Edinburgh Fringe star encounters 'serious problem' because of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
An Edinburgh Fringe star has claimed that she's run into a "serious problem" as she prepares to take the stage - and it's all down to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Alison Jackson, an award-winning photographer who's known for her snaps of celebrity lookalikes, including Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and the Royal Family, is due to put on a show at the legendary arts festival this month.
However, it appears that an unusual issue has arisen due to the controversies surrounding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, whose lookalikes were supposed to feature in her upcoming show.
In what the Mail's Richard Eden described as a "serious problem, " Alison detailed how she'd been unable to find actors to play Harry and Meghan, and the show is now fast approaching.
Yet, it seems there could be two specific reasons why it's proven to be a difficult task, both of which apply to the public's perception of the Duke and Duchess.

Alison told the Mail: "I have a couple of 'Prince Williams' who've come forward and they look quite good, but no 'Meghan' or 'Harry' has turned up."
She explained that the lookalikes have a tendency to "relate" to their characters and claimed that nobody wants to play Harry and Meghan as they're viewed as toxic by some.
Alison continued: "I think that people don't like Meghan, they don't trust her and they think she's an operator who sucks everything she can out of Harry."
She also theorised that Harry's recent BBC interview, in which he claimed his father, King Charles, "won't speak" to him over "this security stuff" (Harry lost a legal battle over his UK security in May), was to blame.
Harry has "gone too far", she claims, adding that his so-called digs during interviews at his father King Charles, who is battling cancer, are "beyond the pale". She also said Meghan's lookalikes "disappear" as she becomes "more assertive".

The Duke and Duchess famously shocked the world when they stepped away from royal duties in January 2020 and left the UK for a new life in Montecito, California, with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
In related news that will likely come as a disappointment for royal watchers, recent reports have claimed that Harry and Meghan will again not be joining the Royal Family for Christmas at Sandringham this year.
According to the Express US, it will mark the sixth year in a row that they haven't attended. Speaking about the alleged absence, Vanity Fair's Eve Batey warned that people should "prepare for disappointment".
Batey said: "For those who hoped that the British Royal Family's difficult year might end with a happy reunion should prepare for disappointment."
She explained that the news came from an anonymous source, paraphrasing that they'd claimed the Duke and Duchess had been "intentionally left off" the Sandringham guest list.

MPs call on Government to recognise live comedy as distinct art form
MPs have called on the Government to recognise live comedy as its own distinct art form to ensure the sector can access funding. It comes after the Culture Media and Sport (CMS) Committee held an evidence session on live comedy in April which found that, due to differences in infrastructure, workforce and audiences, the sector experienced significant restrictions when accessing funding bodies, including Arts Council England (ACE). In a letter to the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), MPs called for the sector to be recognised as its own art form in order to be able to access more funding and investment opportunities. This comes days after the start of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the largest performing arts festival in the world which has largely been cited as the event that helped acts make their break in the industry. The chairwoman of the CMS Committee, Dame Caroline Dinenage MP, said: 'The gathering of performers and audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe showcases the tremendous impact live comedy can have on people's lives and the wider economy. PA Media TV presenter and comedian Sue Perkins hands out flyers for her upcoming stand-up show Sue Perkins: A Piece Of Work In Progress outside the Pleasance in Edinburgh. 'But despite proving its cultural and economic importance across the country, a reluctance to see live comedy as a distinct cultural craft has hampered its access to the funding open to other performing arts. 'It's time the Government took the first step to helping the live comedy sector continue to deliver the huge benefits it provides by recognising it as a specific art form and properly engaging with the sector. 'There also needs to be more support for its workforce and a real focus on making sure that participation in and enjoyment of live comedy is something that is open to all.' PA Media Circus street artist 'BasketballMan' performs for the crowds on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh, ahead of this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In a letter addressed to culture minister Sir Chris Bryant, the CMS committee also laid out additional recommendations to protect the workforce including a voluntary scheme, similar to the grassroots music levy, for the biggest comedy venues, producers and promoters to commit to. It also called on the Government to work with funding bodies to establish an 'independent, accurate assessment of the size and distribution of the live comedy sector'. Her casting was announced on the arena's Instagram account on Monday, where a picture of the actress was shared. A source told The Sun: 'Helen is the excited for panto season and can't wait to get into character, she's a brilliant actress and knows how to put on a show. 'She'll also be pocketing a pretty penny, celebrities and soap stars make good money doing panto and always look forward to it as some extra income.' The arena captioned the post announcing the cast: 'CAST ANNOUNCEMENT ✨❄️. Helen split from her footballer ex-fiance Scott Sinclair back in 2022, and they share three children - Matilda, nine, Delilah, six, and Charlie, three - together. Earlier this year, Helen told in court how she was 'struggling financially' before being banned from driving for six months after being caught speeding. But Helen recently set the record straight about her finances as she shared the sad reason why she has decided to sell her eight-bedroom £1million Cheshire mansion. Her casting was announced on the arena's Instagram account on Monday, where a picture of the actress was shared 'I'm not in a financial crisis. I'm moving because I really need a fresh start,' she told OK! Magazine. 'Scott surprised me with this house and it was always supposed to be our happy family home, and it wasn't that. 'I like to be light-hearted and I hate to sound depressing, but there is a sadness in this house.' The former soap star admitted it had been 'a turbulent three years' and that she wanted to start fresh with her children. Helen hopes to move to London eventually, but for now, they are planning to stay where they are to avoid disrupting her kids' education. The soap star admitted that she will struggle to downsize from her lavish eight-bedroom house. Speaking on The Declutter Hub podcast with Ingrid Jansen and Lesley Spellman, she insisted she was 'down to earth' but that moving would be hard. I put loads of my savings into making it look really beautiful. It's eight bedrooms which is hard to keep on top of - it's a lot,' she shared. 'When we move I will struggle to downsize - I don't want to not sounds down to earth. Bu it will feel weird. It will be more manageable for me.' Helen split from Scott after 13 years together and then moved on with construction worker Robbie, 45, but they split in May and she now wants to be single.
