Ancelotti likely to retain Real Madrid veteran over 26-year-old star in cup final vs Barcelona
As Real Madrid gear up for their upcoming Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, there has been much debate about the goalkeeping position.
Up until now, Andriy Lunin has been the regular for Real Madrid in between the sticks, showcasing stellar displays.

Given his role as a cup goalkeeper, it was given that the 26-year-old Ukrainian may start against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final.
Courtois to get the nod ahead of Lunin
According to SPORT, it appears Ancelotti is unlikely to play Lunin this weekend and has instead put his faith in Thibaut Courtois.
It's a scenario that feels eerily familiar to last season's Champions League final, where Lunin had been the main man in goal throughout the knockout rounds, only to be benched in the final upon Courtois' return from injury.
This time around, too, Lunin will have the settle for a place on the bench to make way for Courtois.

Lunin has started each of Real Madrid's five Copa del Rey matches this season. The Ukrainian has also featured in five La Liga games and two Champions League ties, offering solid performances whenever called upon.

At the same time, though, one can hardly argue with Ancelotti's deciison either as Courtois has been a saviour for the club time and time again.
Given Real Madrid's poor track record against Barcelona this season, the onus will be on the Belgian to keep a valued cleaned.
Courtois was able to keep a clean sheet in Real Madrid's most recent win over Getafe, where he notably commended the team spirit after such a win.

Barcelona star spotted back in training ahead of Levante clash
A leading member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was on Sunday spotted back in training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick's squad. The player in question? Robert Lewandowski. Frontman Lewandowski was for his part forced to sit out on Saturday night, as Barcelona got the club's La Liga campaign up and running in a meeting with RCD Mallorca. As much came after the Pole picked up a muscular issue during the final week of the Blaugrana's pre-season preparations. The initial expectation was that Lewandowski would likely be ruled out for several weeks, potentially missing Barca's first three fixtures of the season as a result. After word was forthcoming earlier today that the former Bayern Munich man was ahead of schedule in his recovery, though, further positive news has since followed. As showcased below, Lewandowski managed to play his part in some of the group activities at the Ciutat Esportiva on Sunday morning. The hope, in turn, is that the veteran goalscorer will be cleared to play his part against Levante next weekend. Conor Laird – GSF

Manchester City Identify This Real Madrid Star As The Main Target: What Will He Bring To The Etihad?
In a recent post on X, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Manchester City have identified Real Madrid star Rodrygo as their main target for this transfer window. It is understood that Pep Guardiola's side will only move in for the Brazilian attacker if Savinho leaves this summer. Rodrygo's Impressive Form In La Liga Rodrygo enjoyed a productive season at the Madrid club recently as he was responsible for putting in a series of impressive displays for them on the right flank. The 24-year-old scored 14 goals and picked up 11 assists in 54 appearances for Los Blancos in the previous campaign across various competitions. The Brazilian talent gave a good account of himself in the final third based on his average of 2.52 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He kept 37% of his attempts on target. Rodrygo was excellent with his ball distribution in the opponent's half after completing 85.9% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via Rodrygo's current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will expire in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won't be easy for Man City to land him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window. (Photo by) What Will Rodrygo Bring To Manchester City? Rodrygo is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to engineer a few decent chances for his teammates on the offensive end of the field and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. The Brazilian talent mainly operates as a right-winger but can also function as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if asked to do so. However, it remains to be seen whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if Man City manage to get him on board this summer. We can expect Rodrygo to bring more quality and depth to Pep Guardiola's frontline. He is good enough to earn a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium this season. Rodrygo could even serve as an upgrade over Jeremy Doku, who has struggled to be consistent with his productivity in the final third. At 24, he has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him an excellent signing for Man City to pull off in this transfer window.
