Stripe businesses can now accept Pix in Brazil

Thanks to the partnership with Latin American platform Ebanx, businesses on Stripe can now offer Pix, the wildly popular instant payment method developed by the Central Bank of Brazil. Firms can process Pix payments from Brazilian customers in Brazilian Reais, with settlements available in the merchant's domestic currency.
Krishnan Rajagopalan, global head, expansion, strategics and incubation partnerships, Stripe, says: 'Our partnership with Ebanx is important for increasing Stripe users' reach in Brazil, Latin America's largest market. For global commerce today, enabling how customers pay is often just as important as what's being sold."
João Del Valle, CEO, Ebanx, adds: 'Working with Stripe to offer Pix is a no-brainer. There are 60 million people in Brazil who lack a credit card. Meanwhile, 93% of Brazilian adults use Pix and, by the end of this year, its usage is projected to surpass credit cards in online purchases".

The England international helped Palace beat Liverpool to win the Community Shield on Sunday, after which Parish was asked about Eze's future. "Yeah listen, of course but players come and go in football clubs you know," the Palace chief admitted. "I mean it's a life cycle isn't it you know. Hopefully they're still here, that's what I'd like but we'll see." Hein attracting more interest La Liga newcomers Levante have become the latest club to register their interest in signing Karl Hein. The 23-year-old goalkeeper has entered the final year of his contract with Arsenal and is firmly behind David Raya, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Tommy Setford in Arteta's the pecking order. Kuwait launches visa-on-arrival for expats in GCC countries
Fancy a holiday in the region? Well, you're in luck. Kuwait has just changed up its visa rules for all GCC residents, including those living in Dubai, making it easier to visit one of the region's top destinations. Effective immediately, all foreign nationals living in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman can now obtain a visa-on-arrival at entry points in Kuwait. The decision was published in the official gazette Kuwait Al-Youm on Sunday August 10 and applies to all residents living in Gulf Cooperation Council states. Kuwait City (Credit: Supplied) The move means that around 25 million foreign nationals living in the region can now enjoy the benefit of a Kuwaiti visa-on-arrival for a 90-day stay. As a result, Kuwait's Ministry of the Interior has now abolished previous visa rules, which only granted visas on arrival to GCC residents from certain categories of profession – such as doctors, engineers, judges and executives. Previously, nationals of countries in most European and North American, some Latin American countries plus the likes of China, Japan, South Korea and Singapore were eligible for the tourist visa-on-arrival. Kuwait offers tourists a wide range of modern attractions and rich cultural heritage, with the likes of Kuwait Towers and the Grand Mosque of Kuwait being must-visit attractions, before heading to the traditional souks. The visa change comes ahead of the rollout of a wider GCC Unified Travel visa, which is set to be introduced on a trial basis later in 2025. While full details of the unified visa have not been finalised, it will loosen travel rules all across the region for all residents and encourage tourism between GCC member states. Work is also gathering pace on a regional railway project, which will allow travellers more options across the region. The railway project is scheduled to be completed by 2030.
