BBC's The Hit List makes history with largest jackpot giveaway in six years
In a groundbreaking move, The Hit List is set to award an eye-watering £10,000 jackpot to one lucky duo on the show for the first time in its six-year history.
The BBC One smash-hit music quiz, helmed by Marvin and Rochelle Humes, will see the winning pair walk away with the biggest prize pot ever in the final round.
Contestants face the music as they race against the clock to name ten live-played tracks and their artists, with just five seconds to spare before deductions kick in.
Although the pressure is on, there's no risk of losing cash if they're too slow. Tune in for this record-breaking moment on Saturday's episode at 5.45pm.
The show's success has spawned several celebrity editions, with stars competing for hefty sums for charity, reports Wales Online.
A host of celebrities have taken to the stage, hoping to win big for good causes, including Steps' Ian "H" Watkins and Faye Tozer, and comedian Chris McCausland, who would later twirl onto Strictly.
Celeb contestants such as dancer Oti Mabuse, ex-Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, and Inbetweeners actor James Buckley have all tried their luck on the show.
Since its 2019 debut, The Hit List has been the first joint TV project for Marvin and Rochelle as a presenting duo. They previously divulged to the i newspaper the secrets behind mastering the game's challenges.
Rochelle has shared her top tip for contestants: "I always say to them before the round starts, 'don't look at the money trickling down, look at me, I want you to win."
She acknowledges the pressure they face: "We've had people that just don't know the answer at. Indeed, the nerves can completely take over. It's easier said than done, though."
In a candid chat with Hello, Rochelle opened up about working alongside her husband: "You are working with your husband at the end of the day, you are working with your wife."
She admits their personal life spills into work: "It's great that we know each other so well but we'll say, 'Did you forget to put the bins out?' We don't leave it at home so if there are any of those little debacles, they're definitely very much with us."
Yet, she feels fortunate: "But we know we're lucky. To be honest, we're just grateful and try and see it as a little time away in Glasgow. We go to all of the nice places there!".
Marvin emphasises the importance of communication, especially with three kids: "We have to communicate constantly with three kids. We're just so in tune that actually it's a thing that we can do so well together. We are busy, we're taping three episodes a day."
He reflects on their hectic schedule: "There's a lot to sort of turn around in that time, and I think it's a good job we do know each other so well. It's probably difficult if you didn't know someone as well as we do because we're in such a rhythm. Everything rolls along nicely."

Mr Hayward said: 'Having won a clutch of dance titles during her career and a place in our hearts, mostly, down to her appearances on the hugely popular 'Strictly', I am sure that Oti's Freedom will be welcomed warmly by her many admirers. 'Away from the dance world, her work with Unicef to raise awareness of the support needed by premature babies and their mothers, is highly commendable, and I am very happy to join my colleague, Keith Bottomley, in nominating Oti for the Freedom.' BBC Antiques Road Trip shares huge announcement after 15 years on air
The much-loved daytime show has been given a huge announcement, as it celebrates being on air for 15 years In its milestone 15th year broadcasting, Antiques Road Trip has secured another commission from BBC Daytime for a 32nd series on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Viewers of the beloved afternoon programme can look forward to 20 fresh episodes, featuring two rival antiques specialists battling it out weekly to discover the most lucrative collectables. Adding to the excitement, the production company has also received the green light for a fifth series of The Travelling Auctioneers, which has proven popular since its 2022 debut. A description states: "The show sees auctioneering experts join forces with masters of restoration to uncover neglected treasures in family homes which, with some TLC, can be turned into winning lots at auction." For the fifth series, specialists Izzie Balmer, JB Broad and Bee Harford return, alongside restoration professionals JJ Chalmers, Robin Johnson, Lauren Wood and Saf Fakir, reports Edinburgh Live. Specialist Izzie will also feature in the upcoming Antiques Road Trip series, going toe-to-toe with Mark Hill throughout a week's worth of episodes. Speaking about her dual role, Izzie remarked: "The Antiques Road Trip and Travelling Auctioneers teams have become like family to me. In fact, I sometimes see them more than my actual family.. The BBC's cherished reality contest returned to screens on Tuesday (July 22) evening with Sara Pascoe once again taking the helm as presenter. During the second week, amateur stitchers pulled out all the stops with a series of tasks, hoping to wow judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young with their creations. Initially, the sewers tackled a technical Pattern Challenge, crafting a seven-panel cap. In the Transformation Challenge, they breathed fresh life into discarded cycling kit, transforming it into chic new pieces, reports Wales Online. Finally, for the Made to Measure round, the sewers designed an athleisure ensemble – something functional for the gym yet trendy enough for a café. The stakes were particularly high during both challenges, as two participants would be departing the programme after the judges opted against eliminating anyone the previous week due to Glendora being compelled to withdraw from the challenge owing to illness. Despite giving their utmost throughout the challenge, Saffie and Peter found themselves heading home. Breaking the news, Sara began by declaring: "Now for the difficult bit. You're all so talented, this was a really difficult decision but the two sewers leaving us this week are Saffie and Peter." The announcement clearly caught everyone off guard as they turned towards the duo and gasped, with one participant audibly remarking: "I'm so surprised". Peter, 45, confessed to the camera: "I kind of half expected to hear my name called. They were totally justified in what they said and I've learnt from them." The senior pre-construction manager added: "This is a big learning experience for me." Meanwhile, a tearful Saffie admitted: "I kind of had a feeling I was going to go because I just hadn't kept most of the challenges within time." Justifying their decision, Esme stated: "Peter, he was reflecting who he was, but it wasn't well sewn." Patrick chimed in: "Saffie, I'm disappointed because I would really like to see more from Saffie but her execution let her down." Meanwhile, Orla emerged as the top sewer after impressing the judges in both challenges. Speaking to the camera, an astonished Orla revealed: "I truly didn't expect to win it for sports, so I'm really happy. I mean, I couldn't have asked for anything better, really." Patrick added: "Orla was a very deserving winner of Garment of the Week, she absolutely nailed that athleisure brief." The Great British Sewing Bee airs on Tuesdays at 9pm on BBC One.
