Eric Dane tears up in emotional interview after heartbreaking diagnosis

Grey's Anatomy star Eric Dane has broken his silence after receiving a heartbreaking diagnosis. The Euphoria cast member, 52, was speaking in his first television interview appearance since revealing his ALS diagnosis in April. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is often referred to as one of the most cruel diseases a human can face as it is a progressive neurological disease that is almost always fatal. Speaking with Good Morning America's Diane Sawyer, Eric defiantly said 'I don't feel like this is the end of me'. 'I wake up every day and I'm immediately reminded that this is happening,' he said. 'I don't think this is the end of my story. I don't feel like this is the end of me.' In the interview teaser, Diane and Eric can be seen holding hands. Later, Dane also breaks down in tears in the emotional video. In April, Dane told People: 'I have been diagnosed with ALS. I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter. 'I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to the set of Euphoria next week,' he explained. 'I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.' ALS often begins with muscle twitching and weakness in an arm or leg, trouble swallowing or slurred speech, according to Mayo Clinic. It's estimated that MND affects around 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time, with six people receiving a diagnosis every day. There is a 1 in 300 risk of getting MND across a lifetime. Dane, 52, who shares two children Billie Beatrice, 15, and Georgia Geraldine, 13, with wife Rebecca Gayheart, is able to continue working at this stage, though the rare neurodegenerative disease has no cure. ALS – the most common form of motor neurone disease (MND) – affects parts of the nervous system that control voluntary muscle movement. More Trending Over time, function is gradually lost. Muscles become weak and eventually nonfunctional, leading to disability and eventually death. Those diagnosed with the nervous system disease usually have an average of three years to live. However, about 20% of people with ALS live five years, 10% survive 10 years and 5% live 20 years or longer, according to The ALS Association. John Mulaney furiously weighs in as wife Olivia Munn continues to face backlash for shunning Ms Rachel's show

What started as Olivia Munn sharing which children's shows she doesn't let her kids watch has now evolved into a social-media fueled 'feud' between the 44-year-old actress and YouTube star Ms. Rachel. And it seems as though Munn's husband John Mulaney has now joined in as well. In a recent interview with People, Munn - who is mom to two kids - explained her personal preferences when it comes to the kind of children's content she allows in her household. 'I know kids love [Ms. Rachel], but the thing is, if I can't watch it, I'm not going to spend the rest of my life going crazy,' she said. Munn, 44, also shared that she avoids cartoons, noting that when her son Malcolm asked for Blue's Clues, she responded, 'Hell no. Not in my house.' But her comments sparked fierce backlash with even Ms. Rachel, 42, furiously hitting back to express her disappointment at the coverage. Now, in an Instagram story posted on June 11, Mulaney, also 42, weighed in on the matter with backlash against his wife still raging on. Against a black backdrop, he wrote: 'An innocent comment my wife Olivia Munn made about what children's programs we like has somehow - unbelievably - been conflated with not caring about the deaths of children in Gaza.' But her comments sparked fierce backlash with even Ms. Rachel, 42, furiously hitting back to express her disappointment at the coverage 'Because of this, my wife and two kids are now receiving violent and threatening comments and messages in her DMs,' he continued. 'This is absolutely insane and needs to stop. The people doing this are so wildly out of line and so unhelpful to any conversation. 'You took a nothing comment to a dark and dangerous place. 'This kind of behavior isn't activism.' After publications started covering Munn's comments, Ms. Rachel, 42, commented and posted, 'I'd rather you cover my advocacy for kids in Gaza.' Since then, Ms. Rachel fans have criticized Munn, calling her 'selfish' for not dealing with children's shows her kids may want to watch just because she didn't personally like them. Others called her comments tone deaf as Ms. Rachel is one of the few public figures actively and publicly advocating for Palestinian children. In light of his comments, many have rushed to praise Mulaney for defending his wife and added that attacking Munn 'isn't activism.' In light of his comments, Mulaney received mixed reaction from fans 'I've said it before, but this kind of "activism" gets people nowhere and actually makes people not take it seriously,' one user shared. 'Mulaney is Mr. Stand On Business when it comes to Olivia like you're not gonna say s**t about his woman and expect to get away with it,' an X (formerly Twitter) user shared. But others jumped to criticize him, pointing out that this was the first time the comedian and actor even mentioned the dying children in Gaza. 'Finally mentioning Gaza after almost two years because someone was mean to my wife,' one user mocked. 'Most of the criticisms of Munn have centered around her coming off as a selfish parent, so it's odd that Mulaney's first ever mention of Gaza is to frame it in these terms,' another said.
