'Pioneer Woman' Ree Drummond Reveals 'Dumb' Baking Hack for 'Delicious' Cookies
just shared her go-to baking hack for making super special and "delicious" cookies to honor a recent graduate, but honestly, this trick is a game-changer for all birthdays and celebrations going forward.
Over the weekend, The Pioneer Woman uploaded a video of herself baking several batches of her favorite chocolate chip recipe–just without any chocolate chips, and no, she wasn't going for the chipless chocolate chip cookie, either.
Instead of chocolate chips, she suggested using your preferred cookie recipe as a base and taking "your kid's favorite cereal and candy" and stirring it into the mix, similar to a Kitchen Sink Cookie, without caramel or toffee (unless you want it).
In the video, the Food Network personality appeared to be using a combination of Cap'n Crunch cereal, broken pretzel pieces, chopped dark chocolate, mini peanut butter cups and M&M's.

Once the cookies are cool, Ree said to "ice them with chocolate or vanilla frosting (whatever your graduate likes,) then sprinkle more of everything on top."
Though the cookbook author admits the hack is "kinda dumb," she also promises it's a "fun" and "delicious" ode to whoever you're celebrating.
"Might as well send 'em into their future happy!!!" she quipped.
Fans agreed, with one top-liked comment cheering, "this looks amazing! What a fun idea!🤤."

'I feel far more at home under the water than floating on top of it – sadly, I don't have gills,' Threapleton quips. 'I still love the natural world. And then at some point, I realized that I'm horrifyingly dyslexic and can't do quick math, so I don't think that's quite going to go the way I planned.' How Jodie Foster sparked her love of acting Growing up, Threapleton recalls putting on shows in her garden and playing a lion in an after-school drama club at age 7. She adored Anderson's movies 'Moonrise Kingdom' and 'Fantastic Mr. Fox,' although it was seeing a young Jodie Foster in gangster musical 'Bugsy Malone' that inspired her to become an actress. But it was the 2020 post-apocalyptic thriller 'Shadows,' after she graduated high school, that marked her first professional acting role. 'I was so relieved to not be in school anymore, so when I was done, I threw myself into wanting to audition,' Threapleton says. 'It was the first-ever full film script that I had seen properly and I just inhaled it into my brain.' The audition process lasted for a couple of weeks before she learned she got the part: 'I was carrying laundry downstairs when my phone rang. I just sat on the floor – I couldn't believe I'd done that.' She has not yet had a conversation about reuniting with Anderson, now that she's part of his troupe. 'I'm just taking every day one day at a time,' Threapleton says. 'I didn't think this was going to happen for me. I had so many different backup plans: Could I be a photographer? A painter? A sound engineer? What could I do that's still creative if this doesn't work? So I'm just letting it all wash around me right now.'

National awards, praise bestowed on Asheville restaurants, bars, breweries
ASHEVILLE - Asheville diners and imbibers know what the city has to offer, and the nation and world are taking notice. Beverage industry and Southern lifestyle publications have applauded local restaurants and bars for their menus and overall excellence. Several breweries and distilleries have been awarded medals in international craft beer and spirits competitions. Taste the best of the best ― here are some of Asheville's latest award-winning and accolade-earning destinations.: Southern Living editors scoured the country for the best new bites, finding three Asheville establishments worthy of making its list of the 20 Best New Restaurants in the South.: Good Hot Fish, a modern fish camp owned and operated by Chef Ashleigh Shanti, a former "Top Chef" and recurring Food Network contestant, offers a menu of creatively crafted seafood and Appalachian dishes ranging from catfish to trout bologna sandwiches. The eatery opened in January 2024 inside Eulogy, a music venue at Burial Beer Co., 10 Buxton Ave., in South Slope. Luminosa, a modern Appalachian-meets-Italian cuisine restaurant, opened in May 2024 in the historic Flatiron Building, which has been renovated as The Flat Iron Hotel at 20 Battery Park Ave. Led by Executive Chef Graham House and Chef de Cuisine Sean McMullen, Luminosa's seasonal menu regularly rotates with pasta, pizza and other vegetable-forward plates. Potential New Boyfriend, a wine bar and music listening lounge at 21 Haywood Road, opened in West Asheville in December. The menu of snacks and desserts, curated by pastry chef Dana Amromin, complements its modern, chic aesthetic and beverage selections. Save room for the artisan ice cream made by the owner, Disco. Good Hot Fish, Luminosa and Potential New Boyfriend were the only North Carolina businesses on the list, which can be viewed at Craft Spirits Magazine released its annual list of the best bars in the nation, with nods to two downtown watering holes, The Crow & Quill and Top of the Monk, which represent the Southeast on the list of favorites. The honorees were nominated by readers and selected for their approach to not just serving but also celebrating craft spirits. The Crow & Quill is a Prohibition-era speakeasy-style bar located at 106 N. Lexington Ave. featuring a catalog of nearly 1,100 spirits, including about 800 whiskeys. The Crow & Quill was one of 27 on the 2024 USA TODAY Bars of the Year list. Top of the Monk is the third-level cocktail bar at 92 Patton Ave. It's the top-floor concept with a rooftop deck in the same building as the craft beer taprooms, Thirsty Monk on the main floor and Delirium Bar in the basement, which are temporarily closed. Wildlife Prairie Park prepares for Wild Nights events series
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — With kids out of school and warmer weather on its way, Wildlife Prairie Park in Hanna City is preparing a number of events for people of all ages to have fun while experiencing nature. Winter Katterhenry, the park's education lead and animal keeper, stopped by WMBD This Morning to tell our Shabnam Danesh about everything the park has in store for the month of June. The biggest event the park is putting on is actually a weekly series called Wild Nights. Every Friday between now and September, the park will stay open late, with special events aimed at a variety of age groups. For kids aged 7 to 12, there are the JR Naturist classes. These will cover a number of topics like bird watching, identifying different types of trees, and learning about invasive species. Starting at 9 p.m., the park will offer Night Hikes, which offer a new look at familiar trails and habitats. Some hikes also have unique themes, like guided meditations and a 'haunted' hike in September ahead of Halloween. And for adults, the park will hold 'Critters and Cocktails' events starting on June 20. Guests will be able to mix drinks based on animals at the park, and will receive Wildlife Prairie Park branded shot glasses as a souvenir. Starting on June 13, the park is inviting area bands to play music as part of their Wildfire Concerts series. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy bands like Semi-Sweet and Kasino.
