AdsAdvisor has introduced a new scenario-based business modelling tool to streamline financial planning for mobile studios and offer improved revenue forecasting and cost management.
The Business Modeling tool aims to assist mobile businesses in converting strategic targets, such as revenue and EBITA, into detailed, actionable plans using data-driven methods. It enables teams to create and test different user acquisition scenarios across multiple mobile platforms, including iOS, Android, Samsung, and Huawei, and visualise how varied strategies can influence financial results for any given period, whether a month, quarter, or year.
Designed for mobile studios
Eugene Chernysh, Chief Operating Officer at AdsAdvisor, said the purpose behind the development was to give mobile marketers clarity and a practical link between strategy and outcomes. Chernysh explained, "With mobile app businesses increasingly driven by data, we built Business Modeling to give mobile marketers a clear, practical way to connect strategy with outcomes. Releasing in H2 2025, it's the right tool at the right time - helping teams prepare for year-end performance cycles and plan confidently for the year ahead. Whether you're focused on growth, margin, or long-term efficiency, Business Modeling turns financial planning into a true growth tool - and keeps every team aligned around shared business goals."
By supporting both cohort-based and streaming revenue models, the tool takes into account the entire cost structure typical for a mobile studio. This includes store commissions, VAT, user acquisition spend, creative production, royalties, and operational expenses. The platform integrates all these factors into a single model, aiming to move studios away from spreadsheets towards a consolidated, real-time view of performance and profitability.
Operational integration
After establishing a strategy, the tool is intended to act as a central operational hub, allowing studios to define key performance indicators, set return on investment targets, and monitor actual performance against forecasts on a real-time basis. At the end of each month, Business Modeling automatically imports updated live performance data and uses factor analysis to refresh future projections. This process is designed to help teams determine what changed and why targets were missed or achieved, and to identify the necessary adjustments to future plans.
The platform includes features such as version comparisons, support for top-up web payments, seasonal multipliers, and the ability to upload historical data. These functionalities are aimed at elevating the precision of financial forecasts and providing more relevant scenario planning options. Norton launches AI deepfake detection for mobile in early rollout

Norton has begun offering early access to AI-powered deepfake protection within its Norton 360 mobile apps in several countries, including New Zealand. The feature, known as Norton Deepfake Protection, is available through the Genie AI Assistant as part of the Norton Genie Scam Protection suite. Initially accessible only on some Microsoft Copilot+ PCs, the technology is now available to mobile users with Android and iOS devices, enabling consumers without AI-specific hardware to benefit from the protection. Detection capabilities The tool can analyse audio and visual content, identifying signs of manipulation that could indicate the presence of AI-generated deepfakes. Its functions include the detection of AI-generated voices that might be used in fraudulent schemes and the spotting of subtle inconsistencies or deformations in the facial features of people shown in videos. If a deepfake is identified, users receive cyber safety guidance and recommendations on their next steps directly from the Genie AI Assistant. The service currently supports the analysis of English-language YouTube videos, with the ability for users to upload video links and obtain real-time feedback regarding authenticity. Support for additional languages and platforms is planned for future updates. Protecting digital trust "As AI-generated voices and faces become harder to distinguish from the real thing, trust is rapidly becoming one of the most fragile elements of our digital lives," said Leena Elias, Chief Product Officer at Gen. "The line between truth and deception is blurring, especially when malicious actors can abuse AI to create scams that replicate voices and imagery with startling realism. This is why we've made our deepfake protection accessible to people who don't have AI hardware, so they can confidently navigate and consume digital content without second-guessing what they see or hear." According to Norton, the rise in AI-generated audio and video content increases the potential for scams, particularly those involving fake voices or impersonations. By offering tools that evaluate both the sound and appearance of digital content for authenticity, the company aims to support individuals and families in verifying what they encounter online. Initial rollout and future plans The early access version of Norton Deepfake Protection is currently being made available to users in the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Coverage is provided across both Android and iOS platforms, with the company stating that support for desktop devices is expected soon. Norton has indicated that deeper integration of deepfake protection capabilities will continue, with plans to extend the solution to AI PCs running on Intel chipsets later in the year. The company also intends to introduce further advanced detection features for both desktop and mobile users. The Genie AI Assistant will notify users if a piece of analysed content is determined to be an AI-generated scam, providing guidance on how to respond. For now, the feature is designed specifically for reviewing YouTube video content in English, but development is ongoing to broaden its usage across additional platforms and formats. Norton has stated its commitment to enhancing cyber safety measures to counter the rise in sophisticated online fraud that makes use of artificial intelligence, by making protections available to the general public without the need for specialised devices. Phones are covered in germs. A tech expert explains how to clean them

We wash our hands, sanitise shopping trolleys and wipe down cafe tables. But what about our phones? We touch these devices dozens of times a day, and take them everywhere from the kitchen to the dining table, and even the bathroom, writes Australian academic and technology expert Meena Jha. Phones can be contaminated with many kinds of potential germs. When was the last time you wiped down yours – and with what? If you use the wrong cleaning agents or tools, you could strip your phone's protective coatings, degrade waterproof seals, or even affect its touch sensitivity. Do phones really need cleaning? Touchscreens get covered in fingerprints and smudges, so there are aesthetic and functional reasons to wipe down your screen. ADVERTISEMENT Another reason comes down to potential health concerns. Whenever mobile phones are swabbed for microorganisms, scientists inevitably find hundreds of species of bacteria and viruses. While not all of these cause sickness, the potential for transmission is there. We use phones while in the bathroom and then put them near our mouths, touch them while eating, and pass them between people in meetings, cafes, parties and classrooms. Unlike hands, which can be washed many times a day, phones are rarely cleaned properly – if at all. If you do want to sanitise your phone, it's also important to not damage it in the process. Some cleaning products will damage your phone (Source: Getty) You might think a quick swipe with a household cleaner or hand sanitiser is a clever shortcut to keeping your phone clean. However, many of these products can actually degrade your device's surface and internal components over time. ADVERTISEMENT For example, both Apple and Samsung advise against using bleach, hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, aerosol sprays, window cleaners or high-concentration alcohol wipes (above 70%) on their devices. Most smartphones are coated with an oleophobic layer – a thin film that helps resist fingerprints and smudges. Harsh chemicals such as alcohols, acetone or ammonia-based cleaners can strip this coating, making your screen more vulnerable to smudging, and diminished touch responsiveness. Vinegar, a common DIY disinfectant, can corrode aluminium or plastic edges due to its high acidity. Bleach and hydrogen peroxide, though highly effective as disinfectants, are also too aggressive for the delicate materials used in consumer electronics. High-alcohol content wipes may dry out plastics and make them brittle with repeated use. In short: if the cleaner is tough enough to disinfect your kitchen bench, it is probably too harsh for your phone. How should I clean my phone then? (Source: Getty) ADVERTISEMENT The good news is that cleaning your phone properly is simple and inexpensive. You just need to follow the guidelines backed by major manufacturers. You should also unplug and remove any protective cases or accessories when cleaning your phone. Most tech companies recommend using 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes (not higher), soft microfibre cloths, and anti-static soft-bristled brushes made of nylon, horsehair or goat hair to clean delicate areas like speaker grills and charging ports. During the Covid pandemic, Apple revised its cleaning guidelines to permit the use of Clorox disinfecting wipes and 70% isopropyl alcohol on iPhones, provided they are used gently to avoid damaging screen coatings or allowing moisture to seep into the device. Samsung offers similar advice, recommending users wipe down their phones with a microfibre cloth lightly dampened with a 70% alcohol solution, while steering clear of direct application to ports and openings. Prevent accidental damage when using these tips (Source: Getty) Never spray liquid directly onto the phone, as moisture can seep into ports and internal components, leading to short circuits or corrosion. ADVERTISEMENT Submerging your phone in any cleaning solution is also risky, even for water-resistant models: the seals that prevent water from getting in, such as rubber gaskets, adhesives, nano-coatings and silicone layers, can degrade over time. Avoid using paper towels, tissues, or rough cloths which may leave scratches on the screen or shed lint that clogs openings. Finally, be cautious about over-cleaning. Excessive wiping or scrubbing can wear down protective coatings, making your phone more susceptible to fingerprints, smudges, and long-term surface damage. How often should I clean my phone? (Source: Getty) While there is no strict rule for how often you should clean your phone, giving it a proper wipe-down at least once a week under normal use would make sense. If you regularly take your phone into high-risk environments such as public transport, hospitals, gyms, or bathrooms it is wise to clean it more frequently.
