Kettering Health provides update on cyberattack; Internal health records back online
Now in its second week recovering from a cyberattack that led to a system-wide technology outage, Kettering Health continues to get systems back online.

As of 6 a.m. Monday morning, Kettering Health launched the core components of its Epic (Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, according to an update from the network.

This allowed Kettering Health clinical staff to begin using the records as of 7 a.m.
'This marks a major milestone in our broader restoration efforts and a vital step toward returning to normal operations,' the network said.
It took 200 individuals, including members of both the Kettering Health Information Systems team and the Clinical team, to get the systems back online, according to Kettering Health.
With the EHR system back online, Kettering Health is now about to update and access electronic health records, facilitate communication across care teams, and coordinate patient care faster.
The network called it a 'significant step forward' in their system-wide restoration.
Progress continues to get in and outbound calling to Kettering Health facilities and practices back online, as well as MyChart for patients.

Former GA middle school employee charged with sexual exploitation of children
Deputies have charged a former Georgia middle school employee with possessing child sexual abuse material. A K-9 team that specializes in finding electronic devices that store data assisted with the arrest. The Haralson County Sheriff's Office arrested Bradley Kingsley on Tuesday and charged him with felony sexual exploitation of children. The GBI's Internet Crimes Against Children division said there were several videos of children involved in sexual acts uploaded to a Verizon account. Investigators tracked the IP address back to a house where they say Kingsley lived and got a warrant. The Murray County Sheriff's Office and its electronic storage detection K-9 team also searched the home. K-9 Maxim and his handler found nine hidden electronic storage devices in the home. The sheriff's office said Kingsley was a former Carroll County Schools employee. The district confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that Kingsley once worked at Bay Springs Middle School. A spokesperson sent the following statement: 'The district learned of the arrest of a former employee. Although the individual has not been employed at Bay Springs Middle School since 2020, we are saddened to hear the news. Hank Aaron game-worn jersey sold for $168,000 at auction
A jersey worn by baseball legend Hank Aaron during his Milwaukee Braves days sold at a recent auction. Grey Flannel Actions in Arizona auctioned the 1963 jersey for $168,000. 5-year-old in critical condition after suspected drunk driver runs red light
A 5-year-old is in critical condition after a suspected drunk driver ran a red light Monday. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] As News Center 7 previously reported, the crash was reported at the intersection of Stewart and Main streets before 7:30 p.m. A Ford F-150 Tremor was traveling south on Main Street when, at East Stewart, it ran a red light and hit the back driver's side of a Honda Odyssey, according to a Dayton police spokesperson. The Ford F-150 then hit a Toyota RAV4. The driver of the Ford F-150 and the three people in the Toyota RAV4 were not taken to the hospital. The cause of the crash is suspected to be OVI, police said.
