Lego announce new lower priced Botanical sets and a big scary tiger face

Metro23-04-2025
A trio of new budget priced Lego plant sets has been unveiled for the spring, along with a cool tiger mural to put on your wall.
Everyone loves Lego, but everyone also knows that Lego is expensive and no matter the quality there's just no way you can afford all the neat sets. Especially the big adult-orientated ones based on things like The Lord Of The Rings and Super Mario, which are extra expensive because they're licensed properties.
That's not the case with the Botanicals sets, unless Mother Nature starts charging licensing fees, but they can still often be upwards of £100.
Not this time though, as Lego unveils a trio of new sets for more modest prices, plus a really cool tiger mural which is similarly affordable, because it's not based on a movie or video game.
There are a lot of Botanical flower bouquets, but this is by the far the cheapest. For the price you get a variety of spring flowers, including billy buttons, bluebells, Cleopatra ferns, yellow yarrow, a pink gerbera, a peony, and a tulip. You don't get a vase with it, but you can just use a real one and, at a distance, it's actually hard to tell the difference from real flowers.
There's already a classic bonsai tree available for the Botanicals range but this larger one recreates a miniature red maple tree in a traditional plant pot. The tree is regarded as a symbol of peace and balance in Japan and believed to bring good luck and prosperity. They also look really pretty and are a lot easier to maintain when they're made of Lego.
These cute little potted plants will make both the gift recipient and your purse strings happy, as despite the low price they're one of the cleverest Botanical sets so far. The plants are a baby dracaena and a baby pilea (they're interchangeable between the two pots) but just adding the smiley faces somehow makes them seem super endearing.
This is technically part of the Lego Art line, which includes recreations of famous works of art such as the Mona Lisa. The Fauna Collection uses original designs though and this tiger is easily the best one yet. It's not always easy to get the organic shape of animals right in Lego but this 3D artwork looks great and can be displayed either on shelves, using a brick-built stand, or on the wall. It even comes with a number of jungle flowers, for a little Botanicals crossover. More Trending
The three Botanicals sets are available to pre-order now via the links above and will be released on May 1 for the Sunny Bouquet and June 1 for the Bonsai Tree and Happy Plants. The Tiger is also out in June but isn't available for pre-order yet.

Singer cancels tour over poor ticket sales and confesses he 'aimed too high'

Grammy-nominated artist JP Saxe has been forced to axe his entire tour unless he sells 20,000 tickets immediately after he 'aimed too high'. The Canadian singer, 32, is best known for his hit song If The World Was Ending, which he released in 2019 with vocals from Julia Michaels. The track landed him a Grammy nomination for Song of the Year 2021 but lost out to I Can't Breathe by H.E.R. Four years on, and he's taken to social media to confess he had overestimated how many tickets he could sell to his latest tour. 'I'm extremely embarrassed to tell you this, but I'm going to tell you anyway,' he began in a video posted to social media. 'If I don't sell 20 or so thousand tickets to my tour in the next 48 hours, it's going to be cancelled. 'If we're just not in a place yet to sell out these 2,000-, 3,000-cap venues – that's fine. It's always been my goal to connect deeply, not widely, and I stand by that.' The Make Yourself At Home tour was due to start next month with 32-dates scheduled across America, ending in October. He urged fans who might be waiting until the last minute to purchase tickets to act now so it could go ahead. 'Just in case you were waiting till the week of or night of to buy a ticket – that approach just isn't going to work, because there won't be a show to buy a ticket to,' JP continued. 'So whether that happens or not, I'm grateful to you for caring about my songs, and I hold on to a sliver of hope that I will see you in the fall.' After his message, an influx of 'a few thousand extra' ticket sales came in but it still hasn't been enough to save the tour. 'I am beyond grateful to every one of you who bought one,' JP said in a follow-up video once the 48hour deadline had passed. 'Those few thousand tickets are a reminder that being transparent in failure sometimes can be more powerful than the façade of success – a reminder of how wonderful it can be to ask for help and watch a community come together.' With a smile, he added: 'This really was the nicest the internet has ever been to me.' Apologising to those who wanted to come, JP confirmed purchases would be refunded in full 'with a small side of immense gratitude from a dorky ginger Canadian'. He then went on to write about the experience for Variety, explaining that honesty is not always seen as the best policy in the industry but it was important to him. More Trending Rather than an 'ego-saving explanation', the I Don't Miss You singer admitted he had 'aimed too high – my bad.' 'Self-image is delicate on a good day, fragile on a bad one,' he wrote. 'Applause for success is great. 'But there is something more interesting about be applauded for honesty in failure. It's not as good for my ego — but maybe i'ts better for my growth'. Got a story? Harry denies he left Prince Andrew with a 'bloody nose' in family gathering spat

Prince Harry has denied exchanging punches with Prince Andrew in a spat between the two royals. A new book claimed the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of York became embroiled in an argument during a family gathering in 2013. The confrontation was said to have been triggered by something said by Andrew 'behind Harry's back'. Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by Andrew Lownie claims Harry left his uncle with 'a bloody nose' in the dispute. The new book also separately alleges the Duke of York predicted that Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle would 'not last more than a month'. However a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex denied the pair had ever had a physical altercation or that Andrew had made such comments about the Duchess of Sussex. Andrew stepped back as a full time royal after his car crash interview on Newsnight in 2019 in which he was quizzed about his relationship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. His reputation was further battered by claims from Virginia Giuffre that she had been forced to have sex with the duke as a teenager – claims Andrew denies. Lownie's book claims there have been frictions between Andrew and Harry for years, with the latter even allegedly telling his brother, the Prince of Wales, he 'hated' the Duke of York. Andrew, who attacked Harry for failing to carry out 'due diligence' on his wife before their wedding in 2018,is also said to have made rude remarks about the Princess of Wales. The frosty relations between royals come as Andrew faces an uncertain future at the Royal Lodge at Windsor Great Park since his estimated £1million allowance was stopped by the King. In his biography of Andrew, Lownie suggests William has 'long worked behind the scenes' to remove the Duke of York from the estate, where he believes he has abused 'his privilege', the Telegraph reported. The book claims to shine a light on Andrew's behaviour towards longstanding royal servants. He is said to have branded David Anderson, the former manager of Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland, a 'f***ing imbecile' for not referring to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, by her full title. More Trending Anderson was informing Andrew that a severe storm had wrecked damaged on the royal residence, including to a tree planted by the Queen Mother. After Anderson said he had worked for the royal household since 1984, Andrew allegedly said patronisingly: 'And you still don't know the proper way to refer to my grandmother? You f***ing imbecile. Get out.' Colin Burgess, a former esquerry to Queen Elizabeth II, said that Andrew, in contrast to other senior royals, spoke to staff 'as an officer talks to his subordinates'. Jessie J hospitalised after ‘finding it hard to breathe' following cancer surger

Jessie J has been rushed back to hospital weeks after her breast cancer surgery, suffering from an infection and fluid on her lungs. Last month, the Bang Bang hitmaker shared that her cancer had not spread after a shock early diagnosis halted her return to the spotlight. However, she's now revealed she's 'finding it hard to breathe' as she's returned to the same ward she was in after her surgery. 'How I spent the last 24 hours,' Jessie — real name Jessica Ellen Cornish — wrote as she posted a picture of her arm with a canula in on her Instagram story. '6 weeks post surgery and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery. Not expected or planned,' she continued. The 37-year-old singer was last seen giving an emotional goodbye to her Los Angeles home, where she lived with partner, professional basketball player Chanan Colman, for over a decade. Jessie continued: 'I had and still have symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot on the lung. IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT THANK GOD. 'They ran a lot tests, which ended up showing I have an infection (still trying to figure out what) and a little fluid on my lungs. 'Finding it hard to breathe in, but I discharged myself last night (I hate being in hospital) and will continue the investigation as an outpatient.' In her next post, Jessie added that she knows her decision to leave hospital might not go down well with others who have gone through similar things. 'That's ok,' she said. 'But I know for me the true hard journey of this whole thing, physically, was the day I went into surgery.' Jessie admitted changing her plans for her career relaunch and 'being unable to be the mother I usually am' had been 'frustrating'. She added that getting the 'all clear' on her cancer was 'incredible' but didn't speed up her recovery or make it 'any easier'. More Trending In a final post, the Domino hitmaker added that this was was a reminder 'to slow tf down', which has been 'a hard reality to accept'. In June, Jessie underwent a mastectomy, which the Price Tag icon previously joked had left her with 'wonky boobs. 'I am finding the strength in knowing that all can be adjusted to align with a slower pace,' she continued, adding this was her body telling her to 'sit down'. Got a story?
