Gold price prediction: What's the gold rate outlook for July 14, 2025 week - should you buy or sell?
Gold price prediction: Focus this week will be on inflation data from major economies and US PPI, retail sales and industrial production. (AI image) Gold price prediction today: US President Donald Trump's tariff and trade policies will continue to add uncertainty to the global economic environment, implying that gold as a safe haven asset will continue to be in focus. Manav Modi, Senior Analyst, Commodity Research at Motilal Oswal Financial services Ltd shares his outlook on gold prices and strategy for gold investors: Last week, silver reached an all-time high domestically and hovered near $40 on COMEX, while gold touched a three-week high driven by safe-haven demand amid escalating trade tensions. US President Donald Trump announced plans to impose 30% tariffs on imports from the European Union and Mexico starting August 1, sparking strong opposition and prompting the EU to extend its suspension of countermeasures while seeking negotiated solutions. Trump also sent tariff notices to 14 countries, including Japan and South Korea, with higher duties set to begin in August, alongside new 50% tariffs on US copper imports and goods from Brazil. These moves stirred volatility in precious metals, with prices dipping as hopes for trade agreements grew. The US dollar index steadied near a two-week high, and Treasury yields hovered close to three-week peaks amid inflation concerns linked to tariffs. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Lợi ích khi giao dịch CFD Bitcoin IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo Fed officials sent mixed signals over rate cut this year, with some favouring 50 bps cut by Dec '25 while others preferred to wait for tariff impact on inflation. Telangana RTA to set up ANPR cameras to streamline interstate vehicle checks
Crossing state borders in Telangana is set to become hassle-free, as the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has decided to streamline interstate travel by installing Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at 17 check posts across the state. The department will install 34 cameras approximately 500 metres to 1 km ahead of each check post to capture vehicle documentation , including tax payments, pollution certificates, fitness certificates, permits, and other essential paperwork. This information will then be relayed to Motor Vehicle Inspectors (MVI). The system will ensure that only vehicles lacking proper documentation are stopped at the check posts, while compliant vehicles may continue without delays at border crossings. The RTA's comprehensive plan includes the installation of 60 cameras in total, with 26 units to be placed near toll plazas and other strategic points. Lakhs of vehicles pass through check posts daily at locations such as Nagarjuna Sagar, Kodada, Alampur, Vishnupuram, Palvancha, and Zaheerabad. The current manual verification system is inefficient and causes traffic congestion as transport authorities inspect documentation. To resolve these issues, the Transport Department is implementing electronic enforcement systems. The ANPR cameras capture number plates and assess compliance with traffic regulations. Officials can access this data via specialised software. MVIs at the check posts receive details of vehicle numbers and any violations on their tablets, enabling them to stop only non-compliant vehicles, whilst allowing compliant motorists to continue their journey uninterrupted. According to RTA officials, IIIT Hyderabad has expressed interest in implementing the system. Authorities are currently assessing several prestigious institutions to entrust with this responsibility. "A proposal to install 60 ANPR cameras has been submitted to the state govt. The estimated cost of the initiative is 3.5 crore. This automated system will streamline vehicle inspections for officials by eliminating the need for manual checks. Moreover, motorists with complete documentation will be able to pass through check posts without delays," said M Chandrasekhar Goud, Joint Transport Commissioner (Vigilance & Enforcement). A few months ago, the RTA implemented an advanced surveillance system featuring AI-enabled CCTV cameras at its headquarters in Khairatabad, aimed at deterring unauthorised intermediaries operating within RTA premises. The RTA now plans to expand this surveillance system to all regional transport offices across the state. The system assigns unique identification codes to individuals detected by the cameras and records the frequency of their visits to RTA offices. This tracking mechanism assists authorities in identifying frequent visitors, particularly agents and brokers, by monitoring recurring identification codes. Negatives mostly priced in for tier 1 IT companies; correction likely in midcaps: Sunny Agrawal
Sunny Agrawal , Head of Fundamental Equity Research, SBI Cap Securities , says The IT sector faces a weak demand environment as clients seek productivity gains through Gen-AI while expecting cost benefits. While tier I IT company negatives are priced in, midcap IT firms face potential correction due to expensive valuations. KPIT Tech is expected to deliver muted growth commentary for FY26 amid global automobile industry uncertainties. What is your take on the IT pack? The market has digested TCS earnings and given that the company is not that bullish on the growth outlook and are anticipating some pressure on discretionary spending, we have already seen very tepid moves coming in the other IT majors as well. But within the lot, KPIT Tech is holding on to the gains of 2% right now. How do you analyse the overall IT space and any stock that you would like to bet on in this correction? Sunny Agrawal: The way the commentary of TCS and Tata Elxsi has played out, it clearly seems there is a lot of uncertainty in terms of demand environment and at the same time, clients want to increase productivity using various Gen-AI tools and at the same time they want the benefit to be passed on to him or her. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Play War Thunder now for free War Thunder Play Now Undo So, overall, a pretty weak demand environment as far as the IT sector is concerned. Coming to a stock specific action or price action, most of the negatives are already in the price at least for tier I IT companies – be it TCS, Infosys or HCL Tech . The issue is with the midcap IT companies. The valuations are very expensive there compared to their largecap peers. In case the demand environment or the commentary is on weaker front from midcap companies, we see a sharp correction in the midcap IT pack. Moving on to the KPIT, the company during the mid-quarter update has already alerted the street that the deal execution is not playing out as per expectation and the deal wins are likely to slow down. Thus the negative news is already priced in for KPIT Tech and any positive development on the automobile side can act as a positive. We expect KPIT to deliver a very muted set of commentary as far as growth for FY26 is concerned. So, let us wait and see what is the commentary of management on KPIT.
