Police appealing for witnesses, info after driver injured in single-vehicle crash in north Etobicoke
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 54-year-old driver was injured in a single-vehicle collision in north Etobicoke on Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened at 3 p.m. on the northbound ramp to Highway 427 at Finch Avenue West.
The Toronto OPP says the motorist was heading northbound and had exited at Finch. They then went through the intersection and drove into the ditch before hitting a barrier, police say.
The driver was taken to a trauma centre.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 416-235-4981 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

4-year-old taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after Perth County collision
An Ontario Provincial Police officer attends a scene in this file image. A young child is fighting for their life after a collision in Perth County. Emergency responders were called to Perth Line 56 just outside of Topping, a community west of Wellesley, on Friday around 1:30 p.m. Ontario Provincial Police said an unloaded commercial motor vehicle had hit a 4-year-old from Mornington Township. The child was taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. They were then airlifted to a trauma centre for further treatment. Perth Line 56 was closed for several hours during the initial investigation, but has since reopened. The investigation in ongoing. Any witnesses, or anyone with footage of the incident, is urged to contact the Ontario Provincial Police.

Shelter in place lifted in Bracebridge

OPP posted on X Friday night asking residents in the Beatrice Townline Road area to stay indoors after officers responded to a potentially armed person in distress. Early Saturday morning, OPP lifted the shelter in place request and have said there is no immediate threat to the public, but have urged residents to stay alert and be aware of their surroundings The individual has not been located and residents in the area could see an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
