BBC's The Hit List makes history with largest jackpot giveaway in six years
Many contestants have tried and failed to win the quiz however for the first time in six years one pair are set to walk away with the jackpot In a groundbreaking move, The Hit List is set to award an eye-watering £10,000 jackpot to one lucky duo on the show for the first time in its six-year history. The BBC One smash-hit music quiz, helmed by Marvin and Rochelle Humes, will see the winning pair walk away with the biggest prize pot ever in the final round. Contestants face the music as they race against the clock to name ten live-played tracks and their artists, with just five seconds to spare before deductions kick in. Although the pressure is on, there's no risk of losing cash if they're too slow. Tune in for this record-breaking moment on Saturday's episode at 5.45pm. The show's success has spawned several celebrity editions, with stars competing for hefty sums for charity, reports Wales Online. A host of celebrities have taken to the stage, hoping to win big for good causes, including Steps' Ian "H" Watkins and Faye Tozer, and comedian Chris McCausland, who would later twirl onto Strictly. Celeb contestants such as dancer Oti Mabuse, ex-Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, and Inbetweeners actor James Buckley have all tried their luck on the show. Since its 2019 debut, The Hit List has been the first joint TV project for Marvin and Rochelle as a presenting duo. They previously divulged to the i newspaper the secrets behind mastering the game's challenges. Rochelle has shared her top tip for contestants: "I always say to them before the round starts, 'don't look at the money trickling down, look at me, I want you to win." She acknowledges the pressure they face: "We've had people that just don't know the answer at. Indeed, the nerves can completely take over. It's easier said than done, though." In a candid chat with Hello, Rochelle opened up about working alongside her husband: "You are working with your husband at the end of the day, you are working with your wife." She admits their personal life spills into work: "It's great that we know each other so well but we'll say, 'Did you forget to put the bins out?' We don't leave it at home so if there are any of those little debacles, they're definitely very much with us." Yet, she feels fortunate: "But we know we're lucky. To be honest, we're just grateful and try and see it as a little time away in Glasgow. We go to all of the nice places there!". Marvin emphasises the importance of communication, especially with three kids: "We have to communicate constantly with three kids. We're just so in tune that actually it's a thing that we can do so well together. We are busy, we're taping three episodes a day." He reflects on their hectic schedule: "There's a lot to sort of turn around in that time, and I think it's a good job we do know each other so well. It's probably difficult if you didn't know someone as well as we do because we're in such a rhythm. Everything rolls along nicely."

Helen Flanagan intimidated by abusive man during 'awful' experience on Tube
Actress Helen Flanagan has shared a distressing encounter she had on the Tube, where she was subjected to a foul-mouthed rant by a man. The ex-Coronation Street actress was left shocked when he cruelly accused her of having too much Botox after she confronted him for harassing another woman on the underground. In a video posted on social media, Helen recounted the incident: "I was on the Tube and there was this man sat across from me, and there was this girl about my age, sat across, and I noticed that the man took a picture of this woman on the Tube." "Anyway, I probably - it's a bit embarrassing for me to say this. I should have said something but I actually felt a bit intimidated by the man, so I just thought, I felt like I couldn't say anything. Anyway the woman next to me was braver than me and she just said, 'Excuse me, did you take a picture of that woman? I just saw you take a picture of that woman.'" "And like, he just ignored her and pretended that he couldn't hear her. And then, eventually he was really aggressive, and like, told her to 'eff off' and 'shut the eff up', and oh my God it was awful." Helen then courageously intervened to defend the woman – but this led to her being verbally abused by the stranger herself. She continued: "So then obviously, like I'm a real like girls' girl and I just said, 'Don't effing speak to her like that. I saw you, you did take a picture of her. You're lying'." She continued: "He was really awful and I actually felt really intimidated, and I felt like I couldn't say much to him because I did feel really intimidated by him." "He said to me, it was like the weirdest thing he could have said, 'You've got so much Botox in your forehead', and I was sat there with an iced coffee, and he was like, 'I'm surprised you can even drink through a straw.'" The soap star laughed as she added: "To be fair, I am dead soft. I don't get in arguments with people. I was only sticking up for this girl because of course, I would always stick up for other women. "I didn't know what to say, this sounds tight but, like, he deserves it – he wasn't the most attractive of men. I couldn't say anything to him, so I said, 'I feel sorry for you'. It's not nice as a woman where you actually feel intimidated he was just an absolute idiot." The devoted mother of three then recounted a past incident that made her feel uneasy while using public transport. Shortly after the birth of her son Charlie, she felt as though a man was filming her while she breastfed on a train. Helen revealed that there were no witnesses to the incident, which prompted her to speak up about what she observed on the Tube this week. This follows Helen's recent social media outburst about losing her driving licence and various parenting challenges, five months after being disqualified for speeding. The former Coronation Street actress, who in January told the court that her ex-footballer boyfriend Robbie Talbot was behind the wheel of her £66,000 Audi Q7 when it was caught speeding twice, lamented the inconvenience of not having a car and being unable to run errands or shop for necessities due to her remote location. Despite arguing that she was financially struggling and couldn't afford taxis to take her children to school, Helen was banned from driving for six months. On her Instagram Stories, she explained that her ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) had led her to confuse paperwork needed to reapply for her licence, resulting in further delays. "I literally can't tell you what a pain in the a*** not having [my driving licence] because I live in the middle of nowhere, and of course I haven't been driving". She continued, "It's just been so b****y annoying, for example we are out of loo roll now and I can't pop out to the shops to get loo roll so my friend has to bring me loo roll". She also disclosed that she and her former partner Scott Sinclair, with whom she co-parents Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three, have resumed 'co-parenting in the same house' despite their acrimonious separation.

ITV Coronation Street star Colson Smith reunites with soap co-star after emotional exit
Colson Smith's character Craig Tinker was killed off in Coronation Street, leaving fans of the soap heartbroken earlier this year. Former Corrie star Colson Smith had a sweet reunion with his on-screen partner following his departure from the popular soap. Colson, who portrayed Craig Tinker, had been a part of the show since 2011. However, his time on the programme came to a close recently when his character met a tragic end while on duty as a police officer. It was no surprise that Colson, 26, would be leaving Coronation Street, after announcing the news back in January. At the time, he shared a photo of himself in his character's police uniform, standing on the iconic cobbles, and expressed: "Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinker's time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025." Reflecting on his 14-year tenure on the show, Colson mentioned that he had thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. He felt extremely fortunate to have grown up amid the ITV soap environment, crediting the people involved with the show for teaching him valuable life lessons. He also expressed his excitement about portraying Craig's exit storyline. The actor added: "For me, this is just the end of the beginning. I genuinely can't wait to see what chapter 2 has in store for me. LONG LIVE THE COBBLES!". After Colson finished filming his final scenes for Coronation Street earlier this year in March, his character's tragic demise at the hands of newcomer Mick Michaelis unfolded in heartbreaking scenes last month. Craig had been a part of the Weatherfield community since 2011. On Sunday June 15, the beloved former soap star was spotted lending a helping hand at Soccer Aid for UNICEF as reported by the Manchester Evening News, hosted at Manchester United's iconic stadium Old Trafford. Colson Smith joined the roster of famous faces manning the 'appreciation station', fielding calls from generous individuals keen to donate. However it was one reunion that got everyone talking, as Colson's ex-Coronation Street pal and on-screen romantic interest Ellie Leach as Colson gleefully posed together with her for a selfie, marking a sweet reunion nearly two years post their on-screen split. Amid the glitzy charity football extravaganza broadcast live on television, Colson shared an Instagram snapshot as he busied himself with the hotline. His accompanying caption was cheerful: "Ey Up, it's Colson at Soccer Aid HQ here! How may I help you? ! ?". The actor's fans didn't take long to pour in their encouragement. One person expressed: "So proud of u! !" Meanwhile, another quipped, "Nice one col.."

More info Helen Flanagan, once a paragon of body confidence through numerous high-profile modelling stints post-Coronation Street, has acknowledged feeling some insecurities after motherhood. Previously dazzling fans with photo shoots for men's magazines at 34, Helen has admitted to losing that self-assuredness regarding her appearance. On Instagram, the ex-Coronation Street actress and partner to footballer Scott Sinclair, got real with followers about noticing "cellulite." She confided to fans that her weight fluctuates with the state of her love life and stress levels, reports the Mirror. Exhibiting her figure in new lingerie, she expressed contentment over being part of the brand's editing process. Emphasising self-acceptance, she advised fans: "Even though sometimes you don't feel so confident or toned, just got for it. Even though I've got cellulite and my body isn't as toned as it used to be, I just thought, 'you know what Helen go for it, you only live once.'". Transformed for a night out, Helen presented the finishing touch - a chic denim dress, looking every bit the star ready for the spotlight. In a candid post on Instagram, Helen confessed to feeling severely hungover, comparing herself to a "lizard." She shared: "I am really hungover, I am like a lizard. I am not drinking for a long time. I know I will feel better tomorrow. I have the school run tomorrow. Oh my god. I literally got in at six in the morning." Despite her fame from the ITV soap, Helen appears to be facing financial difficulties. The former soap star has had to lower the asking price of her six-bedroom, 5,000 square foot home from £1.5million to £1.195million. Reports suggest that Helen's financial struggles began after her 13-year relationship with Scott ended in 2022, leaving her with three children. Following a year-long romance, Helen also recently split with Robbie Talbot.
