Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda tied the knot with Lin Laishram in 2023. His marriage was much discussed on social media. Now, Randeep told in a recent interview that his marriage took place in civil war-like conditions. Randeep Hooda, who appeared in a negative role in the film 'Jaat', told how he was given a bowl in the traditional rituals during the marriage in which he had to urinate. The 48-year-old told Mid-Day , 'It was a big thing where people said I wasn't getting married to a Jatt girl. My marriage itself was a big drama since there was a problem going on in Manipur, and we were thinking of getting married.'
Randeep Hooda was adamant about this before marrying Lin Laishram
The actor revealed he was adamant that he would get married there as, 'Ladki ke ghar jaake shaadi nahi ki toh kya shaadi hui (Is it even a marriage if you don't get married at the girl's house)?'
The actor shared how a friend who was a brigadier with the Assam Rifles helped him. 'I called him, and he said, 'Come, I'll get you married.' So 10-12 of us went there, and we had never been there. We had no idea about their ceremonies,' Randeep said.
Even though his wife Lin tried to show him videos, he only pretended to watch them as he was busy editing 'Savarkar' at that time. Hooda recalled having pure vegetarian food, worshipping all their gods before getting married. His friends also joked about whether he had brought them to a wedding or a sacred pilgrimage. Randeep Hooda was given a bowl to pee as a tradition
One incident doesn't forget him from the wedding that he was given a bowl to pee in a dignified manner. Hooda said, 'I had a helper with me, more like a tutor. So once the groom puts his thing on his head, you can't tilt your head. You go to the ceremony, and they give you a bowl and an umbrella. They then put you in a holding area where everyone is supposed to come and look at you, and you are supposed to look very dignified.'
He continued, 'I asked what the bowl was for, and he said if you need to pee, you just open the umbrella and pee over there, you cannot move out of there because you are god,' he added. Randeep said, 'Haryanvi (culture) is rough and crass, theirs was so systematic and elegant.'

During the conversation, Gulshan also spoke about his bond with his son, Sanjay Grover , highlighting how family is central to him. He shared, 'I am divorced from his mother, and she lives separately. Any parent would feel like enough is enough, my son has lived outside for so many years, we should live together now. He came, and we worked out an arrangement where he would stay on the top floor of my duplex house, and I would stay on the bottom floor. He was free to enter my space, but I didn't have permission to enter his space.' He added that his pride in Sanjay's accomplishments drives him to be more generous and caring in life. 'Today it's changed to this: I want to see big success, big achievements of my son Sanjay Grover,' he said, recalling his son's journey from studying at UCLA to working at Hollywood studios and now producing films in India. Gulshan also mentioned that Sanjay's creative vision influenced him deeply, including the creation of his own 'Badman' brand. 'His experience of making films in Hollywood as well as watching world cinema – German, French, American, Korean – helps me get a certain kind of vision, which I do not possess,' he explained.
