Rams TE Tyler Higbee ranked among the worst starters in the NFL
Rams TE Tyler Higbee ranked among the worst starters in the NFL Tight end was one of the Los Angeles Rams' smaller needs this offseason following a season where the trio of Tyler Higbee, Colby Parkinson and Davis Allen all finished with fewer than 70 receiving yards each. Granted, Higbee missed all but three games with an injury, but the point still stands that the Rams needed tight end help. L.A. tried to remedy that situation by drafting Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson with the No. 46 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after trading back from the No. 26 pick. But he likely won't begin the season as the starter, even though Higbee was ranked among the worst starting tight ends in the NFL by Pro Football Focus' John Kosko. Higbee came in at No. 26 on Kosko's list, right after Seattle Seahawks' tight end Noah Fant. "Higbee could be on his way out in a contract year after the Rams selected Oregon's Terrance Ferguson in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft," Kosko wrote. "He is coming off an injury-shortened 2024 season but has been productive when healthy. His 79.1 PFF receiving grade in 2024 shows he has good play left in the tank, but at 32 years old, his prime is behind him." Therein lies the crux of why Higbee isn't long for the Rams: He's older, injured and only slightly productive. His best season came in 2019 when he caught 69 receptions for 734 yards and three touchdowns, while Higbee's best season with quarterback Matthew Stafford came in 2022 when he caught 72 passes for 620 yards and three touchdowns. Ferguson is the heir apparent to the position and could even take control of the job early this season. For now, it's Higbee's show. The veteran will be crucial for Ferguson's development early on. The two could even see offensive packages together as Sean McVay looks to add some wrinkles for 2025. But at least the Rams have a plan for the position now.

Flags placed for Memorial Day ceremony in Henderson
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Veterans and families gathered at a Palm Mortuary in Henderson to honor fallen military personnel for Memorial Day weekend. Langston Higbee, the mortuary and cemetery general manager, is participating for the eighth consecutive year. 'We always take the extra steps to make sure they are honored,' Higbee said. 'We mark all the graves of the veterans in our cemetery. We have over 500 veterans who have been laid to rest here.' Marking their graves, the boys and girls of the Scouts. Their families say that planting a flag is a simple act that shows the scouts the deeper meaning of honoring those who dedicated their lives to serving their country. 'It's all community service and giving back and remembering our veterans and celebrating Memorial Day, doing a little bit of service instead of a barbecue,' Troop 360 scoutmaster Richard Prisbrey said. 'We enjoy coming out and supporting our community this way.' This Henderson ceremony is more than two decades into its running, this is the third year the scouts have joined in, and the memories continue to be special every time. 'Putting flags on your relatives, it's pretty special,' Prisbrey said. 'But seeing the veterans come out, seeing them get to enjoy the day. It's all good. I wouldn't miss this if I could, I would always be here.' After the ceremony, organizations gathered for a resource fair to inform veterans of the opportunities available to them. Additional ceremonies are planned for Memorial Day at Palm's eastern and downtown locations. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Broncos Trade Idea Lands Rams Tyler Higbee For Day 3 Pick
The Denver Broncos added Evan Engram in free agency and even a developmental tight end in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft. But there is still a need to find a good backup to Engram who can contribute immediately. This trade idea has the Broncos sending a 2026 sixth-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams for veteran tight end Tyler Higbee. The Rams' tight end is 32 years old and coming off an injured season, during which he missed the first 15 weeks of the year due to injury. In the Rams' playoff game in the snow, Higbee had seven receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown. Higbee played in just five games for the Rams in 2024 and was a solid contributor. He had 20 receptions for 178 yards and three touchdowns in five games, including the playoffs. Los Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (89) celebrates after scoring a touchdown in the first quarter against the Philadelphia Eagles in a 2025 NFC divisional round game at Lincoln Financial Streicher-Imagn Images In his nine-year NFL career, Higbee has 3,668 receiving yards, 24 touchdowns, and 361 receptions. Since 2017, the second year in the NFL for Higbee, He's started every game he's played in for the Rams. Higbee has 119 starts across 128 games, with each non-start coming in his rookie year. Advertisement The Rams would be open to trading Higbee since he's in the final year of his contract. If traded, Higbee would save the Rams over $4 million in cap space. The Rams also spent their first pick of the 2025 draft on Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson. With Higbee on the Broncos roster, he would complement Engram as a great second tight end. Higbee can be a receiver and a blocker in the run and pass game. Adding Higbee, a tight end who can block, behind Engram is the perfect one-two punch at tight end for the Broncos. As the veteran is in the final year of his deal, Higbee could be traded for without giving up significant value.
