T.J. Watt works out with Steelers teammate amid contract drama
The superstar edge rusher posted a picture of himself and Steelers linebacker Nick Herbig on his Instagram story on Thursday, and it looks like the pair just finished a workout.
Watt, who is entering the final year of his deal in 2025, skipped mandatory minicamp in June due to a contract dispute with the Steelers. The 30-year-old wants to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL with his next contract, and Pittsburgh could be hesitant to give him a historic deal due to his age and slight decline in 2024.
Since entering the league in 2017, Watt has tallied the most sacks in the NFL (108) and has also tallied seven double-digit sack seasons. The seven-time Pro Bowler also tied Michael Strahan's record for most sacks in a season (22.5) in 2021.
With the Steelers set to report for training camp on Wednesday, there has to be more urgency from general manager Omar Khan to get a deal done with this franchise player.
It's unknown whether Watt will hold out of camp, but given that he didn't show up to minicamp in June, there's a solid chance the Wisconsin product isn't there for the start of training camp if he doesn't receive a new contract.

Packers-Lions season opener draws top broadcast crew at CBS
The Green Bay Packers' season opener against the Detroit Lions will get the top broadcasting crew at CBS. The Week 1 showdown, which is scheduled for a 3:25 p.m. local kickoff time from Lambeau Field on Sunday, Sept. 7, will get Jim Nantz and Tony Romo in the booth and Tracy Wolfson on the sideline for CBS. Being the top game on CBS should mean a majority of the country gets to see Packers-Lions in Week 1. The only other competing game in the same time slot on CBS is Texans-Rams, another terrific matchup. Although the network only announced the first three weeks, Week 1 likely won't be the only time the Packers get the best from CBS in 2025. Matt LaFleur's team plays Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals in the 3:25 p.m. time slot on CBS in Week 6 and the upstart Denver Broncos in the 3:25 p.m. time slot on CBS in Week 15.
