Apple Sports App Gets Tennis and More Updates
Apple continues to expand its sports offerings for mobile users. On Wednesday, the company announced new updates to the Apple Sports app that include a revamped home screen and the addition of tennis ahead of the Wimbledon championships. All the changes were launched on the app today. This tennis season, you can check out live scores (or from past tournament rounds) for men's and women's matches. Apple Sports will allow you to track points and player advancement throughout events like Grand Slam or Wimbledon. Though the app doesn't currently offer the ability to follow individual players, tournament information can be showcased on the home display if you add and customize the tennis options. Sports fans will notice that the home screen is now organized by whichever leagues you keep up with. For example, if you follow MLB, you'll see a more personalized display for your favorite teams, with game stats for yesterday, today, and information for any upcoming events. If you're following multiple sports and leagues, -- including tennis -- you can re-order which ones show up first on your screen and the app will adapt to your preferences. The revamped home screen display in the Apple Sports app for 2025. Apple The free app, which is available for iPhone in the US, UK and Canada only, initially launched in February 2024. It offers features such as shareable game cards and real-time stats and game updates for NFL, MLS, NHL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, college sports and international soccer leagues. Its Live Activities function serves up scores and gameplay on your iPhone's lock screen or Apple Watch, and is conveniently connected to Dynamic Island.

Yankees Have '0% Chance' to Win Trade Sweepstakes for $120 Million Superstar, Insider Says
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. The Yankees need an upgrade in the infield. They can target second or third basemen and deploy Jazz Chisholm at the other position. DJ LeMahieu has been subpar defensively, and he has a .245/.321/.337 slash line. There should be some quality options available to the Yankees at the July 31 trade deadline. However, they can scratch one name off the list. MLB insider Bob Nightengale revealed the Yankees realize they have a "0% chance" of getting Alex Bregman from the Boston Red Sox. "The American League is wide open, and the Yankees are poised to take full advantage of the opportunity," wrote Nightengale for USA Today. "They badly need a third baseman or a second baseman, and realize there's 0% chance that the Red Sox answering their prayers by trading them Alex Bregman." BRONX, NEW YORK - DECEMBER 21: New York Yankee general manager Brian Cashman speaks to the media during a press conference at Yankee Stadium on December 21, 2022 in Bronx, New York. BRONX, NEW YORK - DECEMBER 21: New York Yankee general manager Brian Cashman speaks to the media during a press conference at Yankee Stadium on December 21, 2022 in Bronx, New Red Sox are still hanging around in the postseason race. They are 2 1/2 games out of a wild card spot. However, there is a chance they fall too far back in the standings by the July 31 deadline and become sellers. After trading Devers, the Red Sox may be interested in moving forward with their young core of Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer, Kristian Campbell, Wilyer Abreu and Ceddanne Rafaela as the pillars of their team. They could get a haul out of Devers at the trade deadline if they decide they want to embrace the youth movement and prepare for next season. If Bregman were made available, many teams would be picking up the phones to try to get him. Bregman signed a three-year, $120 million deal in the offseason with an opt-out after this season. Bregman was slashing .299/.385/.553 before his injury, and it's safe to assume he would opt out to find a better deal. The Red Sox need to surround Garrett Crochet with more help in the rotation, and trading Bregman could help them do that for next season. However, that help will not be coming from the Yankees. The Yankees will need to pivot to other seemingly available options like Ke'Bryan Hayes, Ryan McMahon or Eugenio Suárez. More MLB: Nationals Executive Responds To Manager Dave Martinez's Comments
