenes to air in the summer. Anthony first arrived on the Square in 2000 and quickly made waves, thanks in part to a steamy romance with Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace). Now, 11 years on from his last stint, the GP is set for a dramatic reunion with his dad this summer as Patrick and Yolande prepare to tie the knot. Anthony last appeared in EastEnders in 2014 when he rushed to his father's side when Patrick suffered a stroke. Since then, he has led a life away from Walford but in upcoming scenes viewers will see he is invited to his father's impending nuptials and decides to return for the occasion. In a post on the official Eastenders Instagram account, the long running soap teased the visit to Walford comes at a significant moment for Patrick, which means Anthony stays longer than he originally intended. In a statement, executive producer Ben Wadey said: 'It's great to welcome Nicholas back to the EastEnders family to reunite Patrick with his son. 'But Anthony's plan for a brief return to surprise his father ends up with him staying longer than he expected when he uncovers what has been going on in the Trueman household.' Nicholas who will reprise the iconic role added: 'It is an unexpected treat to return to EastEnders and I'm full of gratitude to get the opportunity to revisit the character of Anthony. 'It's wonderful to work with Rudolph Walker again - he's such a big part of my journey as an actor and I loved filming my first scenes with him after so long.

David Attenborough's next major documentary series has release date confirmed
A brand new documentary from Sir David Attenborough is coming, and fans don't have long to wait until it hits screens. Five-part series Parenthood will explore the trials and tribulations of parenting within the animal kingdom and how it can be a 'high-stakes game in which some animal parents must come up with extraordinary strategies to give their young a head start.' It was filmed over three years and across six continents, and will be narrated by Attenborough. Parenthood will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, beginning on August 3 at 7.20pm. It promises to show viewers never-before-seen animal behaviours while delivering a 'universal message about preserving the natural world.' Speaking to The Mirror, BBC head of specialist factual commissioning, Jack Bootle, described Parenthood as 'wonderful, warm, engaging, and surprising.' Tom Hanks' 'best performance of his career' now ready to watch on BBC iPlayer
A Tom Hanks film with "relentless tension" has been released on BBC iPlayer, more than a decade after it made its global debut. Tom Hanks delivers "one of the best performances of his career" in a "relentlessly intense" thriller now available on BBC iPlayer. From Big and Castaway to Saving Private Ryan and Forrest Gump, Tom Hanks is a Hollywood icon with a career spanning over four decades. However, it was in October 2013 that Hanks made a triumphant return to the silver screen in the action-packed thriller Captain Phillips. Based on true events, Captain Phillips tells the story of the 2009 hijacking of the US cargo ship Maersk Alabama by Somali pirates, with Hanks portraying the eponymous captain. Now, 12 years after its initial release, the Tom Hanks thriller can be watched for free. Captain Phillips was added to BBC iPlayer on Saturday, July 26, allowing fans to enjoy the film at their leisure without needing a subscription. The biographical drama received numerous award nominations, and actor Barkhad Abdi clinched the 2014 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
