Julian McMahon's exact cause of death revealed

7NEWS10-07-2025
Julian McMahon's cause of death has been confirmed.
The Nip/Tuck actor passed away last week aged 56 after a battle with cancer and documents obtained by People have revealed that he died from lung metastasis as a result of head and neck metastatic cancer.
A Cremation Approval Summary Report from Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office in Florida ruled the manner of McMahon's death as natural and his remains have since been cremated.
McMahon's wife Kelly Paniagua shared the tragic news that the Australian star had passed away last week.
She said in a statement: 'With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.
'Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.
'We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.'
A post was shared on McMahon'sInstagram page earlier this week thanking the Charmed star's fans for the love and support they have shown since his passing.
The post featured Van Morrison's track Sometimes We Cry, which is thought to have been one of McMahon's favourite songs.
A black and white image of the star was captioned: 'Julian loved @vanmorrisonofficial... For all those who loved Julian, thank you.'
Tributes poured in for Julian across the industry following his death and his former Charmed co-star Alyssa Milano said she felt 'heartbroken' after hearing the news.
The 52-year-old star wrote on Instagram: 'I'm heartbroken.
'Julian McMahon was magic. That smile. That laugh. That talent. That presence. He walked into a room and lit it up - not just with charisma, but with kindness. With mischief. With soulful understanding.
'We spent years together on Charmed - years of scenes, stories, and so many in-between moments. He made me feel safe as an actor. Seen as a woman. He challenged me, teased me, supported me. We were so different, and yet somehow we always understood each other.'
Alyssa remembered Julian - who leaves behind daughter Madison, 25, from his relationship with ex-wife Brooke Burns - as a 'dear friend' and offered her condolences to his loved ones.
The post continued: 'Julian was more than my TV husband. He was a dear friend. The kind who checks in. The kind who remembers. The kind who shares. The kind who tells you the truth, even when it's uncomfortable - but always with love.
'My heart is with Kelly, with Madison, and with Iliana - his girls, his world. He adored them. You could feel it in every conversation, every story, every text. He was a family man above all, and he loved deeply.
'Losing him feels unreal. Too soon. Too unfair.'

Prawns, Pimms and Pedigree: Tessa Daly returns to hometown of Carnarvon for food, fashion and race day fun

She's the daughter of Carnarvon's most decorated trainer, a rising racing media talent, and now, a proud hometown host for one of the region's most delicious new events. Tessa Daly — the daughter of Carnarvon horse trainer Peter Daly — is set to return to her roots on August 1 for the Massey Bay Prawns and Pimms Race Day, the grand finale of Carnarvon's Gascoyne Food Festival leg. 'I grew up following (dad) around the countryside, going to lots of different racecourses all around WA,' she said. 'I guess it's in your blood when you grow up with it.' Despite dabbling in WAFL operations and dreaming of a career in sports media, Daly said the pull of the racing world was far too strong to ignore. 'I was getting up at 3.30am to work with horses, get that job done by 8am and then rushing to East Fremantle Football Club and back to the stables,' she said. 'It was ridiculously long days and I thought – 'I'm 26 - I either need to try and chase these media dreams while I'm still somewhat young and don't leave it too late'.' Now part of Racing WA's TV broadcast team as mounting yard analyst, Daly's focus is on blending her background with her passion – and that's exactly what Prawns and Pimms is all about. 'It's about bringing people from all walks of life into racing,' she said. 'Sea Harvest have donated prawns for the day, and Pimms goes hand in hand with the races — prawns, Pimms and a bit of a punt and a bit of fun as well.' Held on the day that all Australian horses celebrate a birthday, the afternoon will feature local food, drinks, music, and a laid-back trackside atmosphere – all part of a bigger plan to showcase Carnarvon's produce. 'Racing in Carnarvon falls at the perfect time of the year. The weather's great and the produce is even better,' Daly said. 'Doesn't matter if you're involved in racing or if you like racing or not — it's an opportunity to dress up, have a drink and enjoy fresh seafood.' The event is supported by Sea Harvest, Racing and Wagering WA, and the Gascoyne Food Council, and forms one part of the month-long Gascoyne Food Festival trail. Jennifer Lopez admits 'some' celebrity brands aren't 'worth the hype'

Jennifer Lopez has admitted "some" celebrity brands aren't "worth the hype". The 55-year-old star has been busy answering some fan questions about her JLo Beauty brand, and acknowledged that some people are justifiably sceptical about famous faces lending their names to products. In an Instagram video, she addressed a question from a fan who said: "I tend to think celebrity skincare is not worth the hype." She replied: "Some of it isn't. It's luxury skincare that is clinically tested and trust me, I don't cut corners." The Jenny From The Block hitmaker was also asked about how some producers are "too expensive", but she insisted it's worth the investment if you can afford it. She said: "Listen, I get it. "Your skin is something that you have to show up with every single day. So, if there is a little bit of splurge in you, I would say do it on skincare, without a doubt. Other fans heaped praise on the brand, noting her moistueriser "feels like silk". J-Lo explained: "We want it to be like cashmere for your face, but make it clinically tested." And when another user insisted JLo Beauty "actually works", she replied: "Yeah, that was the point. You thought, what? I came to play? No." The singer and actress also shrugged off the idea she only uses her producers "just when the cameras are off", and revealed she was actually filming the video in her own bathroom. She laughed: "That's funny because I'm standing in my actual bathroom right now. No, I use it. I use it every day." JLo Beauty launched in 2021, initially with eight products although others have been introducted over the years. She previously told PEOPLE (The Show!): "Everywhere I went, I felt like everybody was always asking me about my skin. And as I got more mature, the questions came more often. "It was actually very nice, but I realised that it was almost like an obligation. Like I had to put out a skincare line for everybody who was asking."

I Know What You Did Last Summer director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson teases possible sequel

I Know What You Did Last Summer director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson has "a plan of what could be next". The 37-year-old filmmaker helmed the 2025 slasher, and has now revealed she has already started to think about a sequel – though refused to give any details about the possible follow-up. She told Screen Rant: "I do have a plan in mind of what could be next. I cannot tell you." Even so, the director teased she'd like Brandy Norwood's Karla – who appeared in the 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer as Julie James' (Jennifer Love Hewitt) roommate – to have a part in a potential follow-up after she cameoed in the mid-credits scene of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Robinson said: "I wanted Brandy in this film. And again, a lot of the cameos, a lot of the choices made—they just had to be the right thing. Not just for the character and for the franchise, but for this version of the movie and the story that we were telling. "So for me, to catch up with Brandy where we find her in the film, and to know that Julie James is a character who has shut everybody out—she left Southport, she abandoned Ray, she doesn't really have any friends, she lives by herself—that person wouldn't necessarily have kept up with anyone. "So bringing them back together was really fun, and I loved being able to do that." I Know What You Did Last Summer sees the return of Jennifer Love Hewitt's Julie James and Freddie Prinze Jr.'s Ray Bronson as they try to help a group of teens escape the clutches of a masked killer following a hit-and-run cover-up. The horror flick also saw the surprise cameo appearance of Sarah Michelle Gellar's ill-fated Helen Shivers – who met a grizzly end in the original 1997 I Know What You Did Last Summer. Reflecting on his wife's shock return, Prinze Jr. said he was "glad" he was able to keep quiet about Gellar's secret comeback. Freddie told PEOPLE he "knew from jump" that Sarah would be in the new movie, adding: "We were all really excited for audiences to get to see that and get a little bit of extra love that they weren't expecting. "It's nice to know a secret, and to know how well-received it's going to be, months and months before it ever goes out there. "To hear the reaction that people have had, because I know some other people that have seen it, they're all like: 'Oh, my God, you didn't tell me! That was the best.' "I'm like, 'Yeah, it was the best one. Everybody always loves her.' To give people another taste of that, I just think was awesome. I'm glad everyone made it happen."
