"India's delegation counters Pakistan's fake narrative," says Indian Diaspora

India Gazette31-05-2025
Jakarta [Indonesia], May 31 (ANI): Members of the Indian diaspora in Jakarta have lauded the multi-party Indian delegation for its unified stance and efforts in countering misinformation on the global stage.
'The best part of the delegation is that it involves members of all parties, which sends a message that India stands united in this challenging time. Looking at all the parties together is a proud moment for all of us. This effort was significant in telling the world about our action against terrorists,' said Hemant Mewada from Rajasthan, a member of the Indian diaspora in Jakarta.
Puneet Bakshi, another member of the Indian diaspora from Rajasthan, emphasised the importance of combating misinformation.
'Today, the war is not just of weapons but of information as well. It was very important for the Indian government to clarify the fake narrative being spread by Pakistan, and they have achieved their purpose through the delegation that has cleared all our doubts,' he stated.
On May 28, JD-U MP Sanjay Kumar Jha led the delegation that arrived in Jakarta as part of Operation Sindoor's global outreach.
The delegation, led by JD-U MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, includes Aparajita Sarangi (BJP), TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, Brij Lala (BJP), John Brittas (CPI-M), Pradan Baruah (BJP), Hemang Joshi (BJP), Salman Khurshid and Mohan Kumar.
As part of its Operation Sindoor outreach, on Friday, the delegation spent the second day of their visit engaging in high-level meetings with Indonesia's leading policy institutions and think tanks. According to the Indian Embassy in Jakarta, discussions were held with experts from the Indonesian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), The Habibie Center, Indo-Pacific Strategic Intelligence (ISI), Center for Indonesia Policy Studies (CIPS), and leading academics from the University of Indonesia and the Indonesia Air Power Studies Center.
These interactions underscored India's consistent message of zero tolerance for cross-border terrorism and the need to jointly counter false narratives spread by vested interests. The think tanks acknowledged and appreciated India's position.
The all-party Indian delegation comprises MPs across party lines, including BJP, Congress, JD(U), and Shiv Sena (UBT), as part of India's broader diplomatic outreach on global counterterrorism efforts. (ANI)

Youth Cong hold ‘Halla Bol' march against BJP, EC

New Delhi: The Indian Youth Congress on Tuesday took out a 'Halla Bol' march against the alleged conspiracy of 'vote-chori' and 'weakening of democracy' by the BJP and the Election Commission. The protest march was planned from the Youth Congress headquarters on 5, Raisina Road to the Elec-tion Commission office. However, police detained the protesters outside the IYC office itself. Leading the protest, IYC national president Uday Bhanu Chib alleged that the BJP came to power after 'stealing votes', as he accused the party of undermining democratic processes. 'Rahul Gandhi has exposed every theft with facts. The Youth Congress will not remain silent if the BJP steals votes,' Chib said. On Monday, opposition MPs from the INDIA bloc, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Sharad Pawar, took out a march from Parliament to the EC headquarters against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, alleging vote fraud during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. However, they were also detained by Delhi Police during the protest.

CM flags off Tiranga cyclothon for girls from Vidhan Sabha

New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday flagged off Tiranga cyclothon for girls from Delhi Legislative As-sembly in Civil Lines to Rajghat. Addressing the participants, Gupta said the true glory of the national flag will be realised when girls achieve complete freedom and that her government is committed to securing a better future for them. The cyclothon, aimed at empowering women, was flagged off by CM Gupta along with Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood. Meanwhile, the Union Culture Ministry's 'Har Ghar Tiranga Bike Rally', was flagged off by Union Parlia-mentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, CM Gupta, and several Members of Parliament. At the bike rally, CM Gupta said, 'Have you seen before 2014, that a Prime Minister is leading people with Tiranga in his hands? Leaders left the Tiranga before Independence. Today, people who keep the copy of the Constitution in their pockets don't have Tiranga in their hands.' 'They are the same people who used to claim that they got the country independent but today the same people don't believe in the country's integrity,' she said. The CM added that 'our lives depend on this Tiranga and the three colours represent the prosperity of the country'. 'Every Indian aspires that our Tiranga remains high and immortal. The sky echoes with the chants of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' as this Tiranga Yatra is being taken out,' she said. Everyone, right from the MPs to our brave soldiers, is expressing their patriotism. Even 78 years after Independence, our love for our country is continuously increasing with each passing year, the CM said. 'I thank PM Narendra Modi for taking this national festival to every household.' Sood urged citizens not to treat Independence Day as a long weekend. 'We should contribute in keeping our homes and locality clean,' he said. India will celebrate its 79th Independence Day on August 15.

Soldier Killed In Action Near Line Of Control During Pak Infiltration Attempt

A soldier was killed near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri during a major firefight between Indian and Pakistan forces during an infiltration attempt. According to sources in the Army, infiltrators tried to enter India late on August 12. This was different from a routine infiltration attempt, as the intruders received firing support from the Pakistan Army. Such an infiltration attempt is typically carried out with the support of Pakistan's Border Action Teams, the dirty tricks department of the Pakistan Army. As Indian soldiers retaliated to the infiltration attempt, a gunfight broke out and a soldier succumbed to his injuries. The infiltration attempt was foiled, but the intruders took advantage of the bad weather and managed to escape. An official Army statement on the incident is awaited. This is the first major provocation by Pakistan after the uneasy calm in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, India's counterstrike to the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 innocents dead. Following India's targeted airstrikes in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and Pakistan's drone attacks along India's western border, the two sides had agreed on a ceasefire after Islamabad reached out to New Delhi. The past couple of months have seen Pakistani leaders make reckless public statements. Pakistan's Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir recently made headlines for his threats to nuke India. Speaking in the US, Munir reportedly threatened to take down "half the world" if Pakistan faced an existential threat in a future war with India. India responded that "nuclear sabre-rattling" is Pakistan's "stock-in-trade", and expressed regret that such remarks were made from the soil of a friendly third country. "The international community can draw its own conclusions on the irresponsibility inherent in such remarks, which also reinforces the well-held doubts about the integrity of nuclear command and control in a state where the military is hand-in-glove with terrorist groups," the government said. "India has already made it clear that it will not give in to nuclear blackmail and will continue to take all necessary steps to safeguard its national security," the Ministry of External Affairs said.
