Netflix's Chakda Xpress was announced by Anushka Sharma in 2022 as her comeback film after Zero with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in 2018. It is backed by Clean Slate Filmz, a production house run by Anushka's brother, Karnesh Ssharma. Last year, it was reported that the production house's partnership with Netflix had ended, resulting in a delay in its slate of releases. Reports said that Clean Slate Filmz might repurchase the film from Netflix and could look for other platforms for release. Clean Slate Filmz and Netflix have yet to address these claims.
