Collins selects Sunderland top five
In fifth place, Collins has opted for current player Dan Ballard, who was the goalscoring hero in last season's dramatic play-off win over Coventry.

"You see what he brings to the team," said Collins.
"Big call to bring him back in against Coventry and he was outstanding, best player on the pitch for the two games, and again outstanding at Wembley in the final. Old school, rugged centre-back. I like watching him out there."
Since joining Sunderland from Arsenal in July 2022, the 25-year-old has made 89 appearances, and fought back from a hamstring injury late in the season to play a key role in the successful play-off campaign.
Jonny Evans, who had two loan spells at the Stadium of Light from Manchester United between 2006 and 2008. was selected in fourth place.

"I had the pleasure of playing aside him and even at that age, the composure of the young lad coming in was impressive," Collins said on Evans.
"Then he came back in the season after we got promoted and progressed. The club were looking to buy him but United could see he was a player and kept him and he won numerous trophies and won 107 caps for Northern Ireland.
"Fantastic player - 37 now and still about it."

Alan Shearer has urged Alexander Isak to sack his agent over his botched Newcastle United exit plan. The striker is desperate to move to Liverpool before the transfer window closes on September 1, but it now appears highly unlikely that the transfer will materialize, leaving Isak facing the prospect of either returning for the Magpies with his tail between his legs or sitting out until January at the earliest. "I'd also ask the question, who's advising him? He signed his six‑year contract without a release clause in it. That is his doing, that is his agent's doing. Italian soccer coaches call for Israel to be suspended by UEFA and FIFA over Gaza war
FLORENCE, Italy (AP) — The Italian Soccer Coaches' Association is pushing for Israel to be suspended from international competition over the war in Gaza. Ahead of Italy's crucial World Cup qualifiers against Israel in the next two months, the AIAC says 'Israel must stop. Soccer must also take action.' The AIAC has written a formal letter to the Italian soccer federation, to be forwarded to European and world soccer's governing bodies, calling for Israel to be suspended. 'The AIAC Board of Directors unanimously believes that, given the daily massacres, which have also resulted in hundreds of deaths among managers, coaches, and athletes … it is legitimate, necessary, indeed a duty, to place at the center of federation talks the request, to be submitted to UEFA and FIFA, for the temporary exclusion of Israel from sporting competitions,' the letter concludes. 'Because the pain of the past cannot cloud anyone's conscience and humanity.' Italy is set to play Israel on neutral turf in Debrecen, Hungary on Sept. 8, before hosting the return match in Udine on Oct. 14. 'We could just focus on playing, looking the other way. But we believe that is not right,' AIAC vice president Giancarlo Camolese said. The Azzurri also played Israel in Udine last October in a Nations League match that saw protests before and during the game and intense security measures, including snipers on the roof of the stadium. Since then the situation has continued to deteriorate with the Palestinian death toll from the 22-month war passing 62,000 earlier this month. 'The world is in flames.
