Oops, Britney Spears thought she's on a plane where smoking is allowed
Britney Spears admitted that she smoked a cigarette and drank alcohol while on an airplane as she apologised to those who were 'offended' by her actions.
Her explanation: She thought it was allowed.
Spears addressed the reports of her behaviour that 'violated federal aviation regulations' through a recent statement posted on her Instagram account.
The American singer explained that it was her friend who lit her cigarette that made her think she was on a plane where 'smoking is permitted.'
'Some planes I've been on you can't smoke mostly but this one was different because the drink holders were on the outside seat,' she captioned the video of herself holding a bottle of alcohol while on the said flight.
Spears noted that it was her first time drinking vodka which made her want to smoke, writing, '[I said], I want a cigarette so bad. My friend put it in my mouth and lit it up for me so I was like, 'Oh so this is a plane where you can smoke. I do so apologise to anyone I offended but the flight attendants always make sure I'm way at the back of the plane anyways.'
The Oops! I Did It Again singer remarked that it was 'too much' to alert the authorities about her conduct, saying, 'The flight attendant called officials because I smoked a cigarette. And embarrass me which jeez I thought was kinda much but she didn't like me the moment I got on the plane.'
On May 22, Spears made headlines for allegedly being seen drinking alcohol and smoking a cigarette while on a private plane to Los Angeles from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
International outlets reported that flight attendants allegedly asked the Toxic singer to put out the cigarette, which she did but when the plane landed, Spears was greeted by authorities, who issued her a warning about her conduct.
In November 2021, Spears was released from conservatorship after 13 years during which her father, Jaime, 'controlled her life and financial decisions.'
Nearly two years after she was freed from conservatorship, Spears published her best-selling memoir, The Woman In Me . Over the years, the pop singer faced controversies due to 'mental health'. – Philippine Daily Inquirer/Asia News Network

#SHOWBIZ: Amy of Search issues letter of demand to Shila Amzah
KUALA LUMPUR: Lawyers for Datuk Amy of Search have sent a letter of demand to singer Shila Amzah, following the recent viral controversy involving the two artistes. Amy's lawyer, Datuk M Reza Hassan, confirmed the notice had been issued but did not share any further details. "We just sent a letter of demand, but they (Shila's lawyers) have asked for time to get further instructions from Shila. I can't share anything more for now. We'll see how it goes," M Reza told HM Online. The dispute began after Shila, 35, whose real name is Nurshahila Amir Amzah, filed a police report on July 10. The 'Patah Seribu' singer claimed a legendary singer had verbally attacked her at a recent event they both attended. Shila later confirmed the individual was Amy, who is also the father of actress Nabila Huda. Initial police investigations revealed the tension was caused by Amy's dissatisfaction with Shila's alleged interference in his family's affairs. Both parties have since had their statements taken by the police. Following this, Amy filed a counter-report at the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters on July 16, which was also confirmed by M Reza. Adding to the speculation, Amy was recently seen deleting all of his posts on Instagram, leading to questions about his actions and current situation.

#SHOWBIZ: Denise Richards questioned by police after visit to estranged husband's home
CALABASAS: American actress Denise Richards was questioned by police in California on Sunday after she visited the home of her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, despite a restraining order being in place. The visit, which reportedly escalated into a heated confrontation with Phypers' family, ended with police on the scene. According to a report by TMZ and Page Six, the former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills arrived at the Calabasas home where Phypers is currently staying with his parents and brother. Her stated purpose for the visit was to collect her dog. However, a source claims Richards began banging on the back door before being let in by Phypers' parents. Once inside, she allegedly screamed at them to leave the property. The situation reportedly grew more volatile, with the source claiming that Richards, 54, pointed her finger in the faces of Phypers' parents and attempted to hit his brother. She is also alleged to have thrown mail at her brother-in-law. Phypers, 52, reportedly left the property when she arrived, fearing that her presence would cause him to violate the restraining order. Photos obtained by TMZ showed Phypers' elderly mother visibly shaken and hugging her son in the driveway. Despite the confrontation, authorities concluded that no crime had been committed and no arrests were made. In a statement to People, Richards' lawyer, Brett Berman, denied any wrongdoing. Berman claimed that Richards had not violated the restraining order because she had confirmed beforehand that Phypers "was not present in her home." Berman added that Richards was there to retrieve her dogs after learning Phypers had allegedly put one of her other dogs down without her knowledge or permission. A source close to Phypers called this allegation "100 per cent, absolutely false." A representative for Richards was not immediately available for comment. The incident occurs just weeks after Richards was granted a temporary restraining order against Phypers, who filed to end their six-year marriage last month. In her filing, Richards accused Phypers of abuse, claiming he had slapped, choked, and threatened to kill her. Phypers has denied these allegations.

Are Florence Pugh and Finn Cole secretly engaged?
They are the kind of couple that hides in plain sight. Walking hand-in-hand behind festival crowds, exchanging warm Instagram comments and exiting red carpets through the back door. Florence Pugh, the Oscar-nominated darling of Hollywood and Finn Cole, the British actor best known for his role in Peaky Blinders, may have quietly fallen in love. And if recent reports are true, they may be taking the next big step together. August has just begun, and the rumour mill is spinning again over their alleged romance. According to one insider, Cole and Pugh have been in a bubble, getting to know each other away from the spotlight. Florence Pugh and Finn Cole are rumoured to be engaged. Photo: X As for a ring? None has been spotted and neither party has commented. But they continue to support each other's work publicly and it seems, love quietly. Back in September 2024, they were seen hand-in-hand at The Perfect Couple premiere after-party at The Hoxton hotel in East London. Even celebrity gossip accounts reported sightings of the couple all over London during that time. But perhaps the most telling moment came when Pugh confirmed to British Vogue in the same month: 'Yes. We are figuring out what we actually are. And I think for the first time, I am not allowing myself to go on a roller coaster. I am allowing myself to take time to let something evolve and let it be completely real to its core, as opposed to racing into that,' she said. While she did not name names, the timing was hard to ignore. She went on to describe falling in love as 'the most amazing feeling,' but warned that 'unfortunately if that is the only thing that you know in a relationship, then that is the thing that you chase. That is not gonna last.' Florence Pugh and Finn Cole are rumoured to be engaged. Photo: X In June 2024, the pair were spotted together at Glastonbury Festival, and by July, Pugh had commented excitedly on Cole's casting announcement, joking, 'Granny Pat wants to come. #obvi.' Though neither Pugh nor Cole has confirmed their relationship, the evidence has been building quietly over the past year. What began as a long-standing friendship appears to have turned into something far more serious. Their connection goes back to at least 2017. Over the years, Pugh has consistently liked Cole's Instagram posts, with her interactions becoming more frequent and affectionate in recent months. While Pugh's rise has been swift — from indie darling in Lady Macbeth to Marvel star in Black Widow and Thunderbolts — Cole's career has also been a steady climb. Born in Kingston, London, on Nov 9, 1995, Cole got his start with a background role in Offender (2012), which starred his older brother Joe Cole. Joe would go on to play John Shelby in the acclaimed BBC series Peaky Blinders, a gritty crime drama where Finn would eventually find his breakout role as Michael Gray, John's cousin and the ambitious son of Polly Gray. While his brother exited the series in 2017, Finn remained until its conclusion in 2022. His portrayal of Michael, who began as the family's legal brain before spiraling into a more ruthless figure, gave him a lasting mark in British television. From there, he expanded into international roles, starring in the American crime series Animal Kingdom (2016–2022), Dreamland (2019) and even appearing in F9 (2021) of the Fast and Furious franchise. Cole has largely kept his personal life private, giving few interviews and seldom appearing on the tabloid radar. As both actors continue to take on high-profile projects — with Cole recently appearing at the Thunderbolts premiere in support of Pugh — the intrigue around their relationship continues to grow. And while fans may keep watching for rings or red carpet appearances, perhaps what is most admirable is that the two seem content building their story far away from the spotlight, one quiet moment at a time.
