Can the Brooklyn Nets help the Boston Celtics this NBA offseason? As the team in the league with the largest payroll that is also over the second apron long enough to incur the worst penalties mandated by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), the Celtics are staring at being hit with a potentially historic payroll and tax bill on top of the punitive team building penalties the CBA will dole out on Boston.
Enter the Nets, who are the only team in the Association that is going to have the sort of cap space the Celtics would need to absorb the kind of salary necessary in single-team deals to get Boston out of being a second (and perhaps even first) apron ball club. There are other, more complex ways the Celtics could get cheaper -- and others that would take more time -- but if the Celtics want to get cheaper in a hurry, all roads lead to Brooklyn.

But after defeating the Orlando Magic in the 2009 finals, the Lakers went up against the Celtics again in the 2010 championship series, and this time, they prevailed in seven games. Even when Bryant shot poorly versus Boston — and he certainly had some bad shooting games in the finals versus Boston — he kept coming and remained aggressive. Boston Celtics jersey history No. 21 - Andy Duncan (1950-51) The Boston Celtics have had players suiting up in a total of 68 different jersey numbers (and have three others not part of any numerical series) since their founding at the dawn of the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- the league that would become today's NBA), worn by well over 500 players in the course of Celtics history. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Celtics Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. With 25 of those jerseys now retired to honor some of the greatest Celtics to wear those jerseys, there is a lot of history to cover. And for today's article, we will continue with the second of nine people to wear the No. 21, Boston big man alum Andy Duncan. After ending his college career at William and Mary, Duncan was picked up with the 53rd overall selection of the 1947 BAA draft by the New York Knicks. The Burford, Georgia instead played his first season in the league for the (then) Rochester Royals (now, Sacramento Kings) after playing a season in another domestic league. That ended when his contract was sold to Boston in 1950 for his final season in the league.
