DYFI demands rollback of ticket price hike for Hari Hara Veera Mallu
In a statement, DYFI State president Y. Ramu and secretary G. Ramanna criticised the government for burdening the public, already grappling with inflation. They termed it outrageous to charge ₹700 to ₹1,000 for benefit shows held a day before the film's official release and demanded strong measures to curb such 'exploitative practices.'
The federation also called for stringent action against black marketing of tickets and urged that theatres failing to provide basic amenities be legally penalised. They further demanded action against cinema halls collecting unauthorised parking fees and overcharging viewers for unbranded food and beverages.

DYFI urges Telangana govt to implement Rajiv Yuva Vikas scheme
Hyderabad: The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) has demanded that the State government implement the Rajiv Yuva Vikas Scheme (RYVS) without further delay. DYFI state president Kota Ramesh and state secretary Anganganti Venkatesh said on Sunday that the Congress government, after coming to power, has not only limited itself to applications but also has failed to implement its promises. Speaking at the DYFI State Committee meeting on Sunday, the two leaders noted that the state government had allocated Rs 6,000 crore to provide self-employment loans to unemployed youth through the RYVS. They said about 16,25,000 unemployed people in the state have applied for this scheme. However, the government postponed the announcement of RYVS beneficiaries on June 2, Telangana State Formation Day. They demanded that the government should not neglect or delay the scheme and should grant funds to all eligible beneficiaries through the RYVS. They warned that this scheme should be implemented for unemployed youth even if they do not have a CIBIL score, and that otherwise, the DYFI would organise agitations. They also demanded that all vacant posts in the state should be filled and that the state government should implement the job calendar it announced and fill the jobs by issuing notifications.

National child rights commission orders probe into alleged DYFI disruption of mid-day meal, assault of cook at school in Kerala's Kannur
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has ordered an inquiry into allegations that Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) activists disrupted a mid-day meal at Manathana Government School, Peravoor, Kannur, Kerala, after assaulting a cook and destroying food meant for students. According to a complaint filed by M. Arya Laxmi, state joint secretary, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), during an SFI-led strike on July 10, a group led by DYFI block joint secretary Akshaya Manoj allegedly entered the school promises and assaulted cook-cum-helper Vasantha while she was preparing food under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM Poshan) scheme. The complainant alleged that the assault caused burn injuries to Ms. Vasantha and that food grains meant for children were destroyed. The complaint stated that the act was aimed at disrupting their statutory mid-day meal, thereby 'inducing hunger among children and compelling their early departure from school, impacting afternoon classes.' Ms. Arya said that such disruption violated the National Food Security Act 2013 and the Mid-Day Meal Rules 2015 which guarantee a free cooked meal to children up to Class 6 on all school working days. She observed that the alleged action undermined key objectives of the scheme. The complaint also flagged potential psychological harm to children. Ms. Arya in her complaint sought legal action against those involved. She also expressed apprehensions about a fair investigation under the Kerala government. The NCPCR has directed the District Collector to conduct an inquiry and take necessary action, with direct intimation to the complainant.

Keep politics out of ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu', say Pawan Kalyan fans and JSP leaders
Members of the Pawan Kalyan Fans Association and Jana Sena Party (JSP) leaders have appealed to rival political parties not to politicise the screening of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring actor-politician Pawan Kalyan. JSP leaders K. Kiran Rayal and Chinnamgari Ramana, on Saturday, distributed sarees to sanitary workers deployed at theatres screening the film. The gesture was described as a token of gratitude for the workers' support during the benefit shows. Addressing the media, the leaders urged political opponents, fans of other film stars, and a section of both mainstream and social media to refrain from spreading negativity about the film. 'The film is a must-watch for people across all social groups and categories. It offers a glimpse into our history. However, a section of social media affiliated to a particular political party is deliberately circulating negative feedback,' they alleged. Claiming that the film has already grossed ₹200 crore, the JSP supporters expressed confidence that it would soon touch the ₹500 crore mark, which they said would reflect 'the might of Pawan Kalyan's popularity'.
