Tyler Higbee shares his thoughts on the Rams' TE room in 2025
The Los Angeles Rams have a crowded tight end room in 2025.
Not only is Tyler Higbee fully recovered from the 2023 ACL injury that sidelined him for most of the 2024 season, but the Rams also drafted Terrance Ferguson with the No. 46 overall pick. Backups Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen round out the positional group.
While Higbee is poised to be the team's Week 1 starter, the veteran recognized how much deeper the group is than in year's past.
'It's honestly one of the best I've been a part of, I think, since I've been here," Higbee said during an interview with the team website this week. "Just top to bottom, we've got a lot of depth. I think it might allow us to do some things, get some more 12 [personnel] on the field.'
He didn't directly address the elephant in the room, though, that Ferguson could supplant him at any point in the season.
Ferguson is 10 years younger than Higbee, doesn't have a serious injury history and is almost identical in size. The two could certainly add different layers to the offense (the 12 personnel grouping Higbee mentioned, for one), but Sean McVay will eventually want to incorporate Ferguson into the offense more and more. That could be phasing Higbee out sooner rather than later.

Spartans extend official offer to Pitt commit, 4-star RB prospect from Baltimore
Michigan State football has extended an official offer to a top 20 running back in the 2026 class. Damon Ferguson of Baltimore announced on Monday that he's received his official offer from the Spartans. Ferguson is verbally committed to Pitt, but was once strongly considering the Spartans before announcing his commitment to the Panthers in early June. August 1 was the first day for schools to extend official offers to prospects in the 2026 class. Ferguson is a four-star running back prospect, with a recruiting rating of 91.20 in 247Sports' composite system. He ranks as the No. 17 running back and No. 263 overall prospect in 247Sports' composite rankings for the 2026 class. Michigan State was previously prioritizing Ferguson but ultimately came up short in the recruiting battle with Pitt. This latest update of him receiving his official offer from the Spartans could suggest Michigan State is still pursuing him as a priority player, or it, of course, could simply be keeping the door open should he elect to reconsider his commitment to Pitt. Either way, this is a big-time player to keep an eye on as we lead up to signing day in December -- especially since Michigan State still has not landed a verbal commitment from a running back prospect in the 2026 class. Cowboys 2025 training camp: Dak Prescott looks regular-season ready
After dropping their preseason opener to the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday night, the Dallas Cowboys were back in action Tuesday afternoon, conducting their 14th training camp practice. With just two practices left before the team breaks camp on Thursday, these two days may be the best chance for players on the bubble of making the roster to prove why they should make the final 53. These final practices aren't just a chance for players on the outside looking in to make an impact, they are also a chance for Dallas' stars to start locking in and get regular-season ready. In Tuesday afternoon's practice, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott looked every bit ready for Dallas' matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles on September 4th, earning him today's Star of the Day. Prescott started off practice with an extremely impressive, cross-body completion to KaVontae Turpin. Prescott followed that up by dropping some dimes to his top wideouts, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, showing some impressive ability to manipulate the pocket and make on-target throws. It can't be overstated just how important Prescott's individual performance and overall health will be to this Cowboys team. If Dallas wants any shot at returning to the postseason this year, they'll need him to stay on the field and perform at the high level he is capable of. Even in a semi-new offense, Prescott has looked very comfortable to this point of training camp. If Dallas' signal-caller can carry this level of performance into the regular season, the Cowboys will be in a good spot to make a postseason return.

Sanity prevails for the Bills and James Cook
It needed to happen. And it finally did. The new contract negotiated between the Bills and running back James Cook is, on the surface, a win-win move for a team in the Super Bowl window. Cook got financial security, and the Bills have a guy who is happy with his situation and ready to fuel a championship run. As usual, there's plenty of deliberate smoke and fluff about the deal. As several league sources have observed, the claim that Cook's has received the most guaranteed money of any running back in five years is factually incorrect. Cook's guarantee is $30 million; Saquon Barkley's was $36 million. We'll eventually get the full Cook deal and break it down. The first question becomes how it compares to the contract recently signed by Rams running back Kyren Williams, who like Cook had completed three NFL seasons. Whatever the terms, Cook is under contract for four years. The drama has ended. Even if, as one source remarked, the running back market is going backward, again. Now, as the Bills get ready for Week 1, both player and team need to go forward while avoiding the temptation to overdo it until he's properly acclimated after his recent absence from practice.
