Chance The Rapper announces ‘And We Back Tour,' NYC show. Get tickets
Chance The Rapper isn't leaving the possibility that audiences miss the release of his new album to chance this year.
The three-time Grammy winner announced he's striking out on his 'And We Back Tour' in support of the forthcoming 'Star Line,' which is due out Friday, Aug. 15.
While out and about, the 'Holy' Hip-Hop icon is slated to perform at theaters, music centers, rooftops, pavilions, auditoriums and resorts all over North America from late September through mid-October.
That includes a stop at New York City's Rooftop at Pier 17 on Thursday, Oct. 2.
'How about a quick tour for my closest fans?' he shared on Instagram.
Surprisingly, this run is the 32-year-old's first official nationwide trek since 2017's 'Be Encouraged Tour.' Over the past eight years, he's lent his talents to numerous festivals, taken off on mini-treks — like his cancelled 2019 'Big Tour' that concluded after just five shows — and headlined huge one-off gigs in his Chicago hometown but none of these outings have sent him all over the country.
Prior to the release of 'Star Line,' his second studio album, Chance The Rapper (whose real name is Chancelor Johnathan Bennett) dropped the laid-back lead single 'Tree' on July 3 after debuting the track at Bridgeview, IL's Lyrical Lemonade Smash on June 22. He has since taken the bop to the stage at Chicago's Soldier Field and Lollapalooza.
In regards to the record as a whole, Bennett said 'Star Line' features sounds that even 'if they're not super experimental [are] based in some of the Black music that was influential to me throughout my childhood or through my travels,' according to an interview with Rolling Stone.

Chance The Rapper new music
As noted above, Chance The Rapper dropped his lead single 'Tree' on July 3.
The 4.5-minute track starts slowly before a trademark Chance yelp gets the ball rolling. From there, the vocally-gifted rapper spits clever, incisive rhymes about ganja from his mom's perspective like 'she told me 'son, don't worry, don't you have no shame/There's gonna be frustration in this white man's game/And they're gonna have us tied up once it's legalized/Because it is a tree.'
Later, he hands over the baton to Lil Wayne for an equally adventurous verse celebrating lighting up. In short, the upbeat single is somehow both a good time and cautionary tale.
If you'd like to hear for yourself, you can find 'Tree' here.

Killa Clown! Cam'ron's 10 Most Petty Moments
Kaitlyn Morris When it comes to celebrities fighting in public, the limits are pretty low in terms of how far some will go in order to get that 'gotcha' moment. In the very special case of New York rap icon Cam'ron, the limit simply doesn't exist; there's no telling how far Killa Cam is ever willing to take things. Take for example his recent and very random beef with veteran actor Omar Gooding, best known for supporting roles in beloved '90s sitcom Smart Guy , the late John Singleton's 2001 hood classic, Baby Boy , and most recently in a 2024 stage adaptation of New Jack City playing Detective Stone. We know what you're thinking: When? Where? Why? …How?! We'll let the GRAMMY-nominated emcee break it down from his perspective. See below: Thankfully Omar doesn't seem to be taking things too seriously on his end, although we doubt his jovial follow-up response (seen below) will be the last we hear from him in this still-ongoing war of words. RELATED: LOL! LiAngelo Ball Claims He's Rapping Circles Around Cam'ron We care about your data. See our privacy policy. Although Cam'ron did acknowledge the moment that sparked their beef, stemming from a December 2024 episode of his It Is What It Is podcast, he didn't exactly address the real reason why Omar is upset. While some might be able to see the honest mistake in calling him Omar Gooding 'Junior,' a clear mixup with his Oscar-winning brother, Cuba Gooding Jr., it was Cam's claim that actors like Omar and a stray bullet towards Ving Rhames are waiting around for rap moguls like his counterpart 50 Cent in order to get their next movie role. In the eight months that've transpired since then, we've seen IG trolling from both ends, a surprising trifecta of diss tracks from Omar aimed at Cam'ron (seen below) and the aforementioned K.O. chess move delivered by the Killa Season emcee. As Omar preps his next move, we strongly suggest he considers who his opponent is. In many ways the 'King Kong of pettiness,' Cam'ron has decades of trolling under his belt that always sees the masses laughing right along with him. We're not sure if it's his lyrical way with words, the Harlem-bred confidence he exudes or just a determination to always get the last word in — looking at you, Bill O'Reilly! — but the man simply knows how to handle himself in a debate. As we wait to see how his beef with Omar Gooding plays out, take a look below at 10 of the most petty moments from rapper Cam'ron. Beef wisely, folks: Fox News got a reality check that night! After video-model-turned-podcaster Melyssa Ford made an unfounded claim that Cam might've had contact with underage girls in the past, let's just say he sent her a reminder to 'watch your mouth' when opening it to disparagingly mention his name. He even added Bey's vocals at the end from the duet in question, 'Do It Again,' off his 2000 sophomore album, S.D.E . We hope their current falling out will be resolved as brothers do, but this was extra levels of petty given the analytical breakdown. 5. Replacing Mase with a body double for the cameo-filled video to 'Horse & Carriage' As the story goes, Mase wanted $50,000 for his appearance after doing other stuff pro bono (i.e. the cinematic '357' music video). Cam wasn't feeling the price point given their close ties, and it led to the start of a decades-spanning beef that only came to an end a few years ago. It's still jarring to currently see them podcasting together. Poor Abby — she should've watched an old taping of The O'Reilly Factor first! While the infamous 'Stop Snitching' campaign did in fact hold weight in the hip-hop community during that time, his words admittedly helped create a distrust for authorities throughout the inner cities of America where hip-hop culture dominates all opinions. These two have since made up and even discussed this very moment over laughter in recent times. Still, real hip-hop heads will never forget 'CURTISSSSSS!' When all else fails, put your foot in it! …straight savage! SEE ALSO

Doja Cat defends rap skills after Outside Lands debut: ‘I'm incredible'
Doja Cat clapped back against online criticism about her Outside Lands performance over the weekend, defending her rap skills and declaring that she is 'incredible.' The Grammy-winning artist, who headlined the San Francisco music festival on Friday, Aug. 8, engaged in a back-and-forth with X user @playeration after they called out her musical style on the platform. "Hopefully after Doja drops pop disco album of the century her fans can stop trying to force her into female rap conversations," the X user initially posted on Saturday, Aug. 9, referring to Doja Cat's forthcoming fifth studio album, "Vie." The genre-bending singer and rapper teased the project, performing her new single 'Jealous Type' during her Outside Lands headlining set Friday. She also hosted a surprise listening party at the soon-to-close queer nightclub Oasis immediately after her Golden Gate Park set. She had previously told V Magazine that 'Vie' is 'pop-driven.' The @playeration continued by adding that Doja Cat 'can't be taken seriously as a rapper without ever prioritizing bars, punchlines, wordplay, and storytelling.' That's when the artist chimed in. "You don't listen to or read enough of my writing to be able to make this claim. I'm alright at what I do and sometimes I'm incredible," she responded on Sunday, Aug. 10. "Please stop trying to downplay my ability it feels like you're doling out criticism with no constructiveness based on something that's deeper than just the topic of music." When the @playeration replied to Doja Cat, noting that the criticism is 'not personal,' the two engaged in a brief conversation in the thread. The X user explained that they have listened to the 'Paint the Town Red' artist's full catalogue, but doesn't rate her as highly as rappers like Rakim, Jay-Z and Jeezy. 'That's not hate, it's just a difference in what I look for in rap,' @playeration wrote. Doja Cat replied that she respects their perspective. 'If you haven't been able to find a bar that you can connect with, that's more than okay,' she wrote. 'That's your right.' The conversation came two days after Doja Cat's Outside Lands debut, during which she showed off her new '80s-esque aesthetic and new track. Though she didn't draw as large of a crowd as fellow Grammy-winning rapper Doechii, who performed on the Lands End stage just a few hours before her, Doja Cat got thousands of her fans moving with hits such as 'Woman,' 'Agora Hils' and 'Boss Bitch.' Her subsequent appearance at Oasis came at a trying time for the beloved South of Market drag hot spot, which plans to close at the end of the year due to ongoing financial challenges. 'Her people approached us. She wanted to drop her three new songs in a queer venue,' Oasis owner D'Arcy Drollinger, who also serves as San Francisco's drag laureate, told the Chronicle about how the event came to fruition. 'It was such a joyous feeling in the room' During her post-festival show, Doja Cat previewed portions of 'Vie,' which has no release date yet, and chatted casually with fans from the stage of the 531-capacity venue. 'She was so gracious. Not a single diva moment,' Drollinger said. 'So kind and easy and effortless.'

Chance the Rapper talks about life after divorce ahead of ‘Star Line' release
Chance the Rapper is opening up about co-parenting with his ex-wife as he prepares to release a new album and go on a national tour. The rapper from Chicago stopped by the 'CBS Morning' studio on Monday to discuss the release of his second studio album, 'Star Line.' Chance, whose real name is Chancelor Bennett, described the new EP as his 'most expansive work.' 'It covers a lot of different areas in my life,' he said. Chance etched his way into the music world after recording a mixtape during a high school suspension. He self-released '10 Days' in 2012 and began his career as an independent artist, a path that he continues to follow. He followed up his debut LP with 'Acid Rap' a year later, and 'Coloring Book' in 2016. In 2023, Chance celebrated the 10th anniversary of his second mixtape by performing the entire tape at the Kia Forum. 'I wrote [Acid Rap] when I was opening up for artists playing 300-cap rooms. I'm rapping about doing open mics but closing my eyes and seeing arenas. Going back and playing arenas for that project just makes me proud,' Chance said in a 2023 interview. Now, the rapper behind tracks like 'Cocoa Butter Kisses' and 'No Problem' said his new album reflects the change his personal life has gone through in the last six years, including his divorce from Kirsten Corley, with whom he shares two children. 'It's always just a good thing to, as an artist … release and to like, you know, just share with the world,' he added. The couple married back in 2019 and announced their separation last year on their Instagram. Corley filed for divorce in December 2024. They continue to raise their two young daughters together. 'You know, family is like one of the biggest things for me, for [Corley], for my kids, for my mom and dad, so I think the most important thing for anybody that's ever navigating [parenting after a divorce] is making sure that you keep an environment for the kids where they understand that [family is] the priority,' Bennett said. His last album, 'The Big Day,' was released in 2019. Chance the Rapper is releasing his follow-up on Friday and will go on tour starting in September, with a stop in L.A. on Oct. 20.
