Shocking moment Spanish cop slaps tourist 'who swore at him after complaining about police treatment of African beach sellers' in Marbella
The incident took place at Faro Beach located at the popular holiday resort Playa del Faro on Saturday afternoon.
The Marbella-based officer, who was seen in the clip wearing a helmet to protect his head, slapped the elderly man twice around the face despite the fact there seemed to be prior physical provocation.
The unidentified holidaymaker appeared to yell 'hijo de puta', which translates in English to 'son of a b****', before being hit.
Local reports have claimed the tourist had been voicing his discontent at the cop over his aggressive attitude towards the African beach sellers who gather on Marbella's seafront in the summer and sell counterfeit goods like sunglasses and bags in breach of municipal regulations.
Police officers were reportedly seen pushing one of them before the holidaymaker assault as other chased fellow street sellers trying to run away with their belongings.
Despite the clip appearing to identify the police officer as the aggressor, the elderly tourist is understood to have been arrested.
Another tourist donning a pair of swimming trunks, filmed being surrounded by seven officers and pinned to the ground following a shouting match, attempted to intervene but also ended up being arrested.

Sources claimed today, as the video footage now going viral was being looked at by local authorities to determine whether any officers should face disciplinary action, that one of the detainees threw a bottle at cops.
He is reportedly denying the allegation.
The beachfront drama occurred around a fortnight after another African street vendor was filmed punching a policeman in the face as he tried to stop him confiscating the counterfeit goods he was selling at a Marbella beach bar.
The vendors, known locally as 'looky looky men', were seen pummelling one cop after taking him down.
In a separate video, one vendor appeared to have broken part of the officer's helmet while punching him in the face.
As one man repeatedly punched and kicked the police officer, the other took a moment to pick up his fallen wares.
The two vendors then quickly escape, and the beaten officer was joined by a backup cop, all while tourists vacated the area.
The astonishing scene unfolded in front of British tourists, with one forced to jump out of the way as the violence flared yelling: 'What the f***! That was mental.'
Another was heard exclaiming: 'That was the most insane thing I've ever seen.'
Police later claimed the 'looky looky' men they have to deal with on a regular basis are getting more and more aggressive and don't think twice about employing violence when cops try to stop them and seize their merchandise because they know the courts will let them off with little more than a fine if they can be tracked down and identified.
Marbella Town Hall has not yet commented on the actions of the police officer seen slapping the tourist filmed insulting him at the weekend.
They said the incident had happened during a routine police inspection against itinerant street trading.
Police officers on quads are carrying out more regular inspections during the summer in Marbella.

Clarkson's Farm fans devastated as Kaleb Cooper shares 'soul destroying' news
Kaleb Cooper has taken to social media to share devastating news Kaleb Cooper, the 27-year-old farming sensation, has taken to Instagram with a heavy heart to reveal that thieves have made off with his farm machinery. In a brazen overnight heist, culprits swiped one of his tractors and a post knocker, essential for driving fence posts into the ground. A gutted Kaleb posted this morning: "My post knocker was stolen last night, as well as the John Deere tractor. Can we please make this as hot as possible? What is going on with England at the moment?" The theft occurred on Fulmer Lane, prompting Kaleb to use his social media clout to spread the word and enlist public help, sharing contact details for any sightings of the stolen kit. His online community rallied in the comments, extending their support to the TV star. One sympathiser wrote: "Sorry to hear that mate. A friend of mine who owns a garden centre had their digger nicked last night, and another friend had their two 16 ft trailers nicked the week before. I saw two different companies had vans done over last week, totalling something like £50k worth of tools. It's soul-destroying!" Another expressed shock: "The mankiller 9000? ! Jesus, I hope they get caught. Stealing from farmers is such a wildly despicable move," reports the Express. Someone else commented, echoing the sentiment of hope: "I really hope that everything will be found." Yet another added, "I really hope that everything will be found and the thieves will be brought to justice!" Puzzled by the audacity of the crime, one person asked, "How does one take something so big and no one notices?" One irate fan vented: "Who the f**k would steal a tractor from a world-famous farm... The attention alone makes it a case for the Police to investigate fully and follow up on, lest they be eviscerated on a show with global reach." This distressing revelation follows Kaleb's recent announcement about expecting his third child in just a month's time. Kaleb initially announced his pregnancy on This Morning in May, receiving warm wishes from hosts Cat Deely and Ben Shephard. During the live chat, Kaleb humorously remarked: "The third child is due in August, so I think I may be the most fertile man in Chipping Norton."

Brit tourist, 23, is left in intensive care in Ibiza after smashing his head in hotel pool plunge
A British holidaymaker has been rushed to a hospital intensive care unit with skull and spinal injuries after smashing his head on the bottom of his Ibiza hotel pool. The 23-year-old is 'very serious' after undergoing an emergency operation following the incident yesterday afternoon. The hotel in Ibiza where it happened has not yet been named. Hospital sources said they understood he had hurt himself after falling or diving head-first into the pool, although the exact circumstances are still being investigated. One unconfirmed local report said he was under the effects of drugs when he got up from his sun lounger and 'deliberately' threw himself head-first against the ground. He remained today in intensive care at the private Nuestra Senora del Rosario Polyclinic where a 25-year-old British tourist died on July 14 from injuries he had sustained a day earlier in a fall from a supermarket car park in the party resort of San Antonio. A hospital spokesman said: 'Yesterday afternoon, a 23-year-old British man was injured after diving headfirst into a swimming pool at a hotel in the town of San Antonio. 'We do not have detailed information about the exact circumstances surrounding the accident. 'The young man was taken to the Nuestra Senora del Rosario Polyclinic, where he underwent surgery by the neurosurgery team. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit. 'The medical diagnosis includes a cervical spinal cord injury, head trauma and a fracture of the sixth vertebra.' Two Scottish tourists died in falls from the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in the same resort earlier this month. Dundee-born ice hockey star Gary Kelly, 19, died instantly in a third-floor fall at the hotel on July 21. On July 7, Evan Thomson, 26, from Aberdeen, fell and died at the same hotel.
