Serie A rivals Cremonese have been leading the chase to prize Ambrosino away from the Scudetto winners.
The 21-year-old has been training on his own in Naples after being left out of Antonio Conte's pre-season training camp.
But Italian outlet Corriere del Mezzogiorno reports that Ambrosino is determined to stay put and fight for his future in Naples.
It's said that academy graduate is willing to stick around and compete with Romelu Lukaku and Lorenzo Lucca for the centre forward spot.
Cremonese were confident of securing a loan deal with an option to buy but Ambrosino has now moved the goalposts.
The in-demand attacker spent last season with Frosinone in Serie B where he chipped in with five goals and four assists.
Meanwhile another forward Celtic have been linked with has dropped out of CFR Cluj's Europa League squad.
Romanian hitman Louis Munteanu netted 25 goals last term and was reportedly the subject of a Hoops bid in January.
French sides Nice and Lille have also been monitoring the goal machine - who previously insisted that he's happy in Romania.
However, it emerged tonight that the 23-year-old has not travelled to Portugal for Thursday's Europa League showdown with Braga.
That prompted rumours that Munteanu could be edging towards an exit.
But Cluj president Cristi Balaj quelled the speculation by revealing Munteanu had been ruled out through injury.
He told DigiSport: "Louis Munteanu has a minor muscle problem. It's a contracture. When you have a contracture and you don't follow the treatment for a few days, you risk a muscle tear."

Barcelona open Liga title defence strolling past nine-man Mallorca
Spanish champions Barcelona opened their Liga campaign on Saturday with an island cruise as they played almost an hour against nine men on their way to a 3-0 victory in Mallorca. Two of Barcelona's Ballon d'Or nominees combined to put the visitors ahead after seven minutes, Lamine Yamal crossing for Raphinha to head in. Yamal played a key role in the second goal after 23 minutes. Mallorca defender Antonio Raillo headed away the teenager's shot and then fell to the ground. As the referee waved play on and Mallorca failed to clear, the ball fell to Ferran Torres. He fired home from the edge of the box. Manu Morlanes was one of two Mallorca players booked for dissent as they told the referee he should have stopped the game. Ten minutes later, Morlanes received a second yellow for a challenge on the rampant Yamal and was sent off. In the 39th minute, as Barcelona's debutant goalkeeper Joan Garcia jumped to head a ball clear, Mallorca striker Vedat Muriqi challenged with his boot so high he planted his studs on Garcia's cheek. Muriqi also saw red. Barcelona strolled through the second half. Coach Hansi Flick brought on summer loan signing Marcus Rashford, whose league registration only cleared on Saturday morning, for his Liga debut. Deep into injury time Yamal sliced through the home defence and curled in the third goal with the final kick of the game.
